    ZOSI 8 camera 720P systemOkay, so I've had this for a few weeks now and finally got it installed quite a bit of work running all these cables and hanging cameras Bought this to keep an eye on things outside. Not a problem when I'm not at home, but when I'm at home thing makes so much noise I can hardly stand to keep it turned on. Picture quality is so so, but it does work for what I wanted to do. I would not recommend this to anyone if they're all this noisy I would not have another one and would not recommend anyone else buy it either! It's not just a little noisy, it's real noisy.Update - after my previous review the seller contacted me and offered to replace the defective DVR. I have since received and installed the new unit and can say I'm very pleased,not only with the product, but also the excellent customer service. Currently I'm waiting for them to send me a return label.5crisp pix but had color/light level; problemsPerhaps its just "this" camera but the color temperature is way off and in bright sunlight the video washes out to a bright blob of nothing. This camera replaced one that looks at my oil tank that happens to be in the shade and who cares if the white tank and white house has a blue tint. At night the camera goes to B+W anyway, and the night pix is crisp and clear so with the color set to near zerot B+W works for me by day to. .Some may send it back but I can work with it as is. It also fit in the old housing and is already in place/aimed... so sending it back is more hassle than its worth. But when I have to replace another camera this one will not be on my list.note... pix posted in the reviews show the whack attack colors this camera comes up with... so its not just my camera2Don t lose power, you ll never get video back.This is a good product when it works, but the problem is once it stops working, it can be days of messing with it until it s up and running again.There is no hard reset button on the unit, so the only way to turn in and off is by unplugging. We lost power with a storm a few weeks back, and when we came back, we had no video. It took three days of plugging things in and unplugging them to get 7/8 cameras back online at the same time. We just stopped there.Then we had another storm over the weekend and lost power. Again, it s been three days and we are only up to 4 cameras. No idea why there is an issue.We are going to start looking for a new product today as I can t have people in and out of my office at night with no surveillance.We have a battery backup on the u it, but when there is a power loss, the backup only lasts so long, and there is no backup on the cameras.2Decent DVR for the priceI bought this as an upgrade to my existing DVR which was 700TVL but not HD.The cameras show very clear compared to the older after market ones I had. They are the same shape as most of them. The plastic is flimsy and cheap. The cameras move around even when locked. On my original cameras they were metal and durable and once locked they would not move. These see better at night and for a camera that comes with the DVR they are good quality and wide angle so a plus there.The DVR itself works well and I was able to use the existing cables to connect the cameras making no new wire runs.The app is WAY better than what I had before. I was only able to view live feeds before and with this I can view recordings but it is a bit cumbersome. It tends to not work great at first unless you close it and allow it to sign back in. Then no issues. The recorded view seems to get stuck at specific points and randomly accepts feedback. I think I am doing something wrong but who knows. I have been able to make it work over time when I needed to but not sure I would choose to do it that way. I used to have to stand and do it in person so still better than what I had.The QR code to find the DVR and lack of firewall setup makes this simple to setup. It also allows you to do it the manual way but I didn't try that setup.Happy overall and enjoying the higher quality.I removed a star for cheaper quality on the cameras and buggy app but it is still functional and a bargain.4The Winner (with one caveat)Short story: OutstandingLong storyBackground: I started out with an 8-channel Zmodo DVR kit. The picture quality looked fine but I had nothing to compare it to. Later I upgraded the DVR section to a 16-channel DVR but with the original 8-cameras knowing I was going to expand the system in the future.After seeing so many customer photos of other DVR's I knew that the Zmodo had a low-quality picture so I purchased an Anran DVR and wow, what a miraculous improvement! It was like going from VHS to DVD all over again! Though the original cameras looked better, I was still dissatisfied.I began purchasing new cameras as upgrades with some pretty good improvements. But when I finally tried these Zosi 800TVL 960H cameras, I was astounded at the picture quality. Colors were accurately saturated, contrast was good, and the resolution seemed to match up with the Anran DVR very, very well. There is no mosquito noise in the system from low-light conditions either, which I definitely see on my remaining Zmodo cameras.Since the first Zosi camera, I have purchased 3 additional ones and have plans to purchase 5 more to complete the upgrades and expand the system as far as I want it. To be clear, I have purchased one of these white domes, a black dome, and a black bullet camera. All seem to have identical sensors, just different form factors and IR arrangements.These are so good, I might even replace some of my previously upgraded cameras.I was suspicious of the cost of the cameras, since most of the "good" cameras go for $30 or more (including 3 that I purchased before any of the Zosi cams), but these are shockingly good. Much better than my $30-$45 cameras.UPDATE: There is one flaw with this camera. If you angle the camera ball too close to 90 (90 means facing "straight out" instead of "straight down", 0 ), the IR LED's will reflect off of the inside of the containment shroud back into the camera sensor which creates bright halos that complete drown out the image at night. I don't know if all dome cameras do that so I can't necessarily dock my rating of this one. Just wanted to make everyone aware of this limitation depending on how they intend to set the viewing angle. I'm simply going to use this camera in another location that faces more downward instead of outward and use a bullet camera in the location I need to "face outward". I suppose as an improvement, Zosi could coat the inside of the containment shroud with an IR absorbing material instead of an IR reflective material, but then the cost probably wouldn't be so spectacular at that point. Although, I could probably tackle that pretty easily as well. Maybe I'll try that and get back to you guys with another update.5Buyer BewareI bought this system about 5 years ago. During that time, I am on my 2nd DVR from them. The first one stopped working after the first 3 months. I contacted customer support, which is located in Japan so in order to communicate to them, it had to be via email and they responded when I was sleeping because of the time variance. So every question I had, I had to ask and then wait until the next day to answer and this went on for over a week before they finally sent me another DVR. During that time, the DVR went "offline" (got the Zosi start up screen) several times, frozen on that screen. Again, had to communicate via email for several days before they finally sent me an upgrade which I had to upload to a thumb drive. That didn't work and again, had to email them several times to get help with that as it wasn't working. Also, getting the system to work with the app to view the cameras remotely was very antiquated and troublesome to get to work. I am very tech savy so it wasn't because I had no clue what I was doing. Fast forward to 2020, and the DVR has stopped working again. I tried to contact support, this time via Facebook messenger and they asked for my order ID right away. I provided it and it was the last I heard of them. I sent several text messages, AND emails with no answer from them whatsoever. I should have listened to the other reviews I read before I bought this.UPDATE: Zosi contacted me and gave me step by step instructions to upgrade the system and was all done via Facebook messenger. The system is back up and running!5I'll stick to Jooan brand cameras.This camera is terrible. Night vision is so dark you can't see anything. I bought this to replace a bullet camera because it was smaller and white so it wouldn't be so noticeable, big mistake. 1000TVL ? I don't think so, My 700TVL cameras outperform this one in night & day vision with a clearer pictureUPDATE. I added a picture from the previous camera. Both cameras were mounted in the same location and angle. According to Zosi I'm suppose to change location and angle of their camera. Typical response. I'm surprised they didn't say 'did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in'. .1You wouldn t find something made cheaper in the toy you get in kids meal AT A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT.The older versions of these where nice heavy duty metal camera housings etc. this new plastic version is worthless. I ordered one in January and lost all but one of the 3 silicone pieces that are supposed to hold camera in place as soon as I took it out of the box. I did not make too big of a thing about it but I just got done helping a buddy install system with 4 of these exact same cameras. Everyone of them had the silicone pieces fall out while mounting and will no longer hold position. This is some of the cheapest corner cutting I have seen in quite a while and it has completely changed my view of this brand and it s products.1Unbelievable ValueAll the way 5 star for this product. Like all, I was VERY VERY skeptical about this product, just due to the low price in relative to all the others on Amazon and retail store. But thanks to all those that gave this product a positive review, I took a chance and ordered the 8 camera set from here Amazon. First of all, I have been researching this home camera system for about 4 months, reading from the cheapest to the most expensive, almost everyone's review counted, by far this is the best price with the most positive review ratio. So to install, like most have said the instruction was a bit light and not very in depth, almost seem as the writer assumed we have done this before, but can't lower the rating base on their writing skill. the camera was easy to install. I live in a 3000 sq ft single story home, and the control box and power box is located in the corner study room about 7' drop below the ceiling, the 60' cable was just enough to the furthest location, but shy of 15' short of the furthers corner, not a big deal (I have spliced one and added 30' extra length, didn't notice quality difference). the cable and connector quality is GREAT, I have test it in relative to Coax, at 60', its just the same. Night vision, its way more than I was expecting, the only issue, not the fault of this product, is the red LED for night vision attracts bugs and they love hovering infront of the camera at night. Day time, Awsome. The controling and HD box, very easy to use, and YES its a bit slow to respond to command using mouse, but don't compare it to your computer speed. I have added an A/V modulator and integrate it to my current cable system, assigned the camera to Channel 2 , so now I can watch my 8 camera anywhere in the house at any time. I have also went to FRY's electronics and compare, the same 60' cable that came with the camera ran for $24.99 ea x8, that's $199.92 just in cable retail price. Couple of sugestion for those that are installing it. The camera comes assemble, so you have to take it apart for installation, very easy, just untwist the bottom and top cover and the camera will come loose, don't tighten until you have gotten the perfect angle, and don't worry about adjusting until you have setup the app, so you can stand outside your house and watch the app as you adjust the angle. I'm not sure about the screws that comes with the package, I sugest to go to HD or Lowes and get some stainless steel screws, its very cheap, couple of bucks and you won't ever have to worry about it rusting, especially its mouted outside. Also its probably a good idea to get a simple 30 minutes standby UPS to the system, so that when you loose power, ti wouldn't keep rebooting due to bad weather, at least a surge protector. Lastly, depending on your TV, the quality of the video will vary, I have test it with the old SD tv - poor quality, HD-TV good quality, Computer monitor-best quality. If you see Snow on just one camera, you have a loose connection on that camera, if snow on all, its just your video out connection is loose. Good luck DIY.5Best dome camera for the money!I just replaced an inexpensive dome cam with this Zosi and couldn't be more satisfied. The low price almost made me look elsewhere since I wanted better quality than I had but with Amazon's no hassle return policy, I took a chance. I'm very glad I did because this camera performs very well. Others have said it was plastic but thats only partially true. The camera ball is thick metal but the base is high quality plastic. The only issue I had was that one of the rubber bumpers that hold the ball in place when its mounted came off while aiming the camera, I just had to re-glue it. That would explain why some reviewers have complained of not being able to tighten it.Image quality is great, see my old vs Zosi comparison pictures. The second one is the old no-name camera. Both pic's had bright sunshine and were taken only a couple hours apart. The Zosi was a huge improvement!5
