    FT-857D Must Have Best addition to my FT-857D, definitely a "must have" addition. 5Fake counterfeit copy Not a real OEM mic. A complete counterfeit Chinese copy. Great MIC! used on a FT-897D go to the mic settings, set from normal to RMT. and boom... instant super mic... The mic is good a little HOT might have to adjust your mic gain... 5Plug and go, almost This was a replacement for the factory original and other than having to make one setting change it was a plug and go. Adds greater control to radio and is a must if using as mobile. 5Perfect! Perfect! Worked WONDERFULLY! 5Good quality microphone. The price was just about right for the market. 5I changed back to the microphone that came with the yaesu-857 and was told it sounded much better. I do not recommend based on my experience I purchased this for the ability to change frequencies and access the menu through the microphone. I do not recommend based on my experience. 2Four Stars sweet 4Amazing Remote Mic! Controls just about every radio feature! This mic should really come with every Yaesu 817, 857 and 897 from the factory!It's surprising how many people don't know about this powerful amazing remote control. Just go into the radios menu and set mic from Normal to RMT and now you can control just about every feature of the radio with this mic. I actually can't think of one feature you can't control with this. Great for mobile use or when the radio is a little out of arms reach in a base type setup.I have a device from Pignology called the piglet. This device allows for rig control via iPhone, iPad or Android. Theoretically you should be able to put radio in backpack and view radios display freq and mode on mobile device. Then change freq or mode with with this mic, with out ever having to touch the radios controls!To top it off the mica audio quality is pretty good once gain in menu is set up properly. This mic is pretty sensitive so start mic gain in SSB to about 20 and FM to about 30 on Yaesu FT-857's 5
