    Got a different product than was shown I have one of these, and I've been very happy with it in my car. So I ordered a second one for hiking/backpacking, which would allow me to have my radio attached to a pack and the speaker mic at my chest.Unfortunately, what I got was a similar speaker mic that was less suitable. Where the picture shows the "Wouxun" label, instead there was an LED that lights up on transmit. Kind of pointless, but okay. The clip was terrible, however. It was too short to extend over a strap, and it was too weak to stay in place. With a mic this small, the clip really gets in the way of your hand when you grip it. I ended up breaking it off with a screwdriver, and letting kids use it because their smaller hands fit this smaller mic.These are small, thin mics. The sound is good (not really tinny), and the cable isn't as stiff as other brands. If you have any of the Chinese hand-helds (Baofeng, Wouxun, Puxing, TYT, etc.) this is an improvement in audio quality over the internal mic. Just be aware that you might not get the product that you ordered. 3Not a good mic BUT INSTEAD A........ Having researched many mini speaker microphones for use with my new Baofeng gen 3 F8HP HT, I am VERY HAPPY WITH MY FINAL CHOICE OF THE WOUXUN SMO-001. The build quality seems to be excellent, the action of the PTT switch is crisp & positive (as a matter of fact,I was also really surprised how heavy the 001 is for it's small size) PLUS.......each and EVERY contact I've made has reported the signal audio quality has been very, very good. That said, along with the excellent job of packing the mic and very fast delivery time, I feel a 5 star rating is definitely deserved. 5Sound great for both transmit and receive This works as well as any lapel microphone/speaker I've used, and I have used big name brands. No idea how long it will last but for now, it works great. 5Finally, a working remote mic I have purchased many remote speaker/mic combos in my quest to find something that will work well AND sound good. This item and the BaoFeng QHM22 Platinum Series IP54 Rainproof Shoulder Speaker Mic are the only 2 out of 10 mics tested worth using. The outbound audio quality of the mic is the best of all I have tested. The speaker quality of the QHM22 is better than this speaker, but it's hardly fair dinging this item since the two are both head and shoulders above the rest. This item is worth the extra money.This item feels sturdy and the swiveling clip is outstanding. 5Good Speaker Mic Option for KG-UV8D As an accessory for the Woxun KG-UV8D this small speaker mic fully meets my expectations.I get reports of good audio and I'm happy with the sound quality of the speaker for it's size.Granted, it's not going to sound as good as other, larger speaker mics, but it's small size is perfect for my specific use.I had a problem with the PTT on the first one of these I bought, so I can't give it a full 5-star rating. 4So far should be good for Kenwood style mic inputs, just a little stiff on the cabling Seems nice and solid so far, although honestly I have not yet used it. If I find anything wrong with it in use I'll update. But seems good so far, only complaint is that the cable is too tight. At room temp (72) it's so stiff it pulls when I bring the mic to my mouth. At colder temps (50f or below) it's basically a solid cable and it'll be too short if the HT is at your waist. It's doable since even coiled up tight it's fairly long, just could be less stiff. 4The great part about this Wouxun Walkie Talkie Remote microphone is ... The great part about this Wouxun Walkie Talkie Remote microphone is that it functions as a remote speaker when an earphone is disconnected from its built-in jack, although I worry about the entry of liquids and dirt into the hole-although it's facing the logical bottom(downward), there's no cover like on the radio itself for times it's not occupied by a plug . The audio quality is pretty good on transmit and receive, and it's the same brand as my radio and plugs right in, so maybe it won't blow out the inputs with an incorrect impedance. 5Better unit than the Baofeng mike! Bought this after discovering that Baofeng mike I bought for my Baofeng UV-5r had very bad audio. This was about twice the price (which is still a good deal) and works well. Audio reports say that it's good. Only reason that I took off one star is it's a bit too small to be as easily manipulated as it could be. I wish it was just bit larger. However, for the price, and for a mike for an HT - can't go wrong with this unit. 4Nice addition to my UV5R Plus Great little mic w headset or earplug port. Works very well and the speaker IS an improvement over the UV5R's internal speaker. One little note. the plug in is reverse of what I expected. The UV5R has a soft rubber cover on the right hand side. This remote plugs in with the cord extending toward the volume control vertically. Not a bad design just not what I expected. Works very well and delivery was prompt as expected. 4Right size for portable use At first, I thought this was a toy, but the sound quality and the microphone work well and I get no complaints from recepients. One person said I was speaking too close to the microphone and that I sounded better about 1 to 2 inches away from the mic. The size is just right for portable us as it will clip to the lapel and is not overly heavy. The clip is also sturdy and the rotaing plate is made of metal 5
