Customer Reviews

Pretty but lightbulbs very noticeable No matter how/where I put it, you could see the light bulbs. I wanted them to just shine on the painting with the lightbulbs concealed, and they do make them like these - They cost a lot more than this one, though. The gold looks nice, and it's well packaged. Maybe I missed something, but I couldn't tell from the picture or description that the light bulbs would show so prominently. I gave mine to Habitat for Humanity, because it was too late to return when I went to install it. 3Great picture light Great picture light.Just what I was looking for, to highlight the picture but not too bright.A piece of advice, this will take these bulbs that can be bought from Amazon:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HEMFOSA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Only 1/3 of a watt, they take two of them and give enough light to highlight your picture nicely for less than a watt. Each bulb lasts 30,000 hours, so running continuously would last almost three and a half years. Again, using only 2/3 of a single watt of energy.Hope that this helps some here. 5Pretty darn good I had to return another product for which the mounting was unattractive and obtrusive. The mounting on this product is straightforward and easy to attach to the wall. The toggle is nearer to where it plugs in which could be a challenge. I liked the warm light it gives off and it effectively illumines a fairly large oil painting. When it shipped it got rubbed a bit on its outer fascia or surface which only I notice. Also, the lights were not sufficiently directed down and inwards towards the painting (but shone in my eyes); it was an easy fix, I simply bent the mounting armature a little to adjust it perfectly. 4pretty sad quality I knew I was in trouble when I couldnt find a light for my bulletin board with good ratings. Crooked, ding, poor finish, see too much bulbs & holders. Could barely get it out of the packaging safely. I gave it two stars because I already had a ZAP remote control switch, and it makes light on the bb. Not well suited for bottom mounting at all. Only 2, 2" bulbs. Dont expect much for $30, and you wont be disappointed. Dont expect the Westinghouse name to mean anything, anymore. 2Bird Material (cheep, cheep) More like 2.5 stars. I can't say I don't like it because I kept it, didn't I? I looked around and found that these were either what I consider expensive or cheap, which is what this is. The mounting bracket was askew (not surprising, since it's cheap, thin steel), and it had only one light-directing device around the bulb. You get what you pay for, and I cheaped out and got a really cheap light. With some inventive twisting and re-aiming, it works, but it's basically cheap junk that is worth 1/10th the price 3is what it is light tone is nicenegative is can't tilt/angle the shade, have to bend it at the base to angle it. so if picture is high on wall and you don't want to be able to see the bulbs, have to angle it pretty far because the shade cover does not come down far in the front. then to not have it angled blocked the picture have to mount it higher on wall so the mounting bracket is no longer covered by the picture frame. though is okay, the light shade itself blocks the mounting bracket from sight. so design could be better. probably most don't mind seeing the bulbs.I would of rather paid another $10-20 for a better design, but there currently is much options in the mid quality range. 4The item was cheaply made and the poor quality was not reflected in the pictures at your ... The item was cheaply made and the poor quality was not reflected in the pictures at your site. The so-called 'brass' is rough and of terrible quality. The arm is not adjustable as we had hoped causing us to have to look at the light bulbs instead of the brass covering as expected. There is no way to adjust the arm to allow for disguising the bulbs. The electrical cord and the 'on-off' switch are too short to allow one to easily be able to turn the light on or off from behind a 3' x 3' painting. Also, be aware of the stringent return policies for this company. They don't allow returns of packages that have been opened. How one is expected to try the light on the picture frame without opening the original package is beyond me. 2This is by far the worst and most unusable I have ever seen I have numerous picture lights. This is by far the worst and most unusable I have ever seen. The shade, which cannot be adjusted, is designed to shine out into the room instead of on the picture. If you enjoy looking at the bulbs then this is the light for you. I had to bend the armature until the light hangs down in front of the picture and I still can see the bulbs.I plan to buy one at Lowe's and junk the peace of garbage. 1Poor design and engineering I'd give this a 3 out of 10 or 1 1/2 stars. The specification listed are not correct and are misleading. It states that the shade is adjustable - not true as the shade is fixed and cannot be rotated. The cut out to allow light from bulbs can be seen. Only adjustment to tilt shade down to eliminate seeing bulbs is to manually bend bracket that mounts unit to back of picture frame. It also states that their is adjustment via ball and socket. It's design only allowed me to tilt it left or right, not up & down. The mounting bracket is a flatted section of the tubing projecting out the light fixture. I bent this via pliers and relatively light force. Since this is a very soft malleable metal, don't bend it back very often, or it will snap off. The final deficiency is that the in line on/off switch is very close to plug that goes into wall socket. For convenience I left it turned on and plugged it into a multi-port surge protector using on/off from it.I had bought some much nicer ones from Home Depot a few years ago for about the same amount. Unfortunately they no longer carry them or the company went out of business. I could not find them online either. 1well built, easy to install, and no batteries! This "conventional" picture light fixture is long enough to illuminate a 30" wide framed piece of art with ease. The item mounts to the back of the frame with provided screws (note: be careful if you're pre-drilling screw holes, as the typical frame molding is thicker at the top and less so at the bottom). The two-bulb fixture throws plenty of light. The mounting hardware bends to adjust the fixture; however, the main part of the fixture does not adjust. This item is plugged into a standard household outlet; there are no batteries. A rocker switch on the electrical cord allows easy on/off. All in all, an exceptional item at a good price. 5
