Customer Reviews

Better than most Overall, if you want a set of magnification lenses, these are a wise choice. I bought these several months ago and they have been about what I expected them to be. As far as items like this go, these are the best I have used. That being said, any photographers that expect miracles to happen from magnification lenses such as these, without much knowledge or effort on their part, are just expecting way too much. If you understand what you are doing, then these will come in very handy. That being said, I had to knock what would have been a 5-star rating down to 3 stars because the glass in one of the lenses became loose within a month of buying this set. I had only used the lenses 2-3 times since buying them when this occurred, and friends that bought this same set have not had that issue happen to date. Just red flag that possibility" for yourself if buying! 3Very, Very pleasantly surprised....! Wow.. I can't believe how well these work. Very nice quality. Iv'e tried these on my Canon EF 50mm 1.4 USM, 75-300mm IS USM, Tamron 28-85mm VC and no matter what combination or alone they so impressed beyond my expectations. I like them better than my extension tubes except they aren't as convenient. It's nice to be able to use the tubes on one lens and these on another, or a little of both to find just the right framing and magnification. These pics represent my 1st test shots with a 50mm 1.4 with the 10+ and 2+ & 4+ together. Obviously I should have gotten a flat bill, heh....good luck.Mike 5They come in a nice little padded case with each lens in a soft ... They come in a nice little padded case with each lens in a soft clear plastic envelope. Glass is clean and clear. I am only giving four stars because the +2 lens has threads that are not correct. After threading about 3/4 of a turn, it hangs up and I am afraid to use excessive force for fear of damage to the main lens. I tried threading it on other lenses with the same result. The other three, +1, +4, and +10 work fine. I am disappointed in Vivitar's Quality Control Department. 4Fun! I have so much fun using these. I have to admit, I use the +10 the most because I like extreme close ups, but I am starting to experiment with the others, as well as stacking them together. I think because you need to get quite close to your subjects, they are better for still life, but I did manage to capture a bee on a flower, and you can see all the pollen. Someday I hope to get a macro lens, but for now, these are great. 5work very well Editted ReviewOk, bottom line folks. they are not designed for a super zoom bridge camera. They will NOT make your 50x superzoom Fuju camera into a 100x camera. They are designed for a DSLR. I was able to coax some performance with a lot of camera manipulation, but after a couple months, I don't use these at all. I wont change the rating, because I was trying to make they do clearly what they what they are not designed for. Sorry. These will be gifted to a friend with a DSLR.this applies only to the magnification pack, not to the light filters by Vivitar which work great, and I use all the time.Original ReviewI am very happy with vivitar lenses, I am using them on my Fuji 9400w bridge camera with an adapter ring and they work very well. This is stretching the application, because this clearly not what they were designed for 4Great value - great fun I teach photo classes and one of the subjects involves macro shooting. This product is an inexpensive way to turn a normal lens into a close-up lens. Not quite the same result as an expensive macro lens, but very satisfying. I always carry mine in my camera bag to photograph bugs, flowers, water droplets, etc. They are very useful when attached to a telephoto, enabling close focus at high magnification, resulting in super soft focus backgrounds. There's a lot of fun in this product. 5Nice add on. I had ordered and got a set all-ready (from someone else), how ever they were not the wright size for my Lens. I love the price & no shipping cost on these Vivitar Macro filters (glass), So I ordered them. I got them in 3 days and have had a time to try them out. They are very good. (Even better if you talk about the price.) I have done hand held shots & had very good output. With add support (tripod) They will most likely do even better. I found them a nice add on to my bag. Money well spent. They did say the size (mm) in the part # and on the order. Thank you Scott Haddock 5It's alright It's okay, on my camera it makes it hard to focus right when I have one of these on. I have a canon 500D and I didn't want to spend a lot of a macro lens. It works okay for taking close up pictures of small objects in particular, but if you have the money, I imagine a good macro lens will make a world of difference. Don't expect miracles. 4Good way to save money on lenses This is no match to an actual lens but a great alternative for an intermediate photographer to save money and get nice shots. Got this for my niece and she enjoys playing around with them. Durable and easy to put on and take off 4I like these, there is a lot of quality in ... Well to begin with .. For the price I paid for this macro filter set I sure wasn't expecting much.. They are working exactly as advertised.. There are sets out there for many times the price and there is a reason for that high price.. I like these, there is a lot of quality in this inexpensive set as they meet my needs and the macro photos I have taken are really nice.. I am very satisfied with this purchase and will/would recommend them.. 5
