Customer Reviews

Good TV Bracket I bought this tv bracket on 1/5/15, and installed it so that I could mount my 65" Samsung UN65HU8550 on it (~55lbs). Well built, heavy duty, and adequate instructions. It comes with almost all of the hardware that you'll need to mount it, although I did have to buy M8 1.25 x 25M at Home Depot (Good luck finding those if you need them, as I had to go to Lowe's and 2 different Home Depots to find them), as the screws labeled "M" that screw into the tv anchor holes, were a little too long. I also had to buy 1/4" heavy duty Toggler Brand toggle bolts, as studs seemed non-existent in my living room wall. I ended up using 8 bolts to install the bracket, but could have gotten away with just 4. I used the additional toggle bolts as I wanted to be EXTRA sure the bracket was secure, since I was mounting the bracket/tv to drywall only. VERY, VERY, secure. The lever to lock the tv in the tilt position seems to work better than the twist knob types, as you have more leverage with the handles. Make sure you install the levers so that they face the outer edges of the tv, and adjust the angle before you put the tv on the bracket, as you cannot squeeze your hand behind the tv after its on the wall. I used my own leveler, so I can't really comment on the accuracy of the one in the box, and the one on the actual bracket. I got all of this done by myself, with exception of placing the tv on the bracket. The install would have gone smoother/faster if not for having to get the alternate screws and toggle bolts, and with another person helping throughout. Tightening the locking screws at the bottom of the bracket is also challenging. I suggest buying a long Phillips screw driver, or an extension to attach to removable tip screwdriver. You'll also probably need a tape measure, and stud finder.Good product, I'd DEFINITELY buy again. 4A couple of issues I bought this to mount my 40" Samsung UN40J5200AFXZA on a concrete wall. The unit is quite the bargain, and well built as described in other reviews. However, I ran into two issues; one a potential deal breaker. First, the anchors they supply for attaching the lag bolts to concrete are 7/16" in diameter. Good luck having a large enough masonry drill bit sitting around to make holes large enough for those suckers. Instead of using the supplied anchors, I bought a pack of Tapcon 1/4" x 2 & 1/4" concrete anchors for the job. Those only need a 3/16" drill bit. Even then, you still need a hammer drill in order to not kill yourself trying to drill the holes. The bigger issue was despite the huge variety of bolts supplied to attach the TV to the mount, none of them were long enough to make contact through the suggested configuration of a lock washer, reinforcement plate, vesa mounting bracket on the back of the TV and then a spacer. They were about 1/8" too short. I found if I just used the bolt it would work through the spacers supplied with the TV. Not a big issue since the TV weighs about 20 lbs, but something I would pay more attention to if the TV weighed significantly more. Overall, a good deal, but be aware of potential roadblocks, especially if you intend to mount it on a concrete wall because your ultimate cost will probably exceed your initial $30 investment. 3Ignore the bubble level on the wall bracket and throw away the torpedo level provided as STEP #1! Seriously, ignore the bubble and toss the torpedo level! They were so far off it was comical! However, I don't trust any level except those I know to be accurate. So, their poor calibration did not hinder my installation. This STURDY mount was used to hang our older Samsung LN46B610A5FUZA 46" LCD that weighs about 43.5 pounds and has a VESA 400mm X 400mm mounting pattern. Included hardware was perfect to mount the brackets to the TV - no spacers needed. I threw out the lag bolts for the wall mount. It's rare that I use lags for anything these days when much better fasteners are available now with higher strength, including in shear, which is what you need to "hang." I used 2-7/8" HeadLOK fasteners, which have a broad, "wafer" head. So, no flat washers needed. One also does not need to pre-drill with HeadLOKs. They'll zip right into the stud with an 18V cordless impact driver. I hit two studs with two HeadLOKs in each stud - the mount is solid!Once I finished installing the wall mount and then a recessed electrical/coax box immediately below it, it was a snap to hang the TV onto it! I did it myself first shot and the top of the wall mount is 60" from the floor. The TV slid easily on the bracket till perfectly centered. In my installation no tilt was needed, and I tightened the upper bracket locks before hanging the TV. As for the many reviews criticizing the bottom lock screws, all you need is a screw driver of proper length or a ratchet with an extension of proper length and screwdriver bit. I used an 11" Phillips driver, and it took me no more than 30 seconds to tighten them both! This mount was a great buy in my opinion, and I'm glad I chose it over the bigger name brand because it would have been money spent without purpose or added benefit! 5Excellent Value - Hang a 75" TV for $29.99...! With all the good reviews already here, I'll just add that this mount is an excellent value for a quality product. Seriously, just $29.99 for a mount that will support a 75" LG TV with no problems. (Which is what I used it for). There was some discussion about the lag bolts snapping when put into the wall. The bolts are plenty strong. You just need to drill proper pilot holes to keep this from happening. If this is done, you should be fine. If you try to power these bolts into a wall stud without first drilling holes, they could well break. One thing that I always do is to tighten the bolts only using a small 1/4" ratchet. That way, you are not able to force the bolt too much.BTW, this is the third mount I have purchased from this company (3 different sizes), and all are a great value and are quality products. 5High quality wall mount. Package arrived on time from Amazon. I bought this mount for my bedroom TV which is a Panasonic plasma that is around 8 years old. Installation was pretty easy although it was a new wall that I had built where I had added plywood in the wall to screw the tv mount to. The brackets attached to the tv easily and with a little help from my brother it attached to the wall mount quickly. A template is provided for mounting the wall portion to the wall. If you can find the wood studs and screw the wall mount to them with the lag bolts provided that should be sufficent. However if not I would use toggle 1/4-20x3" toggle bolts to hold the wall mount in place. 5Great value Good for the price. It installed easily. I used a couple extra high grade lag bolts just to be safe, because I do not like VideoSecu s lag bolts at all. They are not long enough to grab studs properly. So I always use SPAX lags. This is my third VideoSecu installation, and I like them a lot.The first 2 installs I did were the fully articulating ones. For this time around, I did not need a side to side movement. As for the install, I made one critical mistake. I installed my wall outlet under the rail which is bolted to the wall. I should have put my outlet above the rail and here is why: The TV will most likely be angled down, making the bottom of the TV up against the wall and the top of the TV away from the wall. I m now having a hard time using my outlet, but it works well with a flat outlet plug where the cable runs off to the side. The entire assembly seems strong. The hooks used to attach TV to rail are thin metal, but I m not too worried about it. My TV weighs around 50 pounds and I m sure it s fine. Have a friend help you, because wiring this thing up with your HDMI cables is much more difficult than the fully articulating mounts where your TV can be stabilized 2 feet away from the wall. Once you hang the TV, you can pull the bottom out only a few inches. So ideally, two people could hold up the TV while a third person plugs everything in.I would recommend this product to someone who simply needs their TV flat on the wall with the option to tilt downward. It s no frills but sturdy and the cost can t be beat. 4Dang Near Perfect for My Classic 46" Plasma! I have myself an old-timey Panasonic 46" plasma. Bought her new back in the day. She was my pride and joy. But in our new home she had to set on the stand for over a year - dang near two. She looked sad and low, and we too felt wrong about it. Having dealt with those son-of-a-guns whose "cost" is "not plural" and getting a bushwhacking over a badly written product description, I knew I would have to turn to another source. Sure enough, this beauty not only galloped into town with a perfect fit, restoring our TV to its former glorious heights, but was also LESS than the previous outlaw's offering. I'm the envy of the prairie! Now if I could just keep those danged Ingalls girls off my lawn... 5Very sturdy mount, but don't expect to be able to get behind your TV very easily after everything is secured. Solid construction for a great price. Came with all the hardware including huge screws that ensure your TV isn't going to fall off the wall. The screws have 1/2" bolt heads, I assume to prevent stripping that might occur on a normal phillips or flathead screw. I put four screws into studs, and 2 more into the giant anchors that were provided. The mount won't budge, even after placing our 65" TV on it.The TV section of the mount sits on the rail with a couple of hooks, and can be moved left-to-right. On the bottom, a couple of screws secure it to the bottom of the rail. You will need a long screwdriver to screw these in, and it takes a lot of turning at a pretty weird angle. Hook up all your wires first. Once these are screwed in, it will be pretty hard to get behind your TV again. I've rated it a 4 instead of a 5 for this reason alone. Everything else is awesome, but turning those screws is a pain, and loosening them to get behind the TV is an unattractive option. On the bright side, there's almost no chance someone will steal my TV. Good luck getting those screws out if they try. 4Forgiving....absolutely forgiving! I hung one of these in my upstairs a few years ago and then hung a new one with my Father-in-law today (both were different variations of LG 43" LCD/LED TVs). I remembered why I was so pleased with it. It is SO forgiving for any amateur (well, novice if I'm honest) handy-man like me. There are so many holes on the brackets, that you could probably move it up and down 2 inches on the back of the TV without changing the installation at all. The rail it hangs on allows you to move the TV side-to-side a few inches depending on the width of the TV. This means that you just have to get it close to where you want it, make sure it is level, and then you can tweak the last bit of adjustments to get it perfect really easily. The thing is a beast on the wall too (a complete overkill for the new light TVs), but there's no worry about it falling, especially with the security screws. I think the wall would have to come down before the TV would touch the floor. Thank you to whoever designed this thing! You had the average customer in mind. 5This is my first TV mount and it installed easily and very securely (be sure to find your studs The embedded level is a genius idea! This is my first TV mount and it installed easily and very securely (be sure to find your studs!). There are a lot of options for TV mounts and I purchased this one because of the embedded level. The build quality is great. I'm really happy with it.I gave four stars, because the mechanism for tightening the tilt feature is a little cumbersome after mounting the actual TV in place. I've adjusted a couple times already, so it's nothing major, but I have to remove the TV whenever I want to adjust the tilt (which is easy enough).Easy to level. Extremely secure and firmly attached to wall. Come with everything you need. Very pleased. 4
