Customer Reviews

Work perfectly in my small Victronix knife I have a small Vitronix brand knife- just a basic one with a scissors, file/screwdriver, knife blade, tweezers and toothpick. My spring broke on my scissors and I didn't want to buy an entirely new knife just so the scissors would be easier to use. I saw these springs and decided to give them a try. They work GREAT! It took a bit to remove my old spring and put the new one in but once I got it in my scissors were back to like-new. This is a very inexpensive fix.The repair is pretty simple but takes a minute or two. You need a small screwdriver or pin/ice-pick to push the old spring out- Caution! Don't puncture yourself. Take it easy and you can replace the spring. I also used a small needle-nosed pliers. The entire job took about 5 minutes. Perfect fit and the scissors were like-new afterwards.I would recommend this product.ProsPrice- cheaper than buying a new knifePretty easy repairMultiple springs in the package so I can repair again if/when I need toConsNone 5Awesome, saved tons versus buying new knife and easy change out to boot! So easy to change out, simply take out some pliers and pull out the old one. Then set the new one in by pushing down the spring in the eye hole to get it started. Once started use needle nose pliers to push in, don't worry, you won't hurt it. Takes about 5 seconds and you have a new knife. It is a 6 pack so that is enough for a lifetime. Shipped very quick and so far they are great quality, I will update if anything changes. I ordered the small ones for the small swiss army classic knife. 5Restores Swiss Army knife scissors I wish I had found out about these years earlier. I have more than one classic Swiss Army knife with less-than-usable scissors, which have now been restored with these spring replacements. Do a Google search for an instruction video on how to install them, and you should be set. I believe the springs go in one way, and I used a set of pliers to set them in. 5AWESOME PRODUCT, AWESOME PRICE!!!!!!! These are great and should help me fix my VIctorinox Swiss Army Knife I got years ago! I have yet to use them but will post an update on when I do! They are official and not cheap knockoffs and are in perfect brand new condition with not signs of any corrosion or scratches. They came as advertised and are really great! I can't wait to use them! 5An easy fix to a persistent problem I love my little Swiss Army knives. I own a bunch of them because...unfortunately...the often-used scissor spring doesn't last as long as the rest of the knife. I don't blame the manufacturer because I appreciate how brittle thin stainless steel can be. But I often wondered if replacement springs were available. As usual, Amazon came to the rescue.I bought these little springs and restored all of my knives to like-new status. I now keep one on my keychain, one in the car, one in my briefcase....you get the idea.Installation is not difficult, but does require a bit of trial and error. Push the old spring out with a thumbtack or straightened paper clip. The paperclip is also useful to align the scissor hole with the curl in the spring. Gentle coaxing with needle nose pliers will slide the spring into position. The first one will take you about 5 minutes, but the second one will be done in 30 seconds.Buy a few of these springs to get your small knives out of the drawer and back into action. 5Easier than thought. Very pleased. Fit perfectly for the small Victorinox pocket knife.Got it in two pocket knifes in less than 5 minutes. Never done it before.1. You need good light. Suggest a headband light.2. Tiny eyeglass type screwdriver. Mine fit perfectly in the hole. It was the tiniest screwdriver in the set. You will need it to push out the old spring and to make sure you align it a teeny bit more right after you get the new one on.3. A good thumb fingernail.4. Align with hole and slot. Slot first, twist and snap in the round part with fingernail!!THAT'S IT, YOU'RE DONE! You don't need all the crap others tell you. Pins, needles, pliers and all that other crap. 5A small blow against our throwaway culture After Homeland Security, snapped scissors springs are my biggest cause of lost penknife function. These replacements work great against one of these threats. I actually found that using two needle nose pliers made it a lot easier to install these, after removing the old spring. The trick is to get the spring aligned squarely next to the hole so that it just slides in with a little push from the second pliers. If it's sitting at an angle it won't slide in. The photo shows the new spring being held in place so the curled part of the spring is aligned with the hole at the base of the scissors. Once you get this far, you come in with the second pliers (or perhaps finger - I didn't try that) to push it home. How gratifying to be able to repair and extend the lifetime of a gadget rather than dispose and replace! 5Don t buy a new knife, install a replacement spring In the past when the scissor spring broke, I d suffer for a while then buy a new knife. This product is definitely value for the price. You might have to shape the end a bit, but a couple minutes with needle nose pliers and the spring was installed. 5Awesome I stumbled upon these by accident and I really glad I did. I had a couple little knives sitting around that I no longer used because of the broken springs. Now I am able to use them again. I am very impressed. It was a little difficult to install the first one, but after a bit of practice, the other ones were much easier. These really work. If you have any little knives lying around with broken springs, buy these replacement springs and bring them back to life. 5No More Broken Spring for Me! Broken springs on Swiss Army knives have irritated me for decades. Now, thanks to the wonders of Amazon and the interwebs, broken springs shall irk me no more!. It was a little bit tricky to get the new spring into the tiny little hole on my Swiss Army Classic SD Knife. After reading several other reviewer's suggestions, I armed myself with a thumb tack, small paper clip, awl, tiny eyeglass-sized awl, needle nose pliers, and a pair of round tip jewelry pliers and tried my luck. I pried the old broken spring out with the needled nose pliers. Then, I made the hole on the new spring a bit smaller using the paperclip and jewelry pliers. I was then more easily able to slip the new spring into the itty-tiny hole on the scissors using the paper clip to line up the holes. Finally, I used the jewlery pliers and regular pliers to push the new spring into place. To make sure it stayed in place after all my futzing, I stuck the tip of the thumbtack into the hole of the spring, which snugged it better into place and re-enlarged the hole in the spring that I had previously squeezed down. (For brevity, I'm not including any of my failed maneuvers.) This was actually a pretty quick fix that took much less time than I have spent writing writing this review. 5
