    Under side is not water tightWhile the brass disc has an O-ring, the soldered cable connection has a simple dust cap that is not water tight. I used some gutter sealer on the dust cap, otherwise the conductors, solder and brass bottom are exposed to water full time. This is only an issue if you're using a lip mount or angle bracket where the underside would be exposed to the elements. If the under side of your hood, cab or trunk is wet, you have bigger problems. 4Good mount for the moneyGood quality mount for the money. Sometimes a bit tough to pull the cable with the PL-259 already attached. 5So far so good!Works so far. Wired my 2M mobile rig into my pickup with the antenna mounted to the front of the bed with just enough slack. 5Works great, but as a precaution I coated the bottom ...Works great, but as a precaution I coated the bottom (the underside where the coax is joined to the mount) with liquid electrical tape to keep water out. 5That was easy!Installed this yesterday. The hole making process always feels like a crap shoot....but with a stepper bit it was no problem.Easy to install. Long enough. and there is a rubber grommet set into the screw down bezel. Smart design.Seems to perform well...but those gains/differences are likely from the antenna...as they should be.High quality item at a great price. 5Perfect for my ham radio installPerfect for my ham radio install. Pretty straight forward piece. Cable was plenty long to run from center of roof on 2014 Silverado, down the frame between front and rear door on drivers side, along the floor boad to the front, across the front and back to the center console where radio is mounted with about 1' to spare. Install took about 5 minutes overall and did not need to hold the piece from the underside to screw on the thread. Very happy with its performance as well. If you are comfortable putting a Pl259 connector on the end, you can get away with a smaller hole on the roof. But the 3/4" hole needed is just big enough for the Pl259 plug end to fit down through the hole 5Works great!The cable works great and was easy to install. High quality connectors on both ends. If you need a NMO mount with a PL259 connector - this is your cable. 5Good threadsI've gotten other NMO mounts that had poor threads...not this one.Clean threads on both parts...easy install.Bonus...I didn't have to fix bad solder joints like alot of the cheaper mounts require. 5Four StarsEasily installed in the roof of my truck. Drill a hole and tighten. No leaks. 4Tram is a good brand but it s not A/UThe listing says RG 58. But it is really the cheaper stranded A/U. Grant it that it s minimal additional loss. But I was specifically looking for the solid core. 3
