Customer Reviews

Great Mount for the PriceWe have been using this in the corner of our living room for over two years. It hasn't failed us (yet)! We installed it correctly, as far as I know, but the weight of the TV pulled it slightly off level. Not enough to notice visually, so not a real problem.4Not that adjustable. It's not that adjustable so you much be sure you need to check your measurements. I had to return it. But overall good quality. 3No good if studs 18" apartI purchased this in 2016 and only recently (Jan 2019) got around to putting it up.Sadly, the studs on my wall are 18" apart, and the last working holes on the bracket are BARELY 16" apart (see photo).Didn't see this would be a problem in any of the description or reviews, and this bracket MUST be screwed solidly into wooden studs or concrete to support the weight safely.I think if your studs are 12" to 16" apart, it should work fine.Sadly, I cannot return this, so posting this review to prevent this happening to someone else!1Not as describedThe bracket that arrived was *not* the same bracket shown in the picture. The picture showed the TV mount (the part that attaches to the TV) as being a single piece with the mount being part of the design. The bracket that arrived had the mount point welded on (see attached picture). The bracket I was sent did not look as sturdy as the one in the picture on the listing. It's entirely possible that the different design is well engineered and can adequately support the rated weight. But I'm really not interested in finding out.1Pretty good mount, only 1 problem.Works pretty good on a 60 inch led tv. Does everything it is supposed to do except it is a little tough to move the arms out and doesn't feel as strong as my other mount that is similar. A little hard to swivel the TV and mine is only 55 lbs.4No room for connectionsIf your TV has ANY hookups that protrude straight out the back (video, audio, cable TV, etc. This won't work. There's not enough clearance between TV & wall.3Wow. VERY STRONG, STURDY and LESS than $40!!! Just Amazing...I read All the Reviews. After seeing a few 'Negatives" I came to the conclusion that there are just some people who should NOT be allowed near tools of any kind!!! I am a aircraft/motorcycle mechanic and I see what some non mechanically inclined people can do to the simplest of operations....it can be pitiful!!!So. This TV mount is Very Well Designed and built. I mounted a 32 inch flat screen Coby to our bedroom wall with it and it works VERY Well!!! FOLLOWING the INSTRUCTIONS, I marked and drilled 3 5/32 'pilot holes' into a stud behind the plaster wall. A "Stud Finder" works very well for this. The 3 Very Large and Strong Screws were 'lubricated with soap' and run All the Way into the wooden stud. By the way, it takes a #3 Phillips tip driver to do this! If you don't know a #3 from a #2, you probably shouldn't be doing this kind of job yourself! A #2 Phillps tip WILL 'strip' and ruin both the tip and the screw (noted in some other reviews by non skilled tool people!) The TV mounted easily to the mount, and in fact DOES have holding screws from the bottom. ( another reviewer stated the TV just 'hangs' from the mount. he has to be included in my 'moron' category of do-it-your-selfers and should not be allowed near any kind of tools!!!) The TV 'tilt' screws DO work very well! IF you 'LOOSEN' them before making your 'tilt' adjustment and 'snug' them after your desired amount of TILT is set, it holds VERY WELL and does in fact NOT sag in the least. My TV is very sturdy, there is NO shake or movement, and it is fairly easy to 'pull out' or 'push in' and pivot the viewing angle. There is a lot of space behind the TV to mount the power strip, and all the cables are hung up and out of the way where you can't see them from the bed. A simple glass shelf, also from Amazon ($20!) sits below the TV and holds the cable box and DVD player. Overall a very simple, effective and sturdy mount and I couldn't be more satisfied (unless it was free and came with free installation, lol...)I shopped HH Greg, Best Buy, Walmart and Home Depot and other stores and didn't see anything in this category for less than $100, so I think this is the best price you will find for a 3 way adjustable TV wall mount in this size/weight range anywhere. With Free Super Saver Shipping, it couldn't be easier or cheaper!!!If there are any negatives at all about this product, I would say that the instructions are not made for lawyers, professional students or anybody that likes to read. They are simply 'pictures' and 'quantities', which I find similar to blueprints and some mechanical drawings. You probably have to already have some building knowlege or common sense before understanding what they mean... For instance, the instructions don't TELL you what size pilot hole to drill for the mounting screws... you should already have some UNDERSTANDING of pilot holes and screws and screw drivers before you hang heavy objects from your (own or rental) walls...FIVE STARS FROM ME, THE MECHANIC!!! Thanks Amazon!!!5Ok mounting gearVery nice tv wall mount hardware with several small exceptions. 1. Samsung 40 tv would not mount with screws provided. Additional screws needed to be acquired. Vendor sent them separately. 2. Bracket that mounts to the tv is 1/2 inch higher than the Samsung so if you look you can see it protrude over the top of the tv. Looks a little tacky but works. 3. If you do no precisely center the tv on the wall receiver the tv will not level and will tilt down in the direction that you are off center. Too much slack in the construction of the unit.On the plus side great folks at the toll free number, good price and relatively easy to put together.3Really? Phillips head lag bolts?Only problem was the Phillip head lag bolts. Couldn't get them to go in without stripping heads. I used multiple bits and got a couple in. Stopped by Walmart and got some hex head lags and finished the job.Side note I almost got the tilt mount but figured it wasn't a big deal. Wish I would have to reduce glare. But that was my fault.4As described, heavy duty, I liked the arm extension, the longest I could find. The swivel is easy to move and not sloppy. 5EZ install. Tilts up/down. Holds our heavy 55 Installed much easier than I thought it would be. In fact, it was easier to install than a much smaller tv mount I put up recently. It holds the weight of our 55 TV very well.It does not swivel - which is good because I didn t want that.It does tilt up/down easily, which is great because it allows you to adjust angles in case of light reflection, etc... And would be great for a movie night where you have guests (kids?) sitting on the floor.Your installation will vary, depending on where your wall studs and electrical are located. In my case, the electrical outlet was directly in the center of the two cross-beams. In order not to smash the TV plug, I ordered and installed a surge protector with a flat plug head that I then zip-tied to the upper portion of the mount. This is highly recommended if your electrical is similarly-situated. It ll prevent your TV plug from getting smashed AND has the added benefit of additional outlets Incase you ever want to plug additional items in behind your tv (like an Amazon Prime TV Stick, for example).5Still amazed at how close to the wall this is I have purchased 3 of these for all of my Tv's! Since the first one I installed I am HOOKED on these that now I want to wall mount EVERY Tv in the house, LOL.These are very easy to install. You just need to make sure you know what you're doing when it comes to finding the studs. THAT, I tell You, is the most important step, otherwise you might have a tv worth hundreds or thousands end up on the floor the next morning. So in short, if you're handy even just a little, You can handle this project! Take it on and good luck! 5The screws are what matters. This was purchased for a 39" TV. The price is right. It easily attaches to the TV. The only question is if you need to use the spaces or not. The directions do not give guidance. The directions for mounting to the wall provide enough information. The only problem we ran into was using the screws that come with the mount. The directions say to drill a 1/8" pilot hole. That seemed too small and the screws were hard to turn, even when soap was used. A size up drill bit is probably what should have been called for. After backing the screws out and applying more soap, 2 of the 3 screws went in easy. The 3rd screw was going in easy, but the head broke off with the screw in the hole just as it was almost tightened. I was using a battery powered screwdriver on the manual setting because the larger diameter made it easy to use than a normal screwdriver. A trip to the hardware store for new screws ended with the store employing telling me I should not have been able to turn the head off the screw. I drilled new pilot homes for the #14 screws I purchased (that appears to be the size screws that come with the mount) based on information I found online and the mount was easier install. I didn't use the other 2 screws that came with the mount for concern over the quality of the material.I suggest purchasing the same size wood screws instead of using what comes with the kit and using plenty of soap to help make it easier to attach the mount to the wall.4
