    There's a right tool and a wrong tool for the job... If it's the wrong tool it can be made to be right! This is a crowfoot wrench not a barrel nut wrench. The wrench dimensions are 2.99" long x 2.12" wide x 0.6" thick with a standard wrench opening for 1-1/8" (actual opening 1.14" wide x 1" deep)nut.That being said I am using this for a barrel nut, but I bought this knowing i would need to modify it because I am not that naive to think it was made for a barrel nut. My actual barrel nut is 1-5/32 x 0.45 wide so I needed to mill the wrench opening 0.032" wider to 1-5/32 and mill the wrench thickness from 0.6" down to .44" thick. NOW it is a wrench for a barrel nut. Barrel nut will be different by manufacturer but I can tell you you will most likely need to at least mill the thickness from 0.6" to anything less than 0.5" for most barrel nuts.After the mods it works perfectly on my barrel nut and torque wrench.So for those people that bought this tool for barrel nut(from the reviews, there are several), and gave this tool a bad review because, " it didn't work," it's because you purchased the incorrect tool for the job and you do not have the "know how" to make it work, IMHO you should stick to being a spectator.I have added before and after modification photos for your viewing pleasure. 5Thick! Thicker than automotive wrench can cause some clearance issues1 I had to return it because it was too thick to fit in the nut recess (note a nut recess, not an actual nut where that wouldn't be an issue). I compared it to the automotive grade combination wrench I had, and this crow foot was thicker which caused access issues unfortunately. 4Absolutely the worst blow mold cases possible. Couldn't be made worst if you tried. Terrible cases, worst I've ever seen. Absolutely disappointing. No space or time to deal with these. Ashamed to say it but my Proto 12point rails take the abuse from my 1/2 drive Impact. Isn't worth the space in either of my job boxes to try to deal with these cases. If I was a mechanic and had slide rail drawers... I'd have tossed the cases and reviewed the sockets but the cases fall apart first use and the sockets go everywhere and I don't have the time nor patience to deal with these. 1For the money you can t beat them! For the price you can t beat them at all! Keep them in my service truck and beat them everyday! No problems what so ever! The wallson these sockets are thinner then my cornwell and snapon stuff so I can fit them in a tighter spot. I have Zero complaints about these sockets! Note: I beat these sockets like they owe me money on Quarry equiptment and haven t had a problem yet! 5barrel nut wrench i know this isn't designed for barrel nuts, but it fit my barrel nut with out issue. i had no issues torquing it down. good, hefty product. i do see that if you have a different style barrel nut where the flats are towards the receiver, the product is a bit thick, but i don't have that issue. 5Very high quality compared to store brands I have this and all master sets in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 in both sae and metric. The metric sets seem to have more sockets than the sae but Im not complaining. Ive had these for one month and although im just a lube tech I have done some wheel seals and wrenched on some nasty stuff and these sockets seem to be very stout and will last me even when I get stronger impact guns. Get the ones with the wobble and extensions. Those pieces are just as high quality. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who relies on impact sockets on a daily basis. 5Sturdy Workhorse Need a crowfoot in this size?Get this guy!I expect this to be the last 1 1/8inch crowfoot I'll ever need, even though I reduced the teeth from the originalI expect under normal use this wouldn't be necessary, but for my application I found that I needed to reduce the "height" of the crowfoot portion to connect to my Torque wrench for fit onto the barrel nut I was torquing. The crowfoot wrench was too wide for the 1 1/8 section of the nut to fit on, so I reduced the .7" width (the surface with SUNEX, symbol, and 1-1/8") of the metal to fit onto the nut by approximately .2". But after heavy filing and a quick polish with sandpaper, it gave way to sweat. The METAL IS TOUGH... which is good and something you want in a wrench. 5Perfect for palmetto state armory barrel nut. If you have a PSA free float handguard for an AR-15 this crowfoot is perfect for the barrel nut. 5Serious socket set This is a serious socket set. I've not yet used these, but I am very impressed with this set already. This is a big, heavy set in a large, sturdy case. I've had these sitting in my Amazon shopping cart for years and I now that I finally ordered them and they arrived, I was immediately regretful that I didn't order them sooner. 5Good Crowfoot Wrench The item arrived quickly and looks like a quality product. I've been happy with it thus far. It does what it's supposed to. I can't comment on durability yet. But it's been holding just fine thus far. 4
