Strong water stream and shorter showersI stayed at a Las Vegas hotel that had this shower head. I got the info from the head itself, took a photo with my phone camera, and matched it up with Amazon. It even had the teflon tape for the pipe thread. It was very easy to install.The water stream is strong so it washes the shampoo and soap off faster. The result is shorter showers.I am going to buy another one for the other shower. It is reasonably priced. Delivery was fast and flawless. 5Top of the Line. Superior Product. No Need to remove a Pressure Reducer.Not sure if the negative reviews actually received the same product.Packaging: Speaking OEM packaging; heavy construction cardboard. Product inside wrapped again in protective paper. Instruction card included. Plumber tape included.Bracket: Metal. Feels sturdy and heavy. The instructions say to wrench tighten the bracket, which to me says it if isn't metal, it's the strongest, heaviest plastic I have ever seen. But it is metal. Says so in the description as well. I feel bad for those who got a plastic bracket.Hose: Metal hose, plastic connections. The hose is fabulous. Not the stupid plastic hoses most of these come with.Hose connection to handheld sprayer: Plastic. Easily hand tightened. I don't think the people who broke this know what "hand-tighten" means. It doesn't mean crank on the thing as hard as you can with your hands. It means tighten it until it stops with only modest force. Do this, run the shower. It if dribbles some water, tighten a bit more. In my experience, I did a light hand tightening, ran the shower. No leaks. But it did have a bit more give to it after, so I hand tightened again. Voila.Hose connection to bracket: Plastic. Easily hand tightened. Same as above. There are even clear labels on which end goes to the sprayer and which goes to the bracketHandheld Sprayer: Plastic. It feels lightweight, but once you attach the hose and have water running, it feels quite sturdy in actual use. The spray pattern is incredible. Absolutely full coverage. So many more sprayers than most of these. The pressure is incredible. I would say easily twice as good as our Waterpik this replaced (both 2.5 GPM).Pressure reducer: Mine didn't have the typical small washer that most of these have. I'm sure there is a reducer, but you absolutely won't know it. 5BEST SHOWER HEAD I'VE EVER HADI've been through countless shower-heads. Never enough pressure. Either you get a really powerful jetstream concentrated in one small area, or a flimsy wide spray. This shower-head is superb! I was hesitant because reviews said it is plastic, but most shower-heads are nowadays. It has an array of sprays. The jet stream is like a triangle and it shoots out at a diagonal angle so it covers a larger area. Makes washing and rinsing hair so much easier! Just installed it yesterday and I already purchased the second one for my mom. It already comes with the additional shower-head holder that can be attached to tile with adhesive or screws. 5Pressure not the bestI bought this based off of the customer reviews of really nice water pressure. I installed it and was highly disappointed with the pressure coming out of this thing. When I switch it to the steady center stream it can't produce it and water comes out the spray section as well. Unlike the other reviewer, I was pleased with the hose itself. Overall quality of the physical device itself seems good. I just can't get excited about this model because of the lack of pressure it produces. It is as weak as the one I replaced it with. I will keep trying other brands that claim to boost pressure and when I find one, I will update this review with the info I find. 3Do not waste your moneyI would give it a 0 if I could. It leaks everywhere def. does not hold up to its name. I have had many showerheads by Speakman and none like this. I tried to contact customer service several times and no response. I sent images of the product leaking from where the shower head connects to the hose and still no response. I should have returned it right away, but I wanted to give Speakman the benefit to make things right..Absolutely disappointing. 1This is a fine showerhead, BUT...... if pressure is the god of your shower world this might fall short for you. The 2.5 gpm pressure is by no means weak, and it easily surpassed the unit I replaced. But you cannot remove the restrictor so you get what you get. If you were a guest at someone's home or a motel and got under this, you'd say, "oh, nice shower". But you would not break out in song over it. Having addressed pressure, everything else was perfect. Installation was a snap, even for a tool retard like me. I really did not even need the wrench, and was pleased after the first shower to find no drips, no leakage. I did use some extra tape. Most of this is plastic but that helps make it a value buy. Subject to the foregoing caveat about water pressure, I recommend it. 4Crappy hose, great customer service.Hose was worthless, has plastic fittings. I installed it properly with plumbers tape and put the right side to the water source. Thing leaked between the fitting and the hose. Fortunately, Speakman has great customer service. They replaced the garbage hose with model VS-157, which is all metal. No leaking and only hand tightening required. So one star for the product and five stars for Speakman customer service and the replacement part. 3High Quality, good pressure, good priceI've had several Speakman regular fixed shower heads over the last 30 years. This is the first Speakman handheld I've had, and it's a winner. It produces really good pressure on the wide spray and pounds well on the massage setting. I like a good hard shower and this one is good and hard, (but not so hard that it hurts). I haven't found a way to remove the flow-limiters because they are brass and built-in. But I don't think I really need to. The good pressure along with the 4" head will really rinse soap and shampoo quickly and thoroughly. The mount is really metal, the hose is really metal. The head and handle are metal-colored plastic, but it seems really solid. Some people don't like these plastic heads, but they won't break a bone if you drop it on your foot (or your child). Naturally, because of conservation law, shower heads are never going to be as pressurized as in the 1960's but this one is the best I've had. 4After trying 7 other handheld shower heads...this one is worth keepingWe just remodeled our old bathroom. The old handheld (looked about 10 years old) worked fine, rinced my hair well, etc. It was never a wonderful shower experience, but it was a good shower. We put in new pipes, new valves, new shower set, and while it all looks beautiful, the pressure just seemed less than before. The plumber said it was because of the new valves in the wall. New regulations for conserving water were making for a disappointing new shower experience. So I started playing "musical showerheads". There was the Vida one that came with our set...weak and soft sprays. There was the Aquabrass...weaker and softer still, if that was even possible. Next, a Moen...not enough improvement to merit the price at $80. Next, a Waterpick that had more power but horrible spray patterns. I returned a Delta H2O which was interesting but didn't quite feel right. It did feel like more water, big rain drops actually. Felt nice from the back but when you turned to face it, it was like a torrential rain hitting you in the face. Not so pleasant. Another Waterpick with different spray pattern...I almost kept this one, but it had a large hole in the middle and did not give adequate coverage. And a Premier handheld, which arrived broken. Now before anyone says I am just picky, I went into my bathroom reno saying I like a firm shower experience, and when you spend all that money on a new bathroom, you want it to be as right as possible. I am not looking for perfection, I just don't want to be disappointed. Now we come to the Speakman Neo. Some other reviews, gave it one star, because it is plastic, and maybe at some point in history, they were make out of metal. Yes its plastic. Is it cheap and flimsy? Not by a long shot. Besides, these days, just about every showerhead is plastic, be it a very pricey Grohe or a top of the line Delta or Moen. Just because it is made out of plastic, doesn't make it cheap. Finally, I am keeping this handheld. This shower head has stronger spray than all but the last Waterpick (I would say they are on par). Where this Speakman wins is in its spray patterns. They are great. The nozzels overlap their spray so there is no hole in the middle. That's the best part...full coverage. It's nice from the back, and from the front. The spray is good enough to rince my hair, but I think I will be changing it to the massage setting if I need a deeper rince. I also like how this handheld looks. A little angular, a little edgy. Looks does count for something. So despite all the watersaving regulations, I finally have an enjoyable shower. Is it perfect? No, its not as firm as I had wished for, but it was an uphill climb and this Speakman won. I like it, and that is high praise :-) 4Years and years of trying to find a good shower headYears and years of trying to find a good shower head. I stayed at an Embassy Suites recently and loved their shower head. Very powerful and easily adjustable. I noted the name...Speakman. Checked Amazon when I got home and there it was (Model VS-3010 High Pressure). The exact same head. Expecting the possibility that the hotel may have had more powerful water pressure than I had at home, I was skeptical, but ordered it anyway. Installed it and was not disappointed. Probably 3 times the pressure I had on the one I replaced. Excellent! I love it when a plan comes together. 5
