Customer Reviews

A white-knuckled thrill ride that will shove you back in your seat!Seeking to satisfy your passion for a truly great techno-thriller? Does just the right read always deliver exceptionally powerful, truly memorable characters? Hungry for a superbly crafted story line with a pace that threatens to blow the text right off the page? A story which, at one and the same time, provokes, enlightens, challenges and threatens to scare the livin' hoo-ha out of you in the process? Then look no further. It's right here, right now, right at your Kindle-tips! A seasoned and brilliant writer, Keith Ellis has managed to craft a searing story line with its own racing pulse. Song of Thunder is not only built for plot speed but holds your interest from 0-100 wpm and back again. A joy ride, absolutely. And when you least expect it, the comfortably brainy and athletic story line will stop in a single heartbeat --turn on an exclamation mark-- and thunder off in a cloud of printer spray heading in a brand new direction. And no reader will ever think twice about hanging on. An exceptional change-up thriller, with shades of Old School plot switchbacks framed by a wonderfully conceived, masterfully turned-out, racer's-edge barn burner of a page-turner. NOT TO BE MISSED! 5Thunder and Lightning!WARNING! Don't begin to read this book unless you are prepared to read it all, RIGHT NOW!I found Song of Thunder to be a fast-paced, suspenseful, intriguing "thriller," but I was also impressed with the craft Keith Ellis brings to his first novel. Ellis's writing makes John Thunder a believable, admirable and fascinating character. And the plot just rocketed along, taking me with it. I couldn't wait to find out how it ends, but at the same time, I didn't want to run out of pages to read. What a marvelous story! You'll be talking about the book and the characters and situations in it for months. But try not to finish it like I did - at 3:30 in the morning! Remember, you were warned.... 5Are you for real ?!I bought this book on my Kindle based on the 5 star reviews, but hell, it was disappointing. The book is all about a Mr.Thunder. This guy is a sort of super Rambo. In my opinion the story starts and ends already there. The scenario of the book is so highly fantasy that it is almost comedy instead of a techno thriller. Mr.Thunder is able to kill platoons of Navy SEALs with it's bare hands, but let's the computerwizz girl alone in an rented motel room, she will get abducted by about everyone in the world, after which Mr.Thunder will get here back time and time again. In the mean time the world gets pounded by atomic bombs as well as prevented from total destruction by the computerwizz.MMMMmmm to much for this one book. I would recommend the writer to take 1 or 2 of these plots in mind and get some depth in it. For readers looking for a good techno thriller/war story get to Dale Brown or Brad Thor. 2A must read... can't wait for the movie! If you are a fan of thought provoking thrillers this is a MUST READ! Keith Ellis drives Song of Thunder with a fresh approach and a writing style that manages to bring you into the story in a way that is rarely seen anymore. His main character is perfectly developed in a way that makes you feel that you know him as soon as Ellis presents him in the story. The plot is firmly grounded in reality with characters that display the kind of courage and intelligence that actually leave you feeling GOOD by the end of the story. This is truly one of those books that you pick up and can't put down until you've devoured the whole thing. Do yourself a favor and get this book. You'll be able to tell people that you were in on the ground floor of a great new author and be greatly entertained in the meantime. Highly recommended and I can't wait for his next effort. Many thanks to Mr. Ellis for a book worth every penny of its price! 5Why buy a second time?I bought "Quantum Ethics" (Keith Ellis) for my Kindle some time ago. Imagine my delight to see a second book listed by this author, "Song of Thunder." Then imagine my DISGUST in finding it is the same book (with some added material) as "Quantum Ethics." I am curious; how many people got sucked into buying "Song of Thunder" only to find they had been RIPPED OFF by Kindle reissuing an older book with a new title. If you own or have read "Quantum Ethics" don't waste your money on "Song of Thunder." And vise versa. Come on Kindle - if it's not new, why sell it. I doubt you would accept your customers to pay you with money copied from the real thing. That would be called counterfeiting. 1Song of ThunderJust finished it! I love a book that keeps me thinking of it even after I had to put it down for awhile. This was one of those books. Well written, great characters with plenty of action and drama. Only one drawback for me, IT WOULDN'T END!!! How many times do the hero's need to save the world? It started getting boring after the air force capt. destroyed the final (not final) missile, Then Cassy needed to do it all over again, then the whole marine one argument, then the Chinese need to try and save themselves, and ooops! our missile's that went to Russia were destroyed easily and quickly while the one's we sent flying OVER Russia into China caused yet more drama. A good read but it needed a quicker ending. (I can't believe I just said that) 4Great Read for all ages!Song of Thunder was a GREAT Read!!! I really liked the fact that even though the story had a lot to do with technology, the Author didn't overwhelm me with a lot of technical jargon that I didn't understand. I stopped reading the last Clancy book because of that. Gimme a good well developed story with cool plot twists and interesting characters!! I sure wish the GOD was technology was available now... I'd trade in the piece of crap I am writing this review on tomorrow if that was the case.Does anyone know if this Ellis dude has any more books out? This can't be his first book. Hey Amazon...he even gives a shout out about how cool the Kindle is in his book!!! You don't need the press but it was neat to see him do that.I read a lot of stuff on my Kindle but I got this one in paperback before I had a Kindle.... I think I will Kindle it and read it again! 5A ripping good yarn -- and an unnerving prediction of the futureKeith Ellis' new powerhouse read, "Song of Thunder". will resonate in the reader's mind long after her or she finishes feverishly turning the pages. It's that good. Ellis' obvious mastery of the idiom, coupled with a thorough understanding of the technology, assure that the most tech-savvy reader will feel right at home, along with the rest of us who just enjoy a stirring, involving read. The character of Thunder is fascinating -- a man equally at home in the wilderness, in the halls of Washington, DC power, and in the hi-tech, high-stakes world of cutting-edge technology. After finishing the book -- and a sad moment that was (I was tempted to start all over again) -- I thought that two things were warranted: a sequel (soon please), and a major motion picture. I spent some time brainstorming ideal casting, with friends who had also read the book, but I'm not going to spoil your fun by telling you who got the nod. When all is said and done, you'll care about the characters and you'll worry about the probability of just such a scenario happening one day very soon. So run, don't walk, to get a copy of this fine book for yourself. Soon you'll be singing the "Song of Thunder"! 5More than a thriller...Song of Thunder is more than a thriller. It bravely tackles the scariest and biggest questions of our day. Through his vivid characters' conversations, actions and backgrounds, the author has a way of bringing those questions to life in scenarios that really did keep me on the edge of my seat. Somehow he even gives the characters a sense of humor to keep them (and the reader) sane through it all..This book would make a great movie. It's packed with action and twists and turns so make sure you take your blood pressure medicine before reading this book. 5And then along came Jones.Too many larger than life characters. Too many times the hero arrives just in time to save the day. Too many coincidences. And sometimes the author's scene setting descriptions get too long. Then why do I rate it five stars? Because despite all that it's a damn good story! -- it's the best novel I've read in a long time. It contains many deep and thought provoking reflections. Also I don't remember a single typo, which is unusual for any novel. 5
