Description

Meet King Antiochus, coming very soon to an Apocalypse near you. When he died 21 centuries ago he never passed on; instead his spirit waited for resurrection. He's been preparing for his return, watching humanity until its fruit ripened, ready to be harvested for the New Age. To Christians Antiochus defines Antichrist. He is the "abomination in the holy place" who Jesus warned about. The "little horn" of the prophet Daniel who needs no God other than himself. He is also brilliant, supremely powerful, and capable of saving humanity from self-destruction. It's a recipe for Armageddon. Along the way meet Darianna, the beguiling queen of Antiochus reincarnated as the wife of an archeologist, who discovers his secret burial place beneath Mt. Nemrut, Turkey - a fantastic mountaintop sanctuary and historic site. Also meet Akbar, a local villager whose life is upended after learning that he lived before, long ago, but has a hard road ahead to finding out who he was in that past life. Then meet Demetrius and his two Brothers when they emerge from obscurity to lead a movement of peace and enlightenment based from Mt. Nemrut in Turkey, the sacred mountain. Three spiritual masters, followers of Antiochus, creating reality with their minds and teaching others The Way. Readers will meet more fascinating characters as they follow Antiochus from his first miraculous announcement to his Second Coming: an old-time preacher who sees the Antichrist at work; an atheist scientist confronted by proof of spiritual existence; a young brother worried about the people he loves embroiled in world-changing events; two Jewish sisters, descended from Judas Maccabeus, who take up their family cause to fight an ancient enemy they can't even prove exists. And more. Call it New Age, occult, or end times fiction, supernatural thriller or Christian fantasy - fans of many different genres will find something (and someone) to love in Something Coming by J.M. DeBord! Customer Reviews

Great Read - a real page turnerI finished "Something Coming" and must say, "Well done!" I loved that bewitching character, Darianna. And that ending! I will not spoil it for readers. If I remember right , Mt. Nemrut and Antiochus (the main setting and character) were real figures from history. And those two Jewish gals descended from Judas Maccabee were very interesting. Antiochus wanting to be reincarnated as super king and turns out to be ... Well again, I won't spoil it.The idea of a second coming is prominent in nearly all religions. The Christians believe that Christ is coming back to judge the world and Satan. He will bring in a period of one thousand years of peace and perfection. Christian believes there will be a seven-year period when all hell breaks lose, called the Tribulation. There will be severe judgment rained down on the earth. It is described vividly in the book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible. Satan will appear in fleshly form as the Antichrist, similar to how the author presents Antiochus in "Something Coming", except with an interesting twist so that we're not sure what he really is.The idea of an archaeological dig is fascinating. Finding more than just archaeological artifacts makes it even more interesting. Finding something supernatural? The author peaked my interest and had my attention from start to finish. I love to read stories about the second coming and end times. I am a Christian, but of course the novel paints a much wider picture than just what one religion can offer. But it is fiction. The reader must remember that. I hope no one gets hung up on the facts, it is fiction, painted wellI can't wait to read the follow-up.Again, well done.Bubba Meister 5Somrthing's ComingThe imagery is rich, the characters likable, and the story seems facinating. But oh! This book is hard work to read because the sentences and paragraphs are so poorly constructed that the reader can't follow what the author is trying to say! I was sorry to finally give up, after struggling through 11 chapters. This book could truly benefit greatly from a good editor, and then be reissued as a new edition ...then I'd like to try it again. 1Be Ready for a Story that is Rich and Challenging"Something Coming" reminds me slightly of Frank Herbert's "Dune" series, but without the dense but made up mythology and religion. The author has a deep understanding of real time, place, culture and philosophy that might be daunting for the reader who journeys deeper into the book and series. However, the characterizations, descriptive prose and flow of events will steal the heart and test the spirit of the lucky reader who stays with it. This book is highly recommended for anyone who can imagine, read deeply and stay immersed in a complex and rich new world order. 3I keep coming!I keep coming back to this book!I love the way DeBord weaves ancient mysteries and captures the current global zeitgeist. The characters jump off the page and into your psyche conjuring archetypal opposing energies of epic proportions.I loved this book and can't wait for DeBords' next offering. 5Surprising Indie AuthorI will admit that I am a bit surprised at the talent of this Indie Author. The writing style of this author can be put on the list with most of the well established authors of our time. The material appears to be very well researched and presented in a very "cerebral" story. It leaves you with many questions as to the future of mankind and how careful we should be in choosing the ones we follow. My only negative on the book is the ending. It was very abrupt for me and I was not expecting it. It was like watching a television show and suddenly, 'To Be Continued', pops up on the screen. Of course, now I will have to decide if I want to know the ending by getting the next book. 4Brilliant, exciting, fun!Something Coming synthesizes the world's numerous spiritualities, with history, with the contest between the Light and the dark, with adventure, depth of character and suspense. It's a "must read" for people who love to explore philosophies and ideologies in totally absorbing fiction.DSG - South Dakota 5A poorly contstructed piece of crap.Save your money!A mess of new age crap masquerading as I don't know what. It has little to do with Christian endtime saga or anything Christian as a matter of fact.Sentences and paragraphs are also poorly constructed thus making it a rather boring read as well. 1Future blockbuster?A real page-turner! I have to say I was disappointed at the abrupt ending, but realized then that there is a second book coming....I have a sneaky suspicion that this is going to be a future blockbuster. Hollywood, are you listening? 4Answering the Question - is there a second coming?Something Coming is a spell-binding journey across time, through inner space and back to a jarring reality. The characters are richly drawn and have your heart aching through their epic struggles and triumphs. Ancient mysteries are explained and new mysteries are created. J.M. DeBord spins a tale that seems to mirror our own unfolding world. I look forward to the "something more coming."Dona McNeillHolly Springs, NC 5
