I need help!I bought this keyboard/mouse ~3 months ago. The keyboard no longer works at all. The red light on the upper right corner rapidly blinks. I have tried removing/replacing the batteries. The mouse works great still but I also rebooted the computer with the USB in another port. I am unable to reach the seller as its been longer than a month. It's a beautiful set and very comfortable to use. I need help! 1Looks great, functionality...not so much.First the pro: It looks great, and very solidly built. The price point is very competitive compared to other wood and bamboo keyboard sets, and the mouse is a keeper. Very smooth operation, the distance it can transmit to the receiver is excellent, and the accuracy is very very good.The cons: That same "solidly built" characteristic is the one that gives it a 2 star for comfort. The first thing you will notice about the keyboard is how difficult it is to type. The keys are very very very rigid and the old manual typewriter pressure is the only thing I can compare it to (not electric....manual...yes I used those before they were a thing with Hipsters).Sometimes the keys will not register and you have to go back to redo it until you get into the "slamming" of your typing style to ensure the proper contact on the stiff keys.There is no indicator light for CAPS LOCK.The space key is small and offset to the left, requiring another major adjustment and many missed spaces as the ALT key is usually hit with the right thumb instead. It forces you to move your right hand over to the left and break the normal positioning of the hands, reducing typing speed and accuracy, especially when combined with the need to slam the keys to ensure contact.I tried to make this keyboard work, especially as it was a great price point and looked beautiful. But the internal mechanics make it more of an object to be looked at than a keyboard that is of use for anyone that is more than an occasional typer. 3Nice and naturalI really like this unit. It took a bit of getting used to with the mouse battery saving feature (turns off fairly quickly) but now that I've had it a while, I really enjoy it -- great item for the price.Shipping was in a bubble pack envelope and many of the buttons came of in shipping. Only the space bar (used all the time) was damaged and I've had to modify it to work. Great keyboard but needs better packaging for shipping. 4If you buy this, I feel bad for you.I cannot stress how awful this keyboard is. First, look at the size and placement for the spacebar. Its too small and set far too the left. Very difficult to find it when typing. Second, its warped. It flops back and forth on my desk as I type. Very annoying. Third, nothing holds the battery door closed. It flops open and closed as you move or carry the keyboard. Fourth, the batteries sit so deep in the keyboard, that to remove the batteries, you'll need a small flat-blade screwdriver to unwedge them, as they have nothing built in to assist. Fifth, there is no way to turn the units off. Sixth, the mouse door is held in place by two tiny, weak magnets. Sixth, the keys on the keyboard are very difficult to read and have no consistency. Seventh, look at the placement of the DELETE key. It's not in the proper location and very difficult to find.I'm returning this. It was a very bad buying decision. I thought the wood looked neat and unique, and it is, but the consequences of using wood and the overall design make it one of the very worst keyboards I have ever used. 1Lots of commentsMany people like the "look" of this keyboard and mouse. The mouse is a bit small (I have medium sized hands) but I love the feel of the wood in my palm. The major issue I have is the keyboard is too small. They condensed the buttons so some are missing (lacks a second shift key, and the delete and end buttons are in weird locations.) I do like that it's naturally antimicrobial, and it's been reliable. I like the look and feel of the bamboo enough that I'll probably order another, but I'll pay a bit more for the larger, full sized keyboard next time. 4More aesthetic than functional for the price.Sandwich style review:Beautiful bamboo; overall aesthetically pleasing. It turned my desktop into a bit of a coffee table conversation starter with guests!Neither the keyboard or the mouse are very ergonomic, or even particularly comfortable for quick use.The wireless works great, and has surprising range, even around corners and through sheet rock.Another small tidbit: My dog already destroyed the mouse. Hindsight 20/20 the mouse definitely has a dog toy vibe. 3this is it it looks nice and works just as good as any other key ...if your looking for something different, this is it it looks nice and works just as good as any other key board. 5Almost perfectThe keyboard itself is rock solid, however there are a few things that would slightly improve it. The first is legs, this keyboard sits lower than any I've ever owned. Next are indicator lights. I have no idea when Caps lock or Number lock are on (I installed 3rd party freeware that does this visually on screen as a workaround). Last, the space bar is half the size of a regular space bar (takes a little getting used to). In terms of functionality, the keyboard has no issues and is very responsive. 4Keyboard has terrible contact problemsThis keyboard has terrible problems with key contact -- it misses letters and other keys perhaps 5 percent of the time. The left shift key is horrible, and for some reason it misses the M key quite often. It is noisy and has a cheap sound and feel. I took the back off, took a piece of cardboard from the back of a legal tablet, cut it to fit inside the back plate, and cut out little boxes around the screw holes. Then I re-assembled it. This quite-ed down the rattly sound, and also improved key contacts. Problem solved -- but I shouldn't have had to do it. I also wiped some ebony stain on the keyboard, wiped it off, leaving the letters and symbols much easier to read. Once again, problem solved ... but I shouldn't have needed to do it. 1
