    Can be betterThe features of this siren is overkill. Why? If I already have a control panel, I wouldn't need this siren to be connected to the rest of the sensors. I only need the simple external siren functionality. Having these additional features that I don't need makes this product overly expensive for an external siren.Furthermore, like previous review posted, it's really a hassle trying to install this if you accidentally trip the anti-tamper design. The siren will sound non-stop unless you pull out the battery plugs. There should be a better design there.Finally, this works with SkylinkNet (HU-100), but the instruction and website info are clearly outdated so they didn't list it as supported. Nevertheless, setting #1 would make it work. However, this device won't show up in the smartphone app at all, and you have to determine if it's connected by the flashing LED light as instructed by the manual. That kind of sucks.3Excellent for DIY alarm, not great if neighbors live more than 50 meters awayEasy to install, easy to connect, works exactly as expected but not loud enough for a farm. Sound is loud enough to be heard by neighbors living next door, in front of my house and people walking by. But I live in farmland and the sound doesn't travel very far. I tested it with my wife and she wasn't able to hear the alarm from 100 meters away without any objects in the way. For my use I need something louder.3though I found everything else from Skylink very easy to set upDidn't come with a power supply which it may not need, but which the directions said were needed. Directions were very hard to follow to set up, though I found everything else from Skylink very easy to set up. Possibly the problem was the microscopic type and terrible illustrations . Also, the bright yellow color was a bit much outside the house.2looks well built,Received it on time, I have unpacked it and looks relatively well built, I will update and give a reasonable rate of stars, when I see how it works and integrates with the other sensors and keypads. For the time being, I'm posting some pictures, so you can have an idea of how weatherproof this alarm can be.Update 02 Februray 2015; I installed it outside, it pairs without problems with the keypad, so far it works well.4Uses two sets of batteries - one set is the ...Uses two sets of batteries - one set is the solar rechargeable batteries to power the siren speaker. The other 3AA set powers the electronics and for communication to the Skylink hub. There's also a mechanical switch which arms the siren device when installed against a flat surface. If you accidentally disarm the mechanical switch while mounting the siren, the siren will blast for its max scheduled time (no matter if you try to turn it off remotely or disarm the alarm system). So you have to pull out the siren AA batteries to reset it and get the siren to quit.When you electronically disarm the alarm system, the siren chirps twice so you know you've disarmed it. However, when you are outside and leaving the house and electronically arming the alarm system, the siren doesn't chirp at all (wish it did to have audible confirmation that the alarm is set).4JunkNot as advertised. Huge 10x10+ bright yellow plastic bubble over tiny poorly wired circuit board which wasn't even the same as instruction manual. Lithium, alkaline and dc power sources (but no dc power adapter or input). Remote not included!1SoundI thought it should be louder.4In South, DO NOT mount it on south or west side of building.This siren works excellent. However, the installation instructions are incomplete. According to the manual the siren should be mounted on the south or west side of your building. If you live in the South (TX) and do this, the unit will be fried by the sun. I had to replace mine under warranty after short time period due to this. I contacted manufacturers customer service and they advised me to install the siren on the east side so it gets only morning sun.5Five StarsSo far it works great.
