Customer Reviews

Awesome Speakers !! True to sound and clarity!!! These have to be the best of pyle!!!!! These things Rock!!!! I couldn't of asked for a better product for the price if your skeptical about PYLE ; DONT BE THESE SPEAKER/ PRODUCE SOUND AND CLAIRTY OF WAY HIGER PRICED / OVERPRICED SPEAKERS !!! Thanks PYLE I couldn't of picked a better speaker except for the 6 pack tweeter boxes also PYLE I put atop of these !!! I CANT TURN IT UP PAST 5 eat alone the neighbors they may actually blowout the windows!!! This is the perfect You get what I pay for !!! MY HIGHEST PRAISE TO " PYLE-PRO!! 5Good sound for price and size-UPDATE: The speakers suck big time UPDATE*******Upon my second use of these speakers at rehearsal, they sounded awful. Didn't have the same bass and treble clarity that they had when I first tried them. I am returning them and will be buying something else. Be warned, don't buy these speakers, they don't last very long.First I want to address the dented speaker grill issue mentioned in other reviews. The speaker appears to be packaged well, but what it's lacking are corner pieces in the packaging that are common to other MFG shipping speakers. The corner pieces offset the speaker against the box, creating a space about 1/2" between speaker surfaces and inside of the box and helps to minimize dings and dents, this is not the case here. That said, mine arrived with a slight dent to the grill and if that bothers you greatly for a $64.50 speaker, you can either RMA and hope for the best or you can remove the 4 screws that hold the grill on, pop out the dent, and the dent in the grill is gone......Onto the speaker performance. I am replacing and older 12" speaker wedge on stands with the Pyle 10" speakers and I have noticed some mild distortion at higher volumes as it is a smaller speaker cone, the speaker performed admirably and I will be keeping them as a light weight and cheap replacement, To be fair, I encountered the same distortion on the 12" speakers only a slight louder in volume. For a $130 pair of speakers, they are pretty awesome for a rehearsal space application. If you are wondering what kind of music, my project uses 2 high gain guitar amps and a hard hitting drummer plus bass player on a full stack, so it is a loud band overall and the speakers did a great job cutting through against all of the instruments. If you can live with a near guarantee that the speakers will arrive with a dent in the grill that you can pop out and fix easily, they are a great buy. 1Not just competitively priced... A competitive speaker cabinet all around, these speakers performed significantly better than I expected. I am confident that if I took the Pyle sticker off the front, my audio snob friends wouldn't know they were a 'bargain brand.'The MDF construction makes them a little heavier and less durable than a good plywood cabinet, but that's perfectly OK and expected at this price.3 types of parallel input jacks (Speak on, 1/4, banana) is a feature not typically seen in this price range. The only con I could find was in the horn - it's a little dirty at the mid range, but nothing a good EQ rack can't clean up, if you have the inclination. For the intelligent, discerning audio tech on a budget, look no further. The majority of reviews knock this product for not being a $300 product at <$100, so expect a higher quality than you are paying for, just not all-pro audio. 5this thing is sweet! i got a seismic cabinet with 4 tens& 2 PA speakers with 2 fifteens since i purchased this. & THIS thing is the best sounding cabinet in the house. ive bought many Pyle products since. all the gear performs unbelievably at these price points. 5I DID A FULL INSPECTION ON THIS!! ya I was alittle leary to buy this speaker but afther hearing it it sounds pretty good for being on the cheaper side , it has pretty good bass & nice highs , it fulls a room fast & I just have one speaker for now , I was planning on getting sec one if thay worked out , the only thing I found wrong with is that the speaker wire terminals are cheap plasic nut instead metal nut one already got striped out not cool , but the speakons is what im using there soild over all great speaker for $90 :) I DID A FULL INSPECTION ON THIS , I also check that it does have a full crossover Network instead of like the individual pieces like individual resistors it's all on a circuit board NICE , the plastic handles and all the plastic parts are pretty well made , they also did a good job on getting the throat on the super tweeter a place to rest which is just a piece of wood going across the whole box inside , overall it's a really good speaker , I think they should have use better wood quality but other than that it's good the way it is , if your looking to get one of these its good for the price ;) 5You probably get a little more than you pay for. These speakers came in with some damage as I saw on otherposts. The woofers in the cabinet have screws around theperimeter that go into fiberboad to hold them in place. Both thespeakers I ordered came in with these screws "pulled out" of thefiber board, leaving the speake hanging loose in the cabinet. It was a simple matter to screw them back in, using a slightlydifferent location, so I decided to do this versus the trouble ofreturning them. (I assumed any replacements might have thesame issue as well)The cabinets looked better than expected. The front grill coversthe entire face and is unsupported. So IT WILL get bent.I plugged them units into my small 500w pa amp and was pleasedwith the sound. (Again for the price) I have only an occasionalneed for my PA system, normally small outdoor functions. 30-40people in an area the size of a tennis court. My 500w amp andthese speakers do quite well for my needs. (However I am notpumping heavy rock or heavy base)Expect a little shipping damage and grill bending with use. HoweverI would purchase these again. 3This is a good speaker if you know what you are doing This is a good speaker if you know what you are doing. Keep it equalized and powered within its limits and you will be satisfied. I strongly suggest that you refrain from channeling a moderate or heavy bass load. Just push it with mids and highs. Keep in mind the 500 watt rating is the max peak for only seconds of use. The CONTINUOUS rating is 250 watts. In the long run....it's worth the price. 4Smell a phonic I purchased these speakers mostly because I wanted a set of Pro Audio speakers and they were the only size I could have sent to an APO. One speaker made it to me in good shape, The other did not. On one damaged speaker the woofer broke free inside the cabinet and was hanging by the wires. It also damaged the grill which was the only thing the kept the speaker from coming completely out of the cabinet. I clean the cabinet of all the tiny broken pieces, re-glued the larger chunks back into place, inspected the woofer for other damage but I did not see any so I re-installed the woofer turning it in the cabinet so the screws would be in different places. I then bent the grill flat and then fitted it back into the front of the cabinet. A sound check with both speakers sounded ok so I'll just keep them both. In one of the other comments the smell of the speaker was mentioned. This is an issue. There is a strong smell of untreated press board and maybe glue. Strange... I think they need to look at the packaging when shipping. The speaker was in the factory box which is fine for normal shipping to a store or warehouse but when it was mailed it was then placed inside a box with some brown paper around that box. It did not protect the speaker from damage. Maybe bubble wrap might have been better. I give them four stars for value and performance. I took one away for smell and shipping damage. 4Tough No Nonsense Speakers at an Amazing Price! I bought two of these for my home use to drive music while I play guitar. I play through a Bugera v22 amp that is pretty loud. I play them through a Harman Kardon amp that really drives the speaker. I have to say for a fairly cheap speaker, it sounds loud and is very clear. The grill is the real deal - the speakers are very sturdy, have a dent on the grill to show for it. I have also used as a PA for a few Karaoke events at my wife's prior job. I'm updating as one speaker blew. I had the older version of the PADH1070 and I blew the woofer. This new speaker works fine. I use banana connectors and they were real well. You can also use professional speaker cables. These are tough, no nonsense speakers at an amazing price! 4sound good These are not JBL or EV speakers, but they sound good, are well-built, and extremely cost-effective. They are as good as speakers I would expect to get for $150+ apeice. Speakers are divided roughly into 2 groups: those that have piezo hi-frequency horns, and those that have real compression drivers for the high frequencies. These particular speakers are, as far as I know, the only ones in the Pyle line that have 'real' compression drivers. Speakers with piezo horns are toys. The horns are made for pennies and sound terrible. I am a retired sound contractor, and I got a set of these for a friend that has a coffee house with musical entertainment. They look fine and sound good. Unless you can spend several hundred dollars apeice on PA speakers, I highly recommend these. 4
