    Smooth strokes with Purdy Brushes Purdy makes top-notch brushes. They glide the paint onto whatever you re painting. The angle is great to cut in corners. Yes they are more expensive than regular brushes, but they warrant the cost when painting a room or piece of furniture. The bristles stay intact & don t shed onto your project. My husband who only bought cheap throw away brushes until I started buying Purdy Brushes praises them. 5A must in my paint bucket!! One can't go wrong with Purdy paint brushes. This particular model ranks amongst my favorites when painting trim or painting a straight line free hand (thanks to the angle.) The brush grips easily allowing maximum steadiness (in hand) and applies paint as sought after. Given proper maintenance (i.e. post-painting cleaning), the brush will last for a long time. Will never start an interior painting job, without this particular brush. For the sake of transparency, I have only used the brush with Latex paints. 5Best paint brush on the market! I love this brush. I am a professional artist and paint acrylic paintings. I use purdy brushes for the large strokes, the fills, and also when i am applying texture, modge podge, resin, etc. OH and the back ground! They do not bend over time. They can allow me to soak them in water for a long time and not bend or fall apart. A nice clean thin line i can make with this. And i can fill in a large area. It's very reliable. It's worth the price. 5Great! Purdy quality and old school black nylon well suited for interior latex paint. Bought the 2.5 flat sash version recently as well. Great for wall cutting as well as baseboard and door finishing. Not suited for outdoor use on hot days. I wish these were more available at retail outlets. Awesome brushes to work with and easily cleaned too! 4Purdy Good I went thru about 10 brushes from various manufacturers and styles before settling on the Purdy brand. The paint seems to go on a bit smoother and more consistently than other makes. I used the Nylox blends for cutting in and trim work. I have only used the brushes with Latex and Acrylic so not sure how they would perform with oil based paints.They seem to hold up very well to repeated use and cleaning in both soap and water as well as brush cleaners. Even when accidently allowing the paint to dry, a soak overnight in brush cleaner and 10 minutes with a metal comb restored the bristles to almost as new.They do cost a bit more than most of the other makes, but the finish and quality make them a bargain in the long term. 5Fantastic for avoiding brush strokes on trim You pay a pretty penny for standalone Purdy brushes, and this one is no exception. However, I had a 4"x4" post installed that goes from my kitchen island countertop to the soffit above, and it has outside corner molding. I wanted to paint it and have it look almost as nice as the cabinets, which means getting a smooth finish and dealing with the small space in between the corner molding pieces.The Nylon did a great job. I used it with Sherwin Williams ProClassic paint, and it was a great combo. The brush strokes are almost imperceptible unless you're looking up close, and I'm by no means a great painter. 5Extreme Shedding My prior experience with Purdy brushes has been excellent. This brush was part of an order for several Purdy Nylox brushes used for painting interior trim. The person that put this particular brush together must have been in a badly managed OJT program or having a bad day. Unfortunately the maker's sticker came off during the first cleaning. The brush continuously sheds bristles. If I continued to use it I would be left with nothing but a handle and ferrule. No such issue with the other Purdy bushes purchased or owned. 1Soft brushes best for painting in dry climate A salesperson at a local paint shop recommended Purdy's Soft brushes for painting here in Colorado in a very dry climate, where my regular brushes were leaving brush marks on wood trim I had to paint. The shop only had one size of Soft Brush so I tried it out and ordered two others from Amazon. They really solved my problem with brush marks. 5Brush needs to go back to the design lab for further improvement The brush is very soft which is its design feature to minimize brush strokes. However, when I used it with my trim paint, it seemed to be too wimpy to spread out the paint. It would always split into multiple bunches and made it near impossible to have a cohesive paint edge to brush with. 3Very pleased Not too much to say about it, it's a paintbrush. But it's good Purdy quality and if you take good care of it, it will last a long time and deliver great results. Used with a top-quality paint, it lays down the paint very smoothly and brush marks are virtually nonexistent when it dries. You get what you pay for, and this brush is worth the price. 5
