Customer Reviews

First time defective product received from Amazon Warehouse. I bought this from Amazon Warehouse and didn't use this on a recording project since I received it. The box looked immaculate so I assumed this was in perfect working order based on the site description. I just plugged them in today and there is no bass and the audio sounds crackly like the cord is broken. I plugged in my old headphones and the audio is fine. I switched plug adapter to check if that was the problem but the audio was the same. This was shipped as a bad pair of headphones and now I can't return because the return window is closed. Ugh. My first time receiving a defective product from Amazon Warehouse. I'm so bummed and out $40 bucks. Lesson learned: Don't assume and inspect your warehouse purchases in a timely manner. 1Solid set of grab and go phones Surprisingly good sound. Solid build. No issues after two months of regular use. Not audiophile quality, but for working out parts while home recording, silent practicing, etc, these are an excellent choice at a fraction of the price. More than loud enough, relatively transparent, across the frequency range. You will sacrifice a bit of sibilance, and a slight bit bit of clarity in the lower mids, compared to pricier models, but that is not their role. Need a set to toss in the gig bag that you're not going to fret about, that will give you 95% of your studio grade stuff, this is it. 5Quality sound for very little money Are these really 4 star headphones? For less than $30, which was what I paid, they are actually a bit better. If the cable had been removable, they would have gotten the extra star. That said, it is solidly constructed heavy and sturdy. I don't expect it to short out at all and I use these as one of my main pairs--the others are the Sennheiser 439s (light, comfortable, but dull) Superlux 668B, and ATH M40x and ATH-IM70 IEMs.These are closest the the 668B in sound. A bit bright--but no annoying sibilance. With Cosmos velour pads--the ones on board suck- for an extra eight dollars here at Amazon (or, if you want to spend the dough, Beyerdynamic replacement pads) -http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KLPRQMO/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3528NABKVABNY - they can't be beaten and sound better than almost any--up to $150-- headphone I've tried. This is not a bass head phone, it is for studio and critical listening. I use them with Macbook Pro and iPad with Fiio Q1DAC and an HP laptop with idsd nano black and my home stereo. They can take a serious volume load from a stereo amp or soundboard without distortion, but can be driven by smaller amplification sources easily thanks to low impedance. As for clamping, they're snug but not so tight they are uncomfortable--at all--even after a couple of hours of listening. This is one of the best deals I've ever gotten from Amazon. 4Great. Good range from deep bass to higher frequencies. Cord is long enough to do whatever is necessary for something you have to reach out from a distance. Could be used for regular mixers 1/4 inch input and also with your mobile phone or other devices with regular 3.5mm input. Compared to the Audio-technica ATH-M50x has almost the same pleasant sound. Difference is that the HD7 has is open so you could here things in the room when playing at a low level. If you boost the volume even if it is open, somebody would have to speak out loud or scream so you could here them. Also the HD7 has a slight lower volume level compared to the ATH-M50x. I think it may be due to it being open instead of a closed ear cup.For the price it's one of the best headphones I have listened too.Cons: Not so good for recording while close to the mic if you are using it as a monitor for recording while using a mic. The mic will pickup sound coming from the HD7 because of it's open ear cup. You will have to compensate the distance between mic and headphone and would risk picking up some room noise when recording. 4Dont't let the price fool ya These are the best headphones I've ever bought. Flat frequency response semi open great for vocal recording. The only con I have is they can be a little bit high on the frequency spectrum but that only happens when push the volume up real high. The driver on these are good the driver is at 50mm in other words these can get loud. Please don't the price fool ya I got three headphones in my studio now that cost way more than these. 4Great Deal! When I purchased these headphones two months ago, they were only $30, which is a great deal for their quality. They sound great for budget headphones. They have excellent bass response, and though the highs and mids are a little lacking, for thirty dollars I don't care so much. They are very lightweight and have an auto fit headband which is really nice. The earpads are comfortable. The materials feel strong and durable. I use these when I am recording someone other than myself and I need to hear their performance as it is being recorded. These are semi-open headphones, which means that they don't isolate and they leak noise, so I don't recommend these for tracking with a microphone. Closed-back headphones would be better suited for that purpose. I don't mix with these so I cannot provide information about that. The only issue I have had so far is that I have not figured out how the cable detaches. I don't know if it really does detach. Overall, they are great headphones for the price. 5My SPD son's favorite headphones!!! My 15 year old has sensory issues and needs headphones for his school work. These are the only headphones that have worked for him. We bought a pair used (because we had bought so many different kinds of headphones trying to find a pair that he liked). The used pair lasted about a year before something went wrong and they stopped working. So I searched for more and found them!! He was so happy to get another pair of the headphones he loved! These are great headphones!!! Not only for their sound quality (which is great!) but for how sensory friendly they are! 5Not On-Ear headphones The HD7 headphones were advertised as being the On-Ear style of headphones. Turns out they are very much the Around-the-Ear, isolation-style headphones. They almost completely sealed me off from the outside world.I was specifically seeking On-Ear phones, so I may be sending these back. The sound quality, although a little base-heavy, is good, overall, but higher frequencies aren't getting through to me. After an hour of U-tube videos, I was getting a ear-and-head ache. Not bad, but noticeable. The ear cups are a soft plastic, and after about 30 minutes, I noticed some perspiration building up.So for good-but-slightly-expensive sound qualities and fit, I'd give them 3-4 stars. But for not being On-Ear, definitely, they lose a point! 2Stellar Starter Headphones I don't know a lot about technical sound specifications, but these headphones are some of the most comfortable I've ever worn. I probably have these on for an average of 6 hours every day (sometimes closer to 10) and they never get uncomfortable. I also wear glasses and they don't provide any discomfort at all.An initial concern I had was whether sound would leak out of these microphones, since they're semi-open. I personally have had no problems with sound leaking. As soon as I take the headphones off, you can hear the music even with the headphones on the desk (depending on how high your volume is), but when I put them back on people near me say they can't hear anything. Pretty nifty.Sound-wise... to my untrained ear, they sound great. Definitely flatter than other headphones I have used, though - while this may make bass sound quieter, its allowed me to hear parts of songs that I'd never heard before. Very neat. Highly recommend. 5Superb sound quality and flat response. Superb sound quality and flat response across the whole frequency range. I tried a handful high-end consumer headphones on a professional stage piano, all of them distorted / blurred the sound in some ways. This headphone solved all the problems. Plus the price makes it a clear winner in entry-level professional headphones. 5
