    Use on manual for my Sony A6000 and Olympus dslr Always wanted a bare bulb flash. Way cheap and great I use my flashes on manual anyway so it works on my cameras!!! 5TTL bare bulb flash is pretty cool. Couldn't pass up a chance to try out a bare bulb flash for this price. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. I built a small beauty dish for it and use it with a TTL cord on a D90. So far, it's worked as advertised. I use it manual mode mostly, but the TTL seems to work well. It isn't as powerful as a top-of-the-line flash and the tilt/swivel head could use beefing up - my little plastic beauty dish is enough to make it swivel or tilt if I don't hold the flash level. I would have paid twice as much for a little more power and a more robust housing, but the only other bare bulb flash I know of is over 4x the price and doesn't have TTL. 4Not Durable Unfortunately it's well known brand name is merely licensed. Like many Chinese made strobes it's just not durable. After a few months it has stopped delivering full power. It's down to about 1/3 . I think the problem is overheating. 1Five Stars I use this for all sorts of shooting conditions. Softer than most strobes for interior shots. 5 BARGAIN For 29 dollars is definitely a bargain. I bought two of them. They work very well. Totally compatible with Nikon Creative Lighting System (slave mode) and the iTTL worked perfectly well. I received two "Brilia BB-110N" with a Polaroid label - probably better than the old Polaroid PL-135 version. Search "Brilia BB-110N filetype:pdf" for the right manual (they came with the wrong manual). 5Easy to use This flash gives you the exceptional brightness and contrast you need for really dynamic photos. Easy to use, simple, and efficient. 5I loved this flash I was very happy with it I loved this flash I was very happy with it. then one day it stop working. I thought maybe it is the flash bulb. I went looking for rpl bulb, I search for 2 years. I never found a replacement bulb. ?????, Now I have this sitting with my not often used equipment collecting dust. Is there any one out there that knows where a replacement bulb for this unit can be purchased. 3Polaroid Bare Bulb Flash for Nikon Camera It works very nicely on my Nikon D7100. I use it on TTL mode without the diffuser provided because I would like to see if it worked as the old fashion bare bulb flash. The result was very good with evenly-distributed light and almost no shadow. This flash is worth the money spend. I would recommend this to my photography friends. It uses four alkaline AA batteries which last about 150 shots indoor. The recharge time is reasonable fast. I try to look for any accessory for this flash from Polaroid but so far there is not any beside the diffuser which comes with the flash. This flash has two slave modes which I did not try yet. 4Polaroid PL135 Update According to the specifications the battery life is "100-1500 flashes (using AA alkaline)." I have used 2 sets of new AA batteries and I am getting less than 30 flashes with flash on TTL or 1/4 manual mode. Flashes working with wireless trigger, but not when attached to the any of my Canon cameras (T4i, Xsi, EOS-M)./////////////Update://////////Looking on the Polaroid site I cannot find an external battery pack listed for the PL135. Why I don't know. But further research I have found two that seem to be compatible with the correct power cord connection. The following power packs I have found are VKtech Yongnuo SF-18 for $52.99. The next one is the Neewer External SD-9A. These two flashes are listed for the Nikon SB-900 and SB-910, but the power connector is correct for the flash. The price is listed at $26.19.Also I still have not found out why the four AA batteries are draining so fast under my current testing of this flash. This is why I am considering one of the above external power packs. If there was a cable adapter for my JJC FB-1(II) external power pack I use with the Yongnuo and Canon flashes I have would be great also. The adapter cable would have need a male Canon three slot end and then the correct female slot alignment to the PL135 which has three pins. The center pin a has key at the bottom and is slight lower then the two outside pins. The right pin also has a key at the top. I am not sure why the left most pin is shorter and has a flat top. The center and right pin are longer and rounded. Polaroid does not give any technical reasons for this either in any technical information on their site. 3Very nice Based on a couple of quick checks, this is an excellent choice. The manual is written in clear American. The unit is sturdy and connected immediately to my D300s. Recycle is not bad. It would be fine without an external battery pack for parties, but probably not a wedding. There is no zoom, but covers from 18 to 135 on a full frame format (27-160 or so on dx or aps-c) with no fall-off at about 10 feet. It goes quite a bit further , but that's all I had time to test to. You do have to be very careful to make sure everything is seated well if you are using on off-camera cable on a stroboframe. Anything loose and you won't get a picture. The off-camera base is sized properly, and you don't have to worry about the flash tipping over when the reflector is on. I only have 2 real gripes: the case, which well-padded, but not quite large enough to fit the reflector while on the camera (you have to take everything apart to store or transport); and that the instructions talk about the external pack, but don't identify a model or cable number. I will update when I figure one out. Overall, it's a heck of a buy for the price. The round catchlights look much nicer than a square flash. I'm happy I bought it. 4
