Customer Reviews

Works Great with my Pioneer BDR-207D. Thumbs up so far. Bought a 25-Disc spindle which arrived today. I've gone through half the spindle so far tonight with no coasters. FYI I am using Imgburn and a Pioneer BDR-207D with the latest firmware. I have verify "on" to let Imgburn test the crc of every disc. So far so good. Tested each disc in my Sony Bluray video player afterwards. The discs show up in Disc ID as Verbatim, interestingly enough. I've used Optical Quantum single layer BD discs for a long long time, these burn just as well. Can't wait for the price to drop again :-) I know this is a small sample size to give five stars to, but it's rocking along at roughly an 8x burn as I'm typing this. So far no discs I've played back have exhibited any skips or other evidence of bad burns at that speed. They are hub-printable as well! :-) 55 bad burns in a row on a 25 ct spindle 5 bad burns in a row on a 25 ct spindle. These are defective, and apparently are no longer made by Verbatim. Alot of people seem to be having the same issues. I waited too long to return them, so I guess I am stuck with a spindle of these junk disks that won't burn for me. 1The price before made it a worthwhile puchase but now it doesn't look so good.... So far so good my burns were ok but one software caused coasters or bad burns but the media itself seem to be doing well for making backup without much problem. I bought their supply and I do hope they will have more in the future. I would recommend this product if anyone wants a decent backup medium for their BD. I will report back more when I start using them more after fixing my software glitches then I have a better results of the backup and their playback quality. And the surface looks good to use a sharpie to write on.UPDATE: just checked for next order plan and got a shock it went from 49 to 69 it did a 71% price hike from what I bought it from originally. So it drops Two Start because of the price. 3Had been a reliable brand in the past, no longer so I've been using these discs successfully, without incident for 3 years, but the new batch that I ordered this month has already had 2 bad discs (unable to write disc lead-in) out of 10 that I've tried. I will no longer buy this brand. The discs are too expensive to have 20 percent failure rate.Update:After getting through all 25 of the discs, the total defective discs was 12. This is nearly a 50 percent failure rate. I will find another supplier. Too bad, I had very good results from Plexdisc for years, but not anymore. 1they are ok.. I am not sure what happened, but quarter way through the spindle,I began getting writing errors. I burned up 3/4 of the spindle trying to get back to good discs. About at the 5th left disc, they began burning fine once again. Those that did burn successfully played fine. I am not sure what it was. But I have burned quite a few different discs in my writers over the years and never had this occurrence except with some verbatim that turned out to be bad lots. Lol, but those were DVDr and much cheaper to chalk off. I don't think I will bee purchasing again.. 1maybe it's just me, but this was a very bad experience The seller sent the item promptly, I have no issues about that. But the discs themselves were very inferior quality. I managed to burn 4 out of 5 (one gave an error while writing) and of those four discs which burned successfully, NONE played at all. The player just cannot load them, keeps whirring. Never had this issue before. As I said in another blank BD review, certain brands of writers have a good relationship with certain brands of discs. You have to try and find out. My pioneer writer loves HP, ridata and a couple of other brands, but apparently does not give good results with Plexdisc. I don't want to bash the brand, since other people seem to have had good results with Plexdisc, but that wasn't the case for me unfortunately. 2Try Burning at 4X to Avoid Errors and Coasters! I've burned 6 discs with no problems whatsoever. I've tested them all and ensured they playback without issues. However, I can add this bit of advice for those having problems with this media... only burn at 4X to ensure all of the data is successfully writing to the disc! The faster you burn, the more prone it is to fail and produce a nice, shiny coaster! 57 Faulty Disks in a Row Tested 7 disks in a row, and none of them worked. I did the first at 4x speed, and that completed both a write and verify, but would skip around when actually playing back. After that, 6 disks in a row, done at 2x write speed, all failed either the verify or the actual write.Do not recommend. I know they're cheaper than the competition, but there's a reason for it. 1Great Product at a Fantastic Price, But NO LONGER MADE BY VERBATIM ***UPDATE*** Dec10,2014========================As you can see from my earlier posts regarding this product, I've been very happy with these discs, in part because they were apparently made in Verbatim fab facilities. NOT ANY MORE! The latest batch I received on Dec 10, 2014, are now from Ritec, which are generally NOT regarded to be anywhere near as good as Verbatim discs. The only good news is that these these discs are actually encoded to burn accurately at 6x speed, whereas the previous Verbatim-made discs had a maximum burn speed of only 4x (as reported by the metadata recorded onto the blank discs). It would be nice if PlexDisc had reduced the price, since I have to believe that they are paying less for the Ritec discs for the Verbatim discs.***DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH RITEK BR-D-DL DISCS?***=================================================================I love these discs! I've gone through 50 so far, having bought them in the 10-packs until now, to make sure they were reliable (many other blank BD-R products I've bought over the last 3 years have returned bad or disappointing results. But of the 50 I have burned so far, I've had only 1 coaster, and that was my fault. But the price on the 10-packs has been inching up over the last 2 months (from $23.95 to $28.95) here on AMAZON, so I figured it was time to start buying in larger lots.As I have commented in my earlier reviews of the 10-packs, ImgBurn burning software reports these (the 10-pack discs, at least) as only supporting 2x and 4x burn speeds, not 6x as advertised, and as marked on the discs themselves. I haven't opened this pack yet, but I'm assuming they will report the same speeds. But since they actually seem to be Verbatim discs, it's very comforting when using them to burn data archives.Mindflyer***UPDATE*** Sep30,2014========================Well... I was afraid of this. As I've mentioned in my other reviews of this product, they make for incredibly burns (minimal coasters), they appear to be make by Verbatim, and they are an INCREDIBLE BARGAIN. As I mentioned above, I made my first purchase of a 25-pack here at AMAZON on Sep. 18. Up until that time I had been buying 10-packs to gauge their quality before buying a large quantity that might turn out to be garbage. Quite the contrary! These are arguably the BEST BluRay burnables I've ever purchased. So as the price began creeping up on the 10-pack, I moved to the 25-pack. On Sep 18 they were $49.95. I was just about to buy another couple of 25-packs, and now--JUST 2 WEEKS LATER--the price has jumped to $69.95, and as Murphy's Law would have it, the moment I tried to submit my order, I got a response saying that the item is no longer available, and AMAZON has NO IDEA if it will ever be available again.BuyDotCom still appears to have it at the $69.99 price point, but I can't find it very many other places anywhere close to that price.I checked the PlexDisc website to see their authorized dealers, and what other product package sizes the discs come in. They show a 50-pack, but a web search using that SKU got NO RESULTS (except for the page on the PlexDisc site itself).I hope that our collective good fortune of having found a source for (what we all hope are) Verbatim BDR-DL 6x discs at such an incredible price isn't about to dry up on us. Maybe PlexDisc is realizing that they can justifiably raise their price now (after a few months of market introduction with loss-leader pricing), or maybe Verbatim doesn't like the marketplace finding out that we can buy their products under a different private label at less than half what Verbatim themselves charge.Whatever the reason, I hope we don't lose this valuable channel for such good product at such a great price.Buy them now, while you still can--even if it's the 10-pack.Mindflyer- 5Highly Recommended! High Rate of Success. After having a horrible experience with Verbatim BD-R DL 50GB 6X with Branded Surface - 10pk Spindle Box 97335, I gave these discs a try. I, already, had great luck with their 25GB version and that wonderful experience continued with these DL 50GB Discs. I highly recommend buying these PLEX Disc DL 50GB BD-R Discs. I have not use the entire spindle, yet; but, every disc I have burned (so far) has worked perfectly. Unlike the 50% fail rate I suffered with Verbatim. 5
