Customer Reviews

Piece of crap. Doesn't reliably turn on Piece of crap. Doesn't reliably turn on. Light will work normally and will then will randomly not turn on. I work on a ship, and more than once now I've been caught in a dark place with a flashlight that doesn't function. I've never had any issues with other Pelican products so this is quite a let down. 1New version Circa 2017 On/Off Circuit fails randomly and then will work again. Can not be trusted to turn on when you need it. The new version (circa 2017, 106 lumens) of the 1910 with a higher output has a bug in the circuit which causes it to fail to turn on.Later it may turn on and then later fail again. In fact while writing this it turn on by itself.I have an older version (circa 2015) which works great but wanted to upgrade it for the higher output one.The issue is in the main body of the flashlight and not the clicky switch. This observation from swapping the clicky from the older version flashlight to the newer and it did not help, and the new clicky to the old flashlight body and the light still worked. So this is a huge failure. The light can't be trusted to work in an emergency situation. I like clicky type flashlights so I'll try another companies light. Maybe even the Surefire backup even though it is a lot larger. 1Great for EDC I have been looking for a good EDC (every day carry) light for a while and am happy to have found this one. The clip is extremely tight, such that I've never been able to clip it onto my pocket or waistband. Since it it so compact though, that hasn't been a problem as it fits nicely in my pocket without looking or feeling bulky. The light feels well made and not at all cheap, even though it is fairly inexpensive. I was also looking at the Streamlight Microstream, but ultimately chose this one for the two brightness modes and the higher max output. I will probably get a few more of these to stash in my cars as well. 5it will fail. this is the second one with the same problem. this is the second one that has stopped working after three months. never getting it wet never using it. the second one doesn't even have a scratch on it. its a design flaw in the cap it just stops working after a few months. I was searching for a stray in an abandoned house and this thing just flickers then goes out. not the battery, not damaged. 1Great flashlight ... BUT Great flashlight. Exactly as advertised. Well made, bright hot spot, good distance, and good battery life for this size flashlight. BUT, not the best for emergency use due to tight regulation (brightness maintained during usable battery life, then shuts off with little warning). It will shut off even though the battery may light up other flashlights that are non-regulated (dim slowly as battery depletes). After shutoff, this flashlight may light up again for short periods of time due to temporary battery recovery (some interpret this as a bad switch).Perhaps Pelican should make an alternate version of this flashlight with the following changes:1) Low first, High second2) Allow only Low when battery gets weak, lasting long enough for obvious sign to replace battery3) Include Tail Cap Ring attachmentFor its intended use, it's a great flashlight. 5Failed after only 2 months... I bought both the 1910 and the 1920 .... after 2 months both of my lights have failed with light to medium use. They were great lights while they worked, but to fail after such a short time is just ridiculous. Also the 1920's case is machined too large and the batteries rattle around very noticeably. These are my first and last pelican lights. 1Great EDC light! Highly Recommended. Fantastic light! The dual output modes cover 99% of all of my needs. Running on a standard alkaline battery, it seems to run for quite a long time. I have only gone through 2 AAA's since January (it is now early July), so that is commendable. The anodizing could be improved slightly, as compared to its major competitor, the Streamlight Microstream. But by no means it is bad. The clip appears painted rather than anodized, which is less preferable but merely cosmetic. Speaking of the clip, this light would be much improved and nearly perfect if the clip were moved higher up the light so that when carried in a pocket, it sat down deeper. As it is, the entire tailcap protrudes out the top of your pocket; which makes it easy to grab and deploy the light, but not ideal. The color tint of the LED is a neutral white-somewhat warm. It is not a blue-ish cold white at all. This is a nice departure from so many lights on the market now that aim for max output and perceived brightness. The hotspot could be a bit more focused, but realistically this does not affect its usefulness at all.Overall, this is a great AAA format light! Highly recommended, particularly for the price. Pelican makes good products, and this is no different. A lifetime warranty just adds to the value. I look forward to trying out a 1920 as well in the future. 5I am happy with the product As the owner of four of these flashlights, and having purchased a few as gifts, I am happy with the product. The battery life is somewhat short, but that's probably a function of the size, i.e. uses a AAA battery. But I wanted to make one complaint about the lanyard that Pelican sells as an accessory. I just ordered one and with shipping it cost me about $12, a bit pricey. I don't mind that, but I wanted to buy a couple extra O rings that come with the lanyard so I could attach them to my other Pelican flashlights without having to unscrew the light and change out the O ring every time. Called Pelican customer service and was told I would have to buy the whole lanyard to get an extra O ring. Ridiculous. The O ring is just a tiny washer with a tiny loop on the edge. But I got no where trying to get Pelican to find one or two extra O rings for me to purchase. Disappointing for a company that provides an otherwise good product. 4My new favorite small pocket flashlight My new favorite small pocket flashlight. I try to carry a small pocket flashlight daily and this one is perfect. Feels and appears to be solid. The clip is actually a solid piece between the tailcap and the barrel of the flashlight so no worries about it randomly popping off like many of them do. The price is a little higher than some of the other options but I compare it to the small single AAA Streamlight. The Streamlight is slightly cheaper but I prefer this light for a couple bucks more. The best every day small AAA carry light I have found yet and I have tried and used several different ones. 5Nice flashlight. Well made and looks ready to give ... Nice flashlight. Well made and looks ready to give years of faithful service. I am a Streamlight kind of guy (Danielle is my wife) and have given the Streamlight Microstream as gifts but may switch over to the Pelican 1910. About the same size as the Microstream and the Pelican has a much nicer rear clicky in that it is easier to engage for constant on. Plus the Pelican has two output levels of light. A lot to like. 5
