Customer Reviews

Peerless makes GREAT stuff We mount a lot of AV equipment for our customers television projectors sound systems .And you can beat Peeler equipment it's engineered and manufactured the highest standards it makes installation much easier than some brands we tried in the past . 5Excellent quality, low profile, easy adjustment I used this mount to hang an Epson 5020 from our basement ceiling. Since the room the projector is mounted in is a multi-function room and not a dedicated theater room, I needed something white, to blend in better, and low profile, to keep the projector up and out of the way. I chose this unit based upon these parameters, its price point, and positive reviews.Pros: Easy installation (comes with most everything you need), low profile, easy adjustmentCons: The addition of some heavy duty drywall toggles would have been nice (for those of us crazy enough to hang a projector from drywall). Also, I'm finding myself having to adjust the projector upward every so often, I'm not sure if this is from the mount slowing moving downward from vibration or possibly the projector itself.Overall: Since I can't prove the downward movement is caused from the mount moving and not the projector's lens shift, I can't rate this mount any less than 5 stars, it offered everything I needed at a reasonable price point. 5This is a very solid and easy to use projector mount This is a very solid and easy to use projector mount. I have an Epson UB5040 which is not a small projector and I wanted a solid mount. Was not sure if this was the right one or not, but once installed, I feel very confident in this mount. There are less expensive options that may work well, as I cannot compare because I only have used this one. However, I thus far do not regret that decision. I would recommend. 5Good Universal Design, Easy assembly - Easy installation. Fine Adjustments a nice feature. This order came fast. This mount is much more stable than my last one i had and is designed to hold more weight as i have a Epson Home Cinema 5030UB Projector (big & heavy). The other thing i like is that there are several adjustment knobs for centering/leveling the projector to get the perfect position on your screen. The adjustment knobs are strong micrometer like design which are nice for fine adjustments. It also has a quick disconnect feature where you can remove the projector from the mount with a quick unlock for easy maintenance work.I have invested much time and money into my home theater and am pleased with this mount. Recommended! 5Very strong, easy to install, great features We bought this to mount our Epson 3020 projector and we couldn't be happier! We originally bought a different universal mount which claimed to hold up to 33 pounds, but it choked on our Epson, despite the compatible weight. The Peerless is miles ahead of the cheaper mount, and the price is still very good. The parts are hefty and strong. It was easy to attach to the ceiling because we only had to attach two screws. The mount attached to the projector without any issues and the legs are long and sturdy. It easily supports our Epson. The mount then slid into the ceiling bracket and tightened into place. We love the adjustable precision gears that helped us to center the image perfectly on the screen. It couldn't have been easier. 5compact and simple to adjust First of all, all mounts require assembly, and ceiling mounting is the hardest. Peerless products are my only choice, which started by reading reviews...and good price. My projector has a very tight 3 hole pattern for ceiling mounting, so I only needed to use 3 of the 4 arms provided. It also has very limited adjustment and NO lens shifting, so the mount has to do all the work. Positioning was difficult because of this, which has nothing to do with the design of this mount. there are two pieces...the lower part which attaches to the projector, and the upper part which attaches to the ceiling. With the arrow pointing forward (toward the screen) I marked 4 positions for the slots in the upper component. Screwed them into the anchoring (bought separately) and the upper part was secured. This next part is what makes this mount superior to anything I've used:There is a very clever slide mechanism that locks the two pieces in place with a screw pin. That would be cool on it's own, but it also has two screw gears for fine pitch and yaw movement to square up the picture to the screen.in summary:This is an awesome low-profile, well designed mount. It's heavy duty without looking clunky since the projector hides most of it. We have it in the living room and it's about 2' from the back wall. Didn't think the wife would go for it, but she was good with the look. For the money, this is by far the best deal. 5Pretty good overall, but a couple of caveats This is good and solid projector mount, with the ability to be mounted in various situations and orientations. I'm using it with an Epson 8350. Nice geared movements allow for precise adjustment of tilt and roll through use of large grippy knobs (or via a screwdriver). It would be nice to have a geared or even just a simple-to-access yaw (rotation) adjustment, but I'm not sure how common that is on any mount. As is, you have to loosen your mounting bolts to rotate the mount. Kind of a pain.My other chief complaint is that even when everything is locked down, there is still a small but noticeable amount of wiggle coming from the area where the adapter plate's connection block connects to the ceiling mount, even with the "socket pin screw" installed. When left alone it is not a problem, but if you try to push a button on your projector it will swing a bit. Not a huge problem if you're going to be using a remote control. But still, seems like a weak point. 4Fantastic Mount.. I have used 2 other mounts prior to this one. All mounts I purchased had at least a 4-star rating. However this mount was significantly superior to those I purchased earlier. The biggest benefit of this mount is that the part of the mount that is attached to the ceiling is "independent" of the part of the mount that is attached to the projector. (In the mounts I installed previously, the part of the mount that is attached to the projector is "directly" attached to the part of the mount that is attached to the ceiling.) The benefit of this design is that it is much easier to make very fine adjustments to pitch and roll. In fact the mount has a small (removable) screwdriver of sorts that allows you to make very fine adjustments. The adjustments are done using gears and because the part of the mount that is attached to the projector is independent of the part that is attached to the ceiling, you are able to make very fine adjustments. (Of course I don't mean "independently" literally, but a better term to describe how this mount is designed is that the the bottom part of the mount attached to the projector "floats" underneath the ceiling attachment). However, once you are done with all the fine adjustments, you can securely "lock" the position of the projector with screws provided on the mount. Although the mounts I purchased previously were advertised as very adjustable, this does not compare to the adjustability offered by this mount. This is the best mount I have purchased till date, and not only will I purchase the same mount in the future I will also HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to anyone who is looking for a quality mount and where very fine adjustability is a priority. The price compared to other mounts is a little steep, but is well worth it! I am using this mount to secure an EPSON 8350 projector. 5Yes, you will get higher quality for the money, it is worth it. I have been getting incredible bargains on various home theater components, many from Amazon or companies related to them. I bought an Epson Home Theater 8350 projector at a nice discount and when it came time to select a ceiling mount this is the one item I paid a few bucks more for. You can find ones a bit cheaper but not as good. This is not a part you want to go cheap on. And the price difference is only around 30 bucks vs other mounts. It is most certainly worth that extra money. It came packaged well of course. It is made of high quality materials and nuts and bolts are all separated nicely in sealed bags. The part that attaches to the projector seems like it could easily fit a wide variety of projectors with mounting holes at about any distance apart and location. Certainly worked fine for my projector. The legs on this mount that attach to the projector can extend much longer or shorter than my projector for example and the legs being on a circular track mean they can slide to make the mounting holes match any projectors no matter what the configuration. There are two parts, the one that attaches to the projector and the one that mounts to the ceiling. Both high quality. Also while they are locked in place securely using a well machined connection with a easy to use by hand large set screw to make sure it stays secure. But should one want to take the projector down the two parts separate easily and quickly to one can serving the projector etc. Even the white color is nice as it matches the projector and the ceiling paint color, unlike a metal color mount may have. I have no disappointments in this product at all and I did read about other mounts which some did have trouble with their fitting particular projectors. I don't think you will be disappointed if you get this mount. The adjusters knobs for the different tilts are also well made and easy to use. Could find nothing negative about this yet. It is very well designed and very high quality with good features and looks great to boot. It IS worth paying more for. If you order one when you look at the parts and things like the mount between projector half and wall mount half you will soon notice in person the quality that can not be described in words alone. 5well built, minor factory assembly mistake? Wow, price has gone up since I bought this in white in Oct 2012 ($98)...I won't add much to the already plentiful positive descriptions you can read about here. Yes, it's well built, solid, and the worm drive adjustments for 2 axes are priceless (I can't imagine trying to make precisions adjustments with simple clamping screws as described in other cheaper mounts). Don't waste your time with a crappy mount! One minor quibble, and I didn't notice this until recently when I had to take the projector down (I'm having a new roof put in and figured all the bouncing around from above couldn't be good for the longevity of the projector and bulb). I'm pretty sure it was assembled backwards at the factory--though it's possible I'm suffering from dyslexia. Easy reassembly with 2 screws. But look at it carefully BEFORE you install. The mount has a quick disconnect feature (another great reason to buy this unit!) for changing bulbs and such. By loosening a spring loaded captive retaining screw (another great feature--you can't lose it, it's always in place) and another optional security screw, you can easily slide the projector out of the base of the unit, which is more or less permanently mounted to the ceiling. Now here's the tricky part: it's hard to describe, and I'll try to upload photos as well. The part of the plate that attaches to the projector has flange/stops built in at one end; that way you can only slide the mechanism together until the parts align and no further. This is good design for two reasons.1. when you're standing there holding a heavy projector over your head you need a positive stop that doesn't require watching--you can feel it.2. This stop acts as another level of insurance, especially on a slightly sloped ceiling. The weight of the projector keeps the plate snug against the stops--to remove it requires a positive action, that you back "up hill" and out of the mount.I'm pretty sure my plate was assembled backwards. The stops were on the same side as the notch used for locating the center of gravity. This notch is supposed to be on the front of projector facing the screen. This resulted in the mechanism having to be mounted from the front sliding AWAY from the screen (and in my case "up hill"). The diagrams in the manual show the reverse: the stops are on the opposite side of notch. Not a deal breaker, and probably not even dangerous since there are 2 retaining screws holding it in place. In any case, now that the projector is down, I took the mechanism apart (2 screws) and rotated 180 degrees and reassembled. Can you follow any of this? Upon rereading, I'm not sure even I can! In any case, look carefully at the uploaded photos and diagrams and make sure everything is assembled correctly before you mount.Again, a GREAT product! 5
