Customer Reviews

Bad batch or brand gone bad? I have used Optical Quantum discs before with no problems. But two pieces from this spindle were recognized but not writable by my burner. Power2Go 10 said they were 2x but failed during the preparation phase. Windows 10's built-in burner also said 2x, but failed with a message saying the disc speed was incompatible with my burner. Returning this and will try another brand this time around. Given prior success I'll probably give Optical Quantum another try in a few months. But this specific spindle was pure coasters. 1Plex Disc but with another label on it. Totally the same inside. Same Cake box, same disc protectors on top and bottom, same media code, Optodic 002, both have the same manufactured by Optodisc. Same price even. I bought Optical Quantum when I was just starting out on bdr's. They even have the same crc test issues at the beginning of the disc. As far as I care they are the exact same media. Optodisc 002 (go to videohelp com for more info. Plex ain't great but been buying from them longer. Going back to Value Disc. Less burn errors... well no burn errors per se but the LG burner has issues reading from the beginning. So burns okay , read is totally another matter. Passes CRC test, just takes longer to read. That and literally it says 6x and thats as fast as I can burn. Value Disc 6x I can burn at 10x and no problem (12x on other burners.) 2Disk Quality Info Lots of pro/con for this so I decided to try it out. Disk ID is OTCBDR002-000 Optodisc Technology Corp. Disk scan by others can be searched via the Disk ID. Since I also have a BD drive that can do scanning, attached are my test results. The burn speed on LG BH14NS40 and LiteOn iHBS321 was 2x the whole way but the disk burn quality took a big dive on both test disks at about 15-18GB. Before that quality was "Good Enough".Printing the disk with Epson Stylus Photo R260 was excellent, interesting resulting with a bit darker image than brands I've used. 3I tried 10 of them and none of them worked. Go with another brand like XtremPro or verbatim for about the same price. I tried 10 of them and they all said to insert empty disc. I went to properties of the discs and they all said empty but also full? I tried another brand and they worked fine so it's not my writer. My suggestion is to go with XtremPro or verbatim brand just as cheap but at least they work. I used the xtremPro brand and they worked fine, play back was great. 1bbbbaaadd I think a few worked to some extent. Some work in my PS3 but none that I have burned in the last 20 or so read in either of my Sony Blu-Ray players. Furthermore, they don't come out of my players. I put them in the player and they don't read or eject so I have to mess around with power up/down/eject for quite some time just to get them out of the players. 15 out of 7 failed verification so far 5 out of 7 failed verification so far.I bought these and some value disc brand ones to see how they were, for these the title says it all, for the value disc ones that are $6 cheaper and I had only 3 out of 50 fail, I am not sure I want to even bother with the rest of this spindle. 1Perfectly Usable Blank Media Nothing incredible here, but I will admit that the "printable" part is really, really useful for writing on with a pen. Most writable media has pretty slick, hard to write on tops, and it makes it a bit of a pain to label your disks. These were a great price, I haven't had one become a coaster because of the disk itself (programs sometimes mess up, what can you do?) and there are 50 of them.Think you can't use 50? You might be surprised. I like these plenty, and if they're on sale, I say grab 'em. 4Reliable, works with multi-session burns I upgraded to a Blu-ray when I began to notice that a 50 pack runs about the same price as dual layer DVDs, even though they hold three times as much data. With dual layer anything, you always run the risk of burn failures because of less than optimal layer breaks. That had been the case with many DVD-DLs in the past. No more. Single layer Blu-ray disks are just more reliable than DVDs. I haven't had a single coaster and am moving three times as much data off my computer with each disk. Now I'm kicking myself for not having upgraded sooner. 5These Are Junk--Don't Buy!! I bought these so I'd have some on hand when I ran out of my current discs. The first disc took a really long time to burn. The PC was making noises I hadn't heard before. Sounded like being at the beach. After about 1.5 hours, it finished, burning at 6x speed. I tried to make another copy, but it errored out with a write error. I tried again. Same thing. I thought I was going to have to buy a Blu-ray drive. However, my sister had given me some Sony discs, non-printable. Wow! What a difference! The PC recognized that it could burn at 12x speed and it was done in no time. No weird noises. The Sony discs felt like I am used to Blu-ray discs feeling, a little thicker than DVD discs. These Optical Quantum discs feel like DVD discs. Now I have 47 of these worthless discs left and the return window was in May. Lesson learned. You CAN pay too little! Run away!! Amazon's Choice. I learned a lesson there too! 1Good Burn Performance on my LG burner. Don't spent the extra $$ on the Name brand if it doesn't burn better for you. It may be different on other Blu Ray burners, but my LG was consistent on these speeds.FYI: I have burned mostly the PlexDisc and have only had 1 coaster with other 100 burned discs. 4
