    So great I purchased another one! The steelie vent ball kit is great for holding your smartphone in place while driving. My first kit was given to me by a niteize representative at the 2016 ISTE Conference in Denver.I did not want to add the magnet to my case so I drilled a hole in my case and attached it directly to my iPhone 6. The vent kit is so great because you can easily move it to any vehicle with a horizontal vent. The kit has a strong clip and it keeps your device secure.I gave my phone, kit and case to my grandson for his car so I am buying another kit for my wife's phone.I purchased a Ballistic iPhone 7 case with an opening over the apple logo and was pleased to see that the opening works well with the magnet. No modifications were needed and the case holds the magnet in place without using the 3M adhesive. If it works itself out I will use the adhesive.There are other brands that also expose the Apple Logo and it might work for them as well. 5Works great until summer comes Works great until summer comes! The adhesive just can't handle how hot it gets in cars in summer - there's no way to order replacement adhesive once the two stickers it comes with wear off, and after a week or so of >90 temperatures, the adhesive fell off while I was driving. So has the second adhesive sticker, even though the dash ball is mounted right near one of my vents. If it were more durable I'd love it, but as is, it's not meant for people who live anywhere that gets hot in summer. 2Great idea. Lousy execution. The adhesive did not stick to my dashboard. I cleaned the dashboard with alcohol, attached the ball, pressed it firmly and let it dry 24 hours before attaching my phone to it. The adhesive fell off within a few days. This is being returned. 1Best In Class By Far I ve tried so many different phone mounts. This one is by far the best mainly because it s simple. The ball that mounts to your dash takes up 70% less room than other phone mounts. That s a massive advantage when you want your phone to be within reach and as close to your eyes (focused on the road) as possible. Looking away from the road is a risk. Period. The closer your phone/GPS, the faster you can get your eyes back to where they should be. Because of the small amount of real estate required, I can put it closer to my radio buttons, shift lever, 4x4 controls, or trailer brake controls than any other mount that I ve previously tried. My only concern was whether or not the phone would stay where I wanted it to. Well... The design is implemented so well, that my phone has never fallen or even shifted from where I set it. I ll be buying these forever now.Bonus: The small disc that mounts to your device is a strong magnet. That creates device mounts everywhere... 5Yes it moves but it'll still hold better then a plastic mount Very simple, relatively easy to install. Just need a decent flat surface to adhere to and then attach the magnet to your phone. I've had this mount system on 2 bikes, first one was a 2002 Yamaha r6, got up to around 130 ish with phone on the front of the gas tank and it didn't move, my current bike is an 85 Honda nighthawk, phone is mounted right below the gas cap, bike has really really stiff suspension and the phone has yet to fall off. Yes your phone will shift from time to time but it's on a sphere it's going to move. Also extra plus side since you have a magnet on your phone you can stick it on almost any metallic surface ie. Fridge, car, locker, toolbox... it's a huge plus in my book 4This original never disappoints. I've had my original Steelie for several years. I just bought a new car and didn't attempt to remove my original before trade in and just picked up this replacement. It's had been so frustrating to NOT have one for a few days. Once you have a Steelie, you can't live without! My husband has one also, so it's easy to drive either car. I did look at the cheaper copies, but Nite Ize has been tried and true, so I didn't even attempt a knockoff. In more than 3 years, my phone has NEVER fallen off, and I had a Jeep! Yes, my new car puts my messages on my dash screen and has navigation, but I only use the Waze app which doesn't sync with my built in navigation making access to my phone a must. I can't say enough about the convenience this product offers. A must have in every car you drive. 5Just buy it This is my fourth steelie ball. I have them in all the cars and a few other spots where I work. They hold up over time and work much better than other mounts I have used. It takes up minimal space and is not an eye sore. When people see how well my phone holds up to rough terrain they usually state they are going to buy one. I would recommend getting the larger sized magnet for your device. It is much stronger than the normal magnet. 5Made like garbage I'm sorry to report I purchased 5 of these and two here on Amazon. Both of the two fell apart within minutes. Luckly my phone was in a protective case or it would be toast. I'm disgusted, I will call the company's 800# in Colorado today. 2Look Ma, no hands!!! I purchasd two of the original Steelie mounts, one for my car, and one for my wife's. Unfortunately, there was no usable flat space on her dash on which to mount it. The vent mount totally solves this problem. I was a bit concerned that the vent clip wouldn't be very strong, however, those concerns were unfounded. This thing has a kung fu grip. My wife has an iPhone 5, and the magnets easily hold it upright. My iPhone 6 Plus stays securely attached, but I must admit it starts to droop forward a bit while you're driving. When removing your phone, the mount remains securely in place. It's also very easy to remove and place on another vent or in another vehicle. All in all, I am thrilled with this product, it makes hands-free driving a breeze! 5DONT BUY!! Total trash. Don t buy. Hardly strong enough to support my phone when plugged into a charger. Then after only 2 weeks I d use, the center magnet pulled out of the mount on my phone. I super glued it but now it barely holds and falls off all the time so I don t even use it. Complete waste of money, and the return window closes after 1 month so I m stuck with useless trash. My wife has the same issues and will be writing a negative review as wel. 1
