Very high quality, well stored and taken care ofA+ seller, shipped promptly and received in perfect shape. Freshness marks were perfectly red and boxes sealed as they were intended. Boxes were also strapped very well to maintain integrity and all packages consumed so far have been entirely intact and as fresh as they can be.As far as uses, hurricane ride out food, camping food, and food while on the road as well as any other emergency situation-these cover all of it and I even find myself consuming them here and there while out fishing or otherwise enjoying outdoor activities. They are great for convenience and relatively light packing for 2-3 day trips. I'm a big guy, and each package consumed leaves me filling entirely satisfied but not overfilled. So far, even the vegetarian options have been equally satisfying. I would recommend these packs to anyone for a variety of reasons, and would even consider making one of these for dinner if I was unhappy with everything I have in the fridge.5Real deal at an excellent priceReceived both cases in good condition, as advertised, both A and B menu cases were 2017 production and had a 2020 inspection date. Ive bought many cases of military surplus MREs over the years from surplus stores ( i live near a major military installation), and could usually expect to pay the same price or higher for much older cases.have gone through one case so far, used mostly for backpacking meals. Every meal package in pristine condition, every flameless ration heater has worked perfectly for a nice hot meal (the FRH may work poorly or not at all as they age, not an issue here)5The perfect survival mealsFor camping, emergencies, or just a break from traditional cooking - nothing beats the MREs. I keep a large supply of these on hand for camping or emergencies. I try not to let any of them go beyond five years from date of packing and so far I've never encountered one that was spoiled. You never get this type of quality or variety in any other emergency food. I've discovered that the per meal cost for the MREs is a lot less expensive than the cost of other camping, long-term storage or emergency foods. And with the MREs, you get not just one entre in a pouch, but typically some sort of bread or crackers, a spread for that, a main dish, a snack, a beverage, and lots of other convenient snacks. Since they can be eaten cold (although the main meal does taste better heated with the enclosed chemical & water heating device, they seem to be the perfect stand-by for emergency food. They will last longer than five years from date of packing, but I've found that the taste of the individual items tends to deteriorate after five years. These were what the US Army fed us in the field and I enjoy then now just as much as I did when I was in the Army. Yes, they weigh more than the typical 1-pouch Mountain House or other type of emergency food packet, but the variety is worth the extra weight. Do the math. If you're paying $74 per case on Amazon (approximate depending on vendor) that means you're paying 6.17 per meal. And it's a complete meal with a snack or two left over. Try to match a meal like that with any other camping or emergency food....5Five StarsI would buy it again. Every thing looked new and package wasn't damage at all5Everything Came As Promised/Meal Was Surprisingly GoodFirst off, everything came as promised: I ordered both the case of A menu and B menu. Both were bound tightly together and tightly to each other. The manufacture and inspection dates were as advertised. Having never eaten an MRE before, but looking for an emergency food source, I watched several videos on YouTube (I would advise this) on the MRE and learned what to expect and how to use the simple heating method. After they arrived I opened one box and chose a meal and laid it all out and ate it. It was the chili macaroni meal item, and it was surprisingly pretty good all around (crackers and desert). I wouldn't hesitate to bring MREs as camping food (which is really what they are meant to be). As a source of emergency rations for my house, I am totally satisfied.5they are cheaper than buying my lunch and I like a hot mealI use these MRE's for lunch at work, they are cheaper than buying my lunch and I like a hot meal. There is a lot of food in these meals so I break them down into a "breakfast", "snack" and "lunch". The FRH"s have been really fresh and the food has been great. While there a couple of things in these that I won't eat, I can usually give that to my son and he's more than willing to take them. A 2020 inspection means they are manufactured in 2017. Good till 2023 and then some.5Be preparedI lived through hurricane Katrina. MRE s came in very very handy. I suggest anyone living in a hurricane, or natural disaster prone area to stock up. They re not the best tasting but definitely not the worst. Each meal comes with drink powder, salt, pepper, hot sauce, etc... to give better taste. We had to wait for days before the stores were ever able to open their doors to customers. Buying them in bulk saved me an appreciable amount vs buying them from the nearest army surplus store, but YMMV.I use these when hunting so I can stay in a tree from dawn to dusk without having to come back down to the ground. One of these, 3 bottles of water and an energy drink will keep you awake throughout the daylight hours as long as you pace yourself.About the best you can say when it comes to MREs is that some are less inedible than others. Obviously, if you're buying government-issued rations, you're more interested in getting a self-contained packet for hunting/hiking/wargames/prepping/etc... than you are about getting a gourmet meal.4
