Customer Reviews

Hoses Fail - Can FLOOD Your Kitchen Cheaply made hoses will fail, flooding your kitchen. Ours did exactly 2 years after install causing a small flood under the sink. Luckily I was home. Also if you're lucky, only the pull down retractable hose will fail (Moen 150259, Replacement Hose Kit) and not the cold or hot water hoses. This leak will spray water under your sink and flood your cabinets. Moen happily sends out warranty replacement parts, but offers no solutions for a more durable part. Since the connector is proprietary, there are no options at this point other than getting another brand faucet or proactively replacing the hoses every 18 months. Please do your research before buying this faucet. Only now, 2 years later, am I seeing similar reviews. This issue is plentiful and easy to search for. This part is used in all Moen High-Arc Pull Down Faucets. 1Good faucet, but a couple things you should know We've had this faucet installed for about a month and overall I'd call it a good faucet. The motion sensors seem to work well. There are actually two sensors. There is one on the back of the goose neck that turns it on whenever you have something in front it, and then turns off when that object moves out of range of the sensor. There is another one on the top of the goose neck that turns it on and lets it run until you turn it off again with another wave of the arm over that sensor. Pretty nifty to have both options. That being said, we previously had a Delta Touch faucet so my review is probably skewed a bit based on how I THOUGHT this product would work based on how that one did. With our previous touch faucet, you could leave the handle on, with it set to a certain temp, and then you would just touch to turn it on or off at that temp. This faucet is NOT like that - as in, there is a separate box that goes under your sink that controls the water temp when it turns on in the motion mode. If you want to change the temp, you have to go down under the sink to do that each time. This is OK for the most part and we keep it set at lukewarm, but sometimes I want it at a different temp and it is annoying to have go undo the baby latch and go under the sink to change it.The water pressure seems to be lacking with this faucet as compared to our old one. I'm not sure if that is the faucet itself or if there is some other setting to tweak - my husband is going to look into that. The faucet does look nice and was doable to install yourself, however it was definitely more complicated than a regular faucet and more so than the previous Delta touch faucet as well. 4Awsome Bought this to replace original faucet we installed when building the house 8 years ago. It was a couple hundred more than the exact one without the motion sense but we had cheaped out when building the house so we thought we would do it right this time. It has been up and running for two weeks and wow this thing is freakin awesome. I havnt needed to touch the valve once so far since I installed it. Very few products have a wow factor like when you first start to leerily use your new iPad and then realize this thing just changed your life. This ,so far, is one of those products. I read the reviews on the delta and decided to go with this and am very glad I did. Installation was not very difficult. I have a construction background but a layman could do with no issues. It has click in connectors which I was leery about but they seem very solid and you just have to make sure you click them in and give them a tug for security. I am the kind of person who reads as much info on reviews before I buy so I hope this helps. 5Motionsense has been updated for water temperature control in auto mode.Don't listen to older reviews that use the older version I usually do not take the time to write reviews on products I have purchased but this faucet is awesome so I feel compelled to write this 5 star review. If you read some reviews you will notice that one negative feature that is constantly shared by owners is that you have to adjust the water temperature for the auto water feature at the control box under the sink. The reason I mention this is because Moen listens to reviews and has fixed that issue. If you buy a older version of any motionsense Moen faucet it will come with a grey control box which mounts under the sink. That older design box requires you to change temperature for the auto feature at the box. The newer versions of any Motionsense faucet by Moen comes with a black control box. With that version the water temp is set by the manual water control handle. Just put the water temp where you want it with the manual handle while the auto feature is dispensing water and leave it. You can adjust it using the handle while the water is running. Kudos to Moen for listening to consumers and updating this feature. Now, the only negative I can see is that the manual handle is also controlled by the Black electronic box under the sink. The reason I see that as negative is that if the black electronic box fails then even the manual handle will not produce water. Either way I just love this faucet. The 3 toilets in my home all use touch-less flush technology so I just had to buy this faucet especially since I have all Moen Brantford fixtures in my entire home. Just remember that with touch less technology there are always some negative nuances but as the technology evolves it just gets better and this faucet is the proof. One thing that I would like to see Moen change is the fact that this faucet has to be mounted with the control handle off to the right side. You cannot mount it with the handle in back, left or front. That is due to the sensor wiring running thru the goose neck but there are designs for wiring that Moen could utilize to get around this. I had to buy a very low deck height air gap for my dishwasher to be able to make room for the manual handle to function properly. Other reviewers have mentioned this and it is only a issue with the Motionsense version of this faucet. Also, if you feel the water pressure is not high enough then remove the restrictor assembly from the faucet before mounting. All in all this faucet is phenomenal and I am extremely happy with this purchase!!! 5Beautiful but Defective Product - Bad Customer Service I will start by saying, I think I would really love this faucet. It's beautiful and looks like it would be a great addition to our new home. HOWEVER - I purchased this faucet and the AC Adapter that was suggested with it and when our plumbers tried to install it, they couldn't get it to work. Since installing plumbing fixtures is one of the last things to go in before a new construction project is complete and you can move in, we ended up moving into our home with no working kitchen faucet on 12/22/2017. We have been talking to Moen even before the move in date and they first said that the problem could be batteries - so we purchased all new batteries....nope. Then they said that the Adapter THEY recommended was a different generation from the faucet so they had to mail a new one. That came relatively quickly and we tried it.....nope. So they sent another part that it could be. That didn't arrive until yesterday - 1/10/17 and that didn't fix this either. Let me remind you that we have been moved in since December 22nd and have had no Kitchen Faucet. We have had to use our laundry room utility sink which is on the complete opposite side of the house to wash dishes that can't go into the dishwasher and wipe down counters. But - back to the story - we call Moen again today to inform them that the latest part didn't work. They then said we need to make sure the filters are clear. 1) This is a new product - why would filters be clogged and 2)why wasn't that brought up the VERY. FIRST. TIME. we called? When my husband asked that they said they were sorry but had to troubleshoot all possibilities. So now he has to run home over lunch - which we live out of town - to check filters so we can keep this process moving. We're obviously going to need to purchase a new faucet, and shame on us for believing that Moen would make this right so we waited like na ve idiots for 3 weeks (and counting) without water in OUR KITCHEN to finally give it up and go purchase another faucet. We totally understand that sometimes things just don't work and you have go through the steps. But should those steps take 3+ weeks to rectify with no end in sight? Today we are nowhere closer to having a working kitchen faucet than we were 4 weeks ago. When does this become really terrible customer service on Moen's part? All I can say is we better be getting a full refund for this obviously defective product and for the hours, days, weeks, we have wasted trying to fix it when as a consumer you should expect to purchase a NEW product and have it work. Not be put through the ringer. Who would be okay buying a kitchen faucet and waiting 3+ weeks for their new product to work? A kitchen faucet is an item that is pretty important and something used quite frequently in a home. Especially one like ours that has 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog and cat. And since it's new construction, no yard - so lots of MUD! And it wasn't installed by us - but a licensed, professional plumber. Sheesh - if they can't get it to work, why are we checking filters and changing batteries and waiting a month for a resolution? 1Insanely easy installation. This thing practically hugged you out of ... Pros: Insanely easy installation. This thing practically hugged you out of the box. It took me forever, as a newbie, to uninstall the old and 45 minutes to put this thing in, not a single problem. They say all plumbing is three trips to the hardware store. This is so well-thought out - I did two. One to buy everything the how-to sites told me to and one to return all those things an hour later.Cons: It's a tiny bit splattery, in general - or misty in the sink area. Separately, I don't like that when my husband uses the sprayer it remembers that when I turn it on the next time. I do wish it reset. It's almost twice as high as our old one. Perfect for houses built yesterday with their oversize kitchen areas. I'm still getting used to it (about a month now) and it seems a bit out of scale. This is the biggest con. With the handle on the right (or left), over the stainless steel/metal base, every time you turn the handle off with your hands wet - you sort of dirty the whole thing up with water spots and soap. Our old one was front and center.Overall, I would probably buy it again. I'm still feeling a bit like a rock star every time I use it. Kudos for Moen for writing/illustrating perfect instructions that any idiot could install if they bothered to read them.Tips for others: You might not need that old supply line(s) for hot and cold that hooked up to your old faucet. This faucet has super long lines off of it that should just go directly to your pipe. Also, before you start uninstalling, go ahead and take that long gray plastic tube out of the box. This is a tool provided for install, but it might, might, might (send a prayer) be useful in getting your old faucet out when you go to try and unscrew it up in the very back of your sink (in lieu of your entire collection of wrenches and knocking your head against everything under the sink). Also, another reviewer said you don't need plumber's putty. She was right: you don't. They made a special soft plastic thing you can use instead. It works. Nothing is leaking in the area down below. 4Changed my life.... This faucet has changed my life. I find myself walking up to other faucets and expecting them to just know I'm there and to give me water, and I become frustrated that I have to wield a lever, as my ancestors before me were relegated to do when their hands or dishes needed washing. This faucet has the beauty of the old world with the subtle functionality of the future. Although I am sure motion-activated faucets will be the norm soon, at this point, anyone who seeks water from our kitchen sink becomes mired in the magic of a touch-free tap. If you are in the market to buy a kitchen faucet, and you don't buy this (or another MotionSense faucet), you will miss out on the gasps and looks of awe that your faucet could be inspiring. We've used this faucet for about 6 months, and so far, it's been bullet-proof, and works flawlessly, every time. Extremely highly recommended. 6 stars, or more, if I could. 5Leak/fail: MUST read before you destroy your Kitchen!!! Do Not Buy this if you have any amount of harder water! This is the SECOND one of these Pos faucets that failed in three years. Google "moen kitchen faucet cartridge failure" and you will see it's a common problem. The company does very quickly respond and ship you out next day a new one. So I will give them that, but here is the issue. Moen faucets have a universal cartridge body that's meant to allow a plumber with the right tools to swap in a new valve control system right into the inks unit. Why? So you can potentially avoid having to buy a whole new facet when/if these fail. Here's the issue: the cartridge had 2 o-ring seals on it that go into the housing. So if you have well water, hard city water, debris from say a water line repair from the city, etc doesn't mater occurs the debris / calcium can and WILL damage the seals on the facet cartridge and then it will start to leak at the point of the faucet handle. Read on the internet it happens ALOT! No big deal right? $30-40 cartridge and replaced done. But wait... let's say your away for a day or two. Or in my case over night... and the water then dripped all over the counter and then down the cabinets to where it just damaged the wood on high end expensive custom wood cabinets and flooring! So this $30-40 "easy to swap when we know it fails" cartridge goes bad it can potentially cost you $5000 in damage or more! In my case it was drizzling into the basement so my kitchen and my finished basement were damaged! Yes it's pretty, very it operates well, yes yes yes! But this is the SEcond one that failed in three years! Same point same issue and of course it's not their problem to cover the damage. So I warn anyone with an expensive custom kitchen to AVOID any of these moen facets with this cartridge system unless you 100% know you have pristine water conditions. In our case we have mild hard water, not enough to put a softener on. But that is my only guess as to why this failed twice in two years! Who would think that when you spend money on a product like this with their "buy it for life" advertising they have a known failure point that hundreds of people have the same issue with over and over! I'm so angry about the amount of damage this second one failing caused. I hope my story saves at least one other person from what I'm going thru. Piece of crap cartridge design. 1Really attractive, I love it. This is a great faucet because it is solid brass construction, no plastic parts like the ones you buy at the Home Improvement stores. It is really attractive. Amazon had a better price than I could find elsewhere. It is a perfect size, I dislike those gigantic faucets that are so trendy right now, so this is modern and up-to-date without being huge. I used it with the escutcheon (deck plate) to cover the 3 holes, but you could use it without if you have a single hole. FYI, there is a matching bar faucet that's just a bit smaller which I used on my island sink. 5The faucet is very beautiful. But one month after installation The faucet is very beautiful. But one month after installation, the hose doesnt retract completely and a small gap is visible. I have tried retracting completely down hoping it would self correct, but it still hangs down slightly. Update real quick. I adjusted the counter weight under the sink which fixed the problem!:) 3
