    Not as advertised Product rec'd does not look like the picture, the brush is stapled on not riveted like all Bob Ross Paint brushes are. This product is made in Germany thru Dixon, not USA like it claims in the listing. And the bristles were assembled and the metal band pinched too tightly that it's bent. 2you'll be painting like the pro himself-Bob Ross e along with ALL of Bob Ross's tools & paints. If you're a beginner- USE BOB ROSS'S TOOLS & PAINTS. You will learn to paint with ease & quickness...and very soon, you'll be painting like the pro himself-Bob Ross! Bob died July 4th, 1995...following his wife's death 2 yrs earlier. They left a son, Stephen, behind who yo this day is carrying on his Dad's legacy traveling the great US teaching his Dad's Joy of Painting techniques. We will all miss that calm, soft spoken happy Christian whose voice has often been compared to being dosed on Demerol. Yeah, he had THAT much of a soothing affect on one, just hearing good 'ol Bob speak! He has 2 seasons of Joy of Painting on Netflix to anyone whom may be interested in seeing, learning, or simply just listening - getting yourself that Demerol fix! Lol! FYI: He is also on YouTube. Bob, I KNOW you're painting beautiful pictures in Heaven for Jesus right now! And you probably have all the angels mesmerized with just your soft-soothing voice alone-not to mention your incredible paintings! Yeah, you've even blown the angels away! We'll see you on the other side, Bob! Until then, continue making those 'Happy Accidents' up there & we will down here! 5LOVE this brush!! This brush is INCREDIBLY soft! It works beautifully for smoothing things out, without moving the paint all over the canvas. I used it to smooth out the water on a scene I was painting with oils, and it was the perfect touch needed to turn my paint into more realistic reflections. I wouldn't use it on every part of my painting, but for certain techniques it is perfect. I would highly recommend it. I would also suggest getting a specialty brush cleaner and conditioner so that it stays nice!! 5Nice brush. The fibers like to go crazy, use small rubber band to keep them in shape Nice brush. It is great for foliage such as trees and bushes. Since I paint on smaller canvases, I prefer this over the larger, 1" round brush, which is actually listed as a "Foliage" brush. Be sure the experiment with the orientation of the brush and how you tap. Try taping lightly, as well as a bit harder while either bending your bristles up, or down, for different effects.The only con I have is that the fibers like to go crazy if you are rough with the brush. I use small rubber bands around the bristles when my larger brushes are not in use to keep them under control. After the brush has sat for a day or less with the rubber band around it, the bristles will be nicely formed together. It is important to note that your bristles should be completely dry before you put the rubber band on. Doing this while the bristles are still wet could lead to rot, mold or even rust. You also want to use correctly sized rubber bands. They should be snug, but not so tight that they deform the original shape of the bristles.I have on occasion actually painted with the bands on the bristles. Normally though, this is not feasible or ideal for the situation.If you are worried about bristles coming out, don't. These brushes are well built, and done so in the USA. As with any brush, you may get a few strays when it is new, but they are large, so easy to remove from your painting. I use a small brush and remove stuck bristles with a couple bristles of the smaller brush. I also use sharp pointed tweezers occasionally. 4Still a great palette knife, it is my primary palette knife tool. I've been using the Bob Ross palette knife for many years, so long that I had worn it down so that it was a tad rounded, and not as straight as I'd like. So I bought another one here. Still a great knife, although this one wasn't quite as razor flat as I would expect, it seemed to have a very slight roughness to it on the large edge. I couldn't feel it with my finger, but when trying to scrape up oil paint off a glass palette, it would leave quite a bit behind. I actually sanded it down with some fine sand paper, and after using it for a couple weeks, it seems to have smoothed out much better. Still a great knife, just make sure it's as sharp and straight as it's supposed to be (the first one I bought many years ago was perfect).I have a whole cup full of palette knives, and I use the Bob Ross one 95% of the time. The way it functions just makes sense to me moreso than the standard trowel-shaped palette knives. 4It's the 1 inch round brush that Bob often used for foliage Well, in case anyone was wondering, like I was, if this is the same as the "1 inch round brush" that Bob Ross often mentioned and used, the answer is yes it is. I'm not sure if it's always been called a foliage brush and he didn't call it that, or if it was renamed because people kept referring to it as such. In any case, I thought I would just drop this note as a review to let others know, just in case. The half size is still simply called a 1/2 inch round brush.The quality is nice as always with this line of brushes. You can expect just a few stray hairs to pull loose when it's brand new but that is very normal for natural bristle brushes. It has a nice large handle which makes it comfortable when you hold it sort of like you might hold a dart before throwing it at the board. 5No Straight Edge The edge on the #5 and #10 knives aren't straight. I had to run both of the knives over a piece of heavier grit sand paper about 30 or 40 times for each knife to make the edges straight. I'll also add that for the #5 and #10 knife, the metal wasn't even mounted into the handle properly. If you hold either one of the knives vertical you can see that the metal is mounted into the wood handle crooked. Your not making anything "Happy" with these knives straight out of the box. For the price you pay for Bob Ross signature products you should really get a good quality product, and these are really poor. And if your wondering why I gave a 5 star rating on all categories....... It's because I've found that if you write a bad review it goes to the bottom of the review list and you don't see it. So I gave 5 stars in all categories so it will go to the top of the review page. Otherwise I would give these items a fat ZERO !!!! 5Brush is great - knife likely a knockoff Half size round brush:Looks and feels good. Has the right logo, the paint is smooth and consistent, Made in the USA printed on it. Haven't painted with it yet, but the bristles feel nice, and I'm confident it'll work well.10 inch knife:Clearly much poorer quality. Quite the opposite of the almighty knife I was expecting. Says "Made in China". Has a different logo (no Bob Ross). The paint is uneven, blotchy, with a few bumps where the paint dripped. The metal part that connects the wood to the knife isn't flush/even with the wood all the way around and looks like it will pop off at some point. This is going back.Conclusion: I assume this is either an Amazon supplier problem, with fakes getting mixed into the batch (read up on it). Or the company genuinely puts out a poor knife. With the brush being so nice though, I'm not buying that... 1BAIT AND SWITCH BUYER BEWARE NOT WHAT IS PICTURED (2" blender brush) I ordered the Martin/F. Weber Bob Ross 2" blender brush. What I got was an inferior Dixon made knock off. NOT HAPPY, NOT WHAT I ORDERED NOT WHAT'S PICTURED, NOT WHAT'S DESCRIBED. The only thing the same on this brush from the Martin F. Weber version are the bristles. Everything else is cheap material not well made. From the copper ferrule to the staples instead of rivets holding it together. 1Like painting with Bob's afro Bought this brush along with the 1in landscaping brush to use with oil paints and odorless thinner after getting fed up with cheap hardware store brushes shedding. Upon being exposed to even the slightest moisture the brush frayed out completely. If I am still too much of a beginner and just don't know that's what these brushes are meant to do I will re adjust this rating. My Artist friend(who's specialty is oil paints) laughed at them and was relieved that he hadn't picked them up when he was considering trying them.Pros:Is in fact a brushApplies PaintAt least doesn't shedBob Ross is on the handleCons:The Bristles seem to be allergic to each other and want to be no where near each otherInstantly frays out of control 2
