Customer Reviews

Good tool!this is a great quick change adapter. I originally had the Klein tools version for years but lost it and was sad when I learned it was discontinued. This tool is great because you can use your impact to run a screw down 95 percent of the way and then stop and switch to the hand driver to finish tightening the screw in weaker materials where an impact would easily strip out crumbly masonry or thin sheet metal. Tapcons and self tappers don't have to be super tight to do their job but they need to be snug without stripping out and that can be tricky with an impact sometimes.5Although both tools are of nice quality and valueThis is NOT as much a criticism of the Malco nut driver handles as is it that Amazon sells the "TEKTON 2938 Quick-Change Power Nut Driver Bit Set with Detents, 14-Piece" as an ADD-ON ITEM to go with it. Although both tools are of nice quality and value, the 3/4" long hex SHANKS on the TEKTON bits are TOO SHORT to allow them to reach far enough into the nut driver handles for the ball to lock them in. The hex part of the shanks need to be at least 13/16" long for the groove in the shank to line up with the detent ball. If you want to use the bits with the handle you will need to grind a little off the shoulder of each bit. Somebody didn't do their homework on this deal....3Best Quick Change Screwdriver EverI've used several different types of bit drivers and interchangeable screwdrivers (Stanley, Husky, Craftsman, Dewalt). This one is the best by far. Granted, using the longer impact style bits is a little more expensive, but they are well worth it for a few reasons.1. The bits LOCK in place versus just a magnet or ring type retention method. This means that if you drop it or the bit gets bound up in a fastener, it won't come out of the screwdriver. No more dropped/lost bits.2. With the bit drivers, they are often too large to get down into blind holes because the shaft is so much wider than the bit. This is not the case with the impact style bits. The shank is essentially the same size as if you were using a fixed screwdriver.3. You can select shorter or longer bits and still have a fairly rigid setup, without having to resort to extensions that wobble around and rattle.5So this act like a permanent screwdriverI have been looking for this type of screw driver handles for a LONG LONG time, but never knew how to find it. Dear Amazon had ti but it never spits out unless I give the magic word "screwdriver handle"!!!This has solid "bite" so once it grab a hex screw bit, it never let go.So this act like a permanent screwdriver, but changeable tips.I have been using impact driver with this type of grib, now I know it is called "QUICK change" or QUCK release.. etc.Once it bites a tip, it stays just like an impact screwguns. But you can still change the tips. There thousands of screwdriver handles that accept different bits, but nothing like this. This QUICK change type grab the bit, won't let it go,most other types of MAGNETIC which is WORST kind, i lost many bits. There are 2 different types of hex bits, one with NARROW neck that is suitable for this type of QUICK changing handles.Other kinds are just short bit that don't have the narrow neck, so the bits can get lost. Magnetizing never gurantee that the bit stays.5Great tool by MalcoThis Malco Connext 1 Quick Connect is perfect for your tool bag or toolbox the handle except hex head screw tips and nut drivers and is very convenient the handle is made with quality materials. This handle will be in my tool bag for many years to come. The handle helps me get to tighter areas when my impact driver will not fit. I love this Malco Connext 1 this handle is well worth the money you spend on it and it's not too expensive. 5 stars for this product and I do recommend it 100%5Quality Screwdriver HandleIt's getting hard to find screwdrivers with good handles. Everyone is hung up on "cushion grip" or "ergonomic" handles that have soft material attached to the handle. This is a big mistake, because the rubber breaks down into a gooey mess when exposed to oxygen, sun, and oils. This one has a clear acetate handle like the screwdrivers of old that lasted 50 years. Thank you Malco for not going that route! The chuck holds with minimal wobble. A couple of minor nit picks: The shank only goes into the handle about 1-1/4", wish it went 3" or so for maximum strength. The handle is unnecessarily fat, a little fatter than most screwdrivers. Again, minor nit picks. I think you will like this handle, it works with all my notched impact driver bits, even the double-ended type.4I like the handle, but the quick connect system could be better. First off it looks and feels well made the handle feels very solid, good weight to it, its very smooth besides the ridges in it which add a good amount of grip to it.There is a magnet to hold in the bit as well as the quick connect system. This Won't work with one 1" bits like the Milwaukee quick lock system. This mainly lost stars because the locking system does not lock it in tight, not that the bit can be pulled out, but it can wiggled around slightly in there.I decided not to get the stubby one for that reason. 3Excellent handle for hex screwdriver bitsI used this handle with some inexpensive Yakamoz 1/4 Hex Shank Magnetic Cross Phillips Screw Head Screwdriver Bits and it worked great. It is very easy to change bits, it holds the bits securely and the handle feels nice. So I recommend it.5The Next Tool To Never Leave Your Pocket I got this tool to make fine adjustments when using multiple quick change drive bits. What I did not expect was this bit holder to be the first tool I either put in my pocket or tool pouch when working around the house. Toss in a needed bit or two in my pocket and off I go. Fantastic tool to have in your tool collection.Very well made and has the "feel" of a quality tool that has a much higher price tag. 5Nice hex bit driver Materials and quality are great. This hex bit holder works best with the longer hex bits that have the locking groove around them. It will hold the shorter hex bits with a strong magnet that's inside the bit holder. The shorter bits don't stick out of the end very much at all, but it is enough to work fine. Getting the short bits out requires pliers to grab them because the magnet is pretty strong. I just snap in a magnetic bit holder when I use short bits as no tool will cover both bit types well. 5Appears to be a well made tool....I like this a lot, it has a definite solid feel to it. The clear acetate handle looks sharp too. I intended to use this with the TEKTON 2938 Quick-Change Power Nut Driver Bit Set. Unfortunately, the Tekton bits are too short and won't fully engage into the Malco handle.....bummer. For the record, my Dewalt SAE nut drivers fit the handle perfectly. Trouble is, Dewalt doesn't make metric drivers. So I ended up buying the Titan Tools 15223 Metric Nut Driver Set - 6 piece. Kind-of pricey but they're quality drivers, made in Taiwan and they fit like a glove. https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Tools-15223-Metric-Driver/dp/B005MVBCFY/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1544945164&sr=1-1&keywords=titan+metric+nutsetter. Using the Malco Connext will eliminate carrying an array of different nut drivers in my Veto tool bag thus saving weight and space. Gotta love that.5Awesome handle.Great size, great feel. The magnet is strong and the quick release works well. The handle works great with my tips, I also ordered the MIP tips to go with this. Should be an excellent setup.5Great buy, many applications! Works on every 1/4 Impact Chuck that I have needed to use by hand, except for an Ace Hardware sales "cheap" bin set of 1/4 to socket adapters. I use it as a magnetic nut driver. Works exceptionally! Just get longer bits because this is basically a stubby driver with a full hilt. 5Looks nice, and it is convenientThis is a good looking tool, and seems well made, I like the clear handle. I would prefer a little better balance and weight, perhaps if they extended the metal shaft farther into the plastic handle for better balance and feel in hand or if there was metal insert at top of screwdriver handle to balance the weight. Otherwise this is excellent for what it does. I haven't had it long enough to test durability.5
