    Great Flashlight I love this flashlight. It is small and I was surprised by the light it produces from a pair of NiMH AA batteries. Having two levels of brightness is good because sometimes you don't want a "searchlight".NOTE: If you have a problem with flickering, make sure the tail cap (opposite the LED) is screwed in tightly. My light flickered occasionally. After a couple incidents I noticed that the tail cap was just a tiny bit loose. Now I make sure it stays tight and have had no further problems. 5These little lights are powerful, and inexpensive for what ... These little lights are powerful, and inexpensive for what you get. Don't trash them when they start to flicker after about a year, clean the end cap with a fingernail file, around the sealing rim, and lightly file the body of the light where the cap screws down. Flicker fixed. Its aluminum, it's going to corrode a tad, you can't stop it. Vaseline on the mating surface extends corrosion time some too. 5IF OVER 75, ALWAYS CARRY A MINI-MAGLITE WITH YOU WHEN LEAVING YOUR HOME This is, without exception, the brightest and best constructed mini-Maglite I have ever held. Unfortunately, (since I'm 80 and a number o infirmitys, my doctor insists that I carry a mini-Maglite with me at all times, but it must be a model that flashes an SOS code if I fall in the snow and cannot get up. (his has previously hsppened to me, and trust me in sharing with readers that It is a very frightening experience.This model mini-Maglite doesn't have the SOS capability, so I had to return this model and order one with the SOS feature. Also, mu thanks to Amazon for their understanding and help. .A few suggestions for other GEEZER's Like me: Pay very close attention to all of your physicians instructions. Following my Docs orders, I take my Warfarin and Blood Pressure meds as ordered, have my INR Tests per schedule, and ALWAYS carry 3 things with me whenever I leave my home.First, my mini-Maglite with the SOS capability in my left pocket, my cully charged cell phone with confirmed 911 capability in my right pocket, and a metal cane in my right hand. (My children, who are in their 50s, term my phone "The I've Fallen and Can't get Up Device). For whatever it's worth, I've survived a Stroke that left me with Ataxia, and one heart attack. Still, weather permitting, I walk every day with a goal of2-1/3 miles, enforced by my Garmin health bracelet that alarms when my pulse exceeds 250 beats/min. Also, since my brain still thinks, I often have to remind it that I "can't do that anymore". My goal is to maintain my independence for the next 2 years, then join my beloved wife in Heaven. 5Find cobwebs, scare varmints and large predators Spiders have evolved to where some of them can make almost invisible webs in your house. This powerful little light will help you spot them. Also, it lights up the yard. Pretty nice to have a powerful flashlight for a change.We have mountain lions around here and I believe they will scat if illuminated by this. It works on all of your common varmints.Some complain about the twist to switch action. A button on the back would have been better, but I am ok with it as it is.There was some of that turning off while in use syndrome. I turned it on and off a bunch of times in order to create a good contact. So far this has worked.Like many others, I appreciate the made in USA sticker and bought it over the 1.3 million competitors from China!It would be cool to have a version with three or four batteries. 4Best Maglite Yet This Mini PRO+ LED Maglite is an outstanding flashlight and yes, it's super bright!I am a long time Maglite fan and have owned several models.As a contractor I use flashlights every day, and Maglite's have proven to be the best.I used to use the 2D and 4D models as my regular flashlights, but after using thisPRO+ LED for several months I will never go back. This light is super bright, brighterand more powerful than the big 4D model and it's so compact you can wear it on your belt.Expensive, but worth it! 5Made in USA - good quality. Just what you d expect from Mag. Nice construction, good brightness for a AA light. It won t be as bright as the best of the Li-ion 18650 powered lights, but that s a function of how hard you can push AA alkaline batteries. Still, it is nice to have a light that uses cheap, readily available, ready to go (no charging) batteries. A great emergency light. Store with a box of Ray-O-Vac Fusion AAs that have a 12 year storage life and very good power, and you have a good plan for lights out . 5American made and super reliable Made in America and is plenty reliable. Daily usage mechanic approved.I got tired of buying Chinese LED flashlights that were bright, but would give up the ghost in a matter of a couple of months.These Maglites have a twist type on/off that is far more reliable than any button switch type would be. I have used 2 of them for the last 7 months and not a failure yet. And if it ever fails I will just send it back under the lifetime warranty. Try getting a lifetime warranty on a Chinese led.Only thing I don't care for is the plastic lens, but it seems there are replacement boroglass lens available to purchase aftermarket. 5Pretty good little light. Love the two power-levels, the size, the battery life, and the belt pouch.Don't like that the connectors get intermittent, leading to the light flickering now and then. Have to give it the old corrective smack from time to time.Because I have bad vision in low light, I have this with me at all times. You'd be surprised how often it comes in handy for things other than just helping me see. The belt pouch makes carrying it effortless, though I do worry that a jumpy cop might think I have a pistol. Since I live in an open-carry state, that's not a problem by itself. But pulling it from the pouch might look like I'm drawing a gun, so I always look around first to be sure no cops are nearby. 4which is great, but it has no low voltage compensation This flashlight is definitely bright with full batteries, which is great, but it has no low voltage compensation. This means that when the batteries fall below about 70% of charge, the lumen (brightness) output of this flashlight drops off considerably, and becomes maybe half as bright. This means I'm having to change the batteries about every 2 weeks, as I use my flashlight on a near daily basis for work. I've tried rechargeable batteries, but those drop off even faster. 3 stars because, like all Maglites, it is highly durable, which is just as important to me as brightness, as I tend to drop it frequently. 3Dont buy it if you need anything more than a toy. It lasted one year, I do not recommend it. I bought one, it stopped working, so I emailed maglite, they sent me a new one. This is the second one, and it just failed on me. I need a flashlight in my flight bag for preflight checks, I've used this one maybe a dozen times with good rechargable batteries. (the Duracells that came with the first one ruined the flashlight). Anyway, don't buy it if you are going to depend on it or you expect it to last. 1
