Customer Reviews

wow great fit, even for larger men! 5Two Stars This fits extra large at best. If your at bigger than 52" suit coat, don't bother. 2Stop looking this is a good oneI m a 6 4 and a big guy and this covers me well. It is well made, durable and the suede is thick and soft. It protects me well and I fully expect to hand it down to my kids it s that durable. I did try some others I ordered on here and they were not very big or wel made. I should have gone with Lincoln to begin with! Truly an amazing company5Perfect sizeUnlike other leather aprons, this one has no pockets to collect weld spatter, slag, and grinding debris. It is a generous size in both the width and the length. I'm 6' and 250 pounds and this hangs down below my knees and around my sides. Perfect. The straps support the minimal weight over your shoulders and not around your neck. I am a tad wide in the middle and still have a lot of adjustabilities left in the waist strap. I've had many aprons over the years, but for welding, grinding, and plasma cutting, this is the best so far. Nice job Lincoln.5Great PPE for a Metal Hobbyist!Thick leather that cover almost to my feet and I am 5'11" or 6'. With my steel toed boots, I will be very protected chest on down. Maybe I can use my cutting torch more. Ahhh! I live leather smell.5Great for ForgingI use this as part of my safety gear when I am forging and it has worked fantastic. I would recommend if you are welding or doing anything with hot steel, you grab one of these to protect you against sparks, slag or any other flying debris.5Great fit for big guysThis is a great apron for a large guy! I typically wear XXL size in most things. I also wear a 52" jacket and would be classified as a big man. Other aprons are generally too small on me and I've struggled to fasten them in the back. I have been able to wear this apron comfortably for extended welding sessions. It provides good coverage. My sides are still protected and I am able to easily fasten the clip in the back. The apron is longer than others that I've worn. It easily covers below the knees on me. The leather is also softer and more pliable than other aprons I've worn. Overall, I've been quite happy with this apron.PROS: Good fit, back straps are easy to snap, comfortable, length covers past knees.CONS: Clasps are cheap plastic and will probably break in the future.5I love this apronI love this apron. I do a lot of welding crouching down and was tired of my junk looking like I had some strange disease from all the burns. Everything has now mostly healed I'm happy to say and when I'm not welding in it I wear it to chase the neighborhood kids with a chainsaw. Great multipurpose apron!5Decent Light Welders ApronLittle thinner than I wanted but at the price I paid I will accept that. Seams and what not look good and strong. I just do light duty welding maybe once a month if that so I should get a lot of wear out of this apron.4Excellent blackmithing apron! I bought this for my son for Christmas for his blacksmithing hobby. He loves it and says it does a great job protecting his clothes from hot coals, embers, etc. 5First impressions: size, fit, materialsLiterally arriving minutes ago, this is about first impressions. Tanning differs; the hide I received is much lighter and yellower than the picture; not quite mustard, but not pumpkin orange. The leather is suede both sides, very soft and compliant. It's shedding a tiny bit, but not even worth mentioning. It's a good bit softer than I expected, but from prior experience with suede, I have no doubt it will be tough enough. It ranges from .050" to .070" in thickness at the edges (~.13-.18mm). The "fuzz" makes it look thicker. It's assembled from seven pieces, well-stitched and riveted very securely at the outer edges. Looks well made.Straps are a fairly lightweight, light yellow webbing, perhaps cotton, but I suspect by feel a cotton/synthetic blend. They're not 100% synthetic, not nylon. They're sewn to the leather with a box & cross stitch of good size. Hardware is plastic, probably OK. It's a suspender arrangement, not a single neck loop. Both the suspender length and the waist belt are adjustable. The apron is 42" (1067mm) long, 11" (280mm) wide at the very top, 23" (584mm) at the middle, and tapers to 25" (635mm) at the bottom of the skirt. I'm 6' 2" (1880mm) tall, 255 pounds (116kg). I'm fairly small framed and waaaay too big in the middle, about 50" (1270mm) around the table muscle. After shortening the suspenders to get the bib up to my collarbone, the apron extends to my knees. I could wish for it to be wider at the belly and skirt, since it tends to fall into pleats like a window curtain, but it will cover all but my sides. It will stop the strawberries against the thighs and upper body when welding, and stop the red hot projectiles as I begin to fool with forging. It weighs 1 lb. 14 oz. (~840g).I'm pleased in all respects. Price is reasonable. I paid 345 for a full skin ten years ago. To get this for 31 is a deal. I'm very pleased with the supple leather. You can tuck it between the thighs as necessary. It's not like wearing a cardboard box.If you're a really big--that is, stocky--guy, I think you're going to find the fit marginal in width. Slender folks will find there's plenty of leather here. The package size states "ALL," the size on the apron is "large."For those who can't figure out the straps:You do know, of course, that the Lincoln logo faces away from your body. Hold the apron up so that you have an opening between the two straps sewn to the top, the two you see in the product photo. Arrange the rest to make an opening on each side of this, a total of three, left to right. Your head goes in the middle hole, between the leather and the black plastic "strap organizer," which lives behind you, on your back. One arm goes in each of the other holes, like wearing a backpack on your chest . The waist strap will then dangle on your left side. Pull it around behind and snap it on the right.5Good defense against many types of airborn hot metalThis thing has really protected me well from welding spatter, and it's great defense against flying red hot metal while forging too.5Excellent purchase!Once the shedding of the suede particles stops, it will be the best. I might throw it in the wash to pull out the excess dye. I am covered all the way down to the tops of my boots. (5'5" tall) and I LOVE it! No more holes in my clothes!5Offers good protection. Came as described. A big ole hunk of leather with straps on it. I'm an artist blacksmith and this apron works perfectly. Only issue is making sure the neck straps stay adjusted properly. I would imagine that welders would love this apron as well. 4
