    They looked great and put out just the right color I was ... I bought 6 of these lights a little over 2 years ago and installed them in a kitchen. They looked great and put out just the right color I was looking for. Problem is, 2 of them failed in about 2 years of use, and I went back and ordered THE EXACT SAME PRODUCT (I just clicked on my previous order and the same product came up). Turns out it is not the same. Small problem was it was slightly larger in diameter, had to shave the opening in the ceiling to get them in. Big problem was the lights are very noticeably different - much more yellow, and dimmer. I hate them. So now I'm shopping around for a completely new set of lights.So, they get 1 star because they should have never failed in 2 years of normal use, and they are not replaceable. 1Very happy with this product so far. These lights work great so far. I just installed them as a retro fit to an 18 inch fluorescent fixture. I recommend using an old extension cord to test them (cut the end off the cord...etc.. ) The proper size hole saw is a 3 5/8". The lights them selves are pretty bright and have a warm yellowish (natural) hue to them. They are not the blueish white you normally see with LED lights. I just ordered 10 more to finish my basement.Also, there are set screws that the lights can pivot on so you can sort of point them so they are not just straight now. These seem to be a very good value. I say "seem" because I dont know the life span of this product yet. If they are still working in a year I will bump this review to 5 stars. If any of them die in less than a year OR any of the 10 I just ordered are defect, I will knock down the rating. But so far so good. I'm pretty happy with the procuct. 4A truly great alternative to can lights These units are fantastic. They are extremely bright, put out a pleasing warm light, are very compact when compared with a can light of similar radius, and their build quality is exceptional for the price. A couple of important factors to me (that aren't mentioned by Lemonbest, but perhaps should be?):1) There is nothing in these units that will vibrate (as compared with can lights made out of sheet metal) and they clamp very tightly to the ceiling. This was important to me, as they are being used in a home theater.2) All aluminum parts that can be seen from below are easily painted without worrying about getting paint on the lens, as the lens and upper portion of the assembly unscrew from the frame and pivoting bezel.A couple of notes of caution:1) These units seem to dim well if turned on fully and then dimmed, however if you attempt to bring up the light slowly from off, they don't come on until about the 80% level. Note that this could be an issue with my dimmer (Insteon Smarthome Switchlinc). I also plan to try replacing the small 7W transformer included with each of these units with a single 24V dimmable LED driver to see if this resolves the dimming issue. I'll post what I find out in this regard.2) From what I can tell, these units are not UL certified (United States); only CE (European), so they *may* not pass a strict electrical code inspection. There is also no ground hookup on either the transformer or the aluminum housing. Note that this may be overcome by attaching a ground wire yourself - there are two convenient screw holes in the back of the heatsink, and I used one for this purpose. An inspector could probably be convinced to let the lack of a ground slide anyway, as the exposed portion of the unit isn't directly attached to 120V; it only sees the 24V coming out of the transformer (and less than 30V is typically considered "safe"). 5Life of Driver For This Fixture Not a bad fixture however both of the ones I that I originally purchased failed in less than 2 years with intermittent use. First one lasted about 18 months the 2nd about 22 months. First one was probably on less than 5 hours a week. The other did get heavier use. Unless you plan on early replacement of the fixtures stay away from them. Fixtures had adequate air around them and 117 volts incoming so no obvious reason for the failures. I used a lot of LED fixtures before I retired (hundreds of them) and have never had drivers fail like this. 2Not for in-wall application. Other postings are correct. These lights will not pass U.S. residential code unless put in a can with all connectors in a metal box. 1) this light is too large for a 3 inch can and too small for a 4 inch can. 2) the wires on the transformer are too short to reach from the metal box to the light on a remodel can. 3) the transformer is too big for most metal boxes.These lights would work well in a furniture application such as shelf or cabinet lighting where a can is not required, but cannot be put in a wall unless the right can is found, which I have not been successful with. Unfortunately I took too long trying to fix the problem, and missed the return window. I guess I'll save them for future use in a cabinet. 2Best lights, almost Have not installed these as yet. I need a housing to install these lights into as they are going into a basement. Four stars only because the wire leads are so very short it takes extra time to install. 4Good light output, casts a yellow tint at the edge of the light Good LEDs for the price. Cables are quite short from the driver to the light, but this didn't cause any issue for me. If you are replacing regular recessed lights with these, be sure to measure your openings to make sure these will work. I had a small issue with this, but was able to fix it. The light output is nice in the main beam, but casts a yellow tint toward the outer part of the light. I got used to this, but it may drive some crazy. 4FANTASTIC!! I love the lights, they are perfect and my contractor used four of them in the ceiling of my rental unit bedroom and took out the one big old 6 inch recessed canister in the middle of the room, put the new lights on a dimmer switch and the room looks incredible!!!!!! They are so affordable, don't get hot, probably never need a light replaced, in my lifetime at least (!) and I think they are incredible. I actually bought 8, four warm white and 4 of them cool white and plan to use them all!! 5Great lights & the swivel head is un-mentioned bonus Great lights & the swivel head is un-mentioned bonus .easy to intall & bright & warm lights 5NOT dimmable as advertised. Not dimmable. Tried with two different LED compatible dimmers. Any amount of power less than 100% results in terrible flicker. When emailed, the manufacturer could not recommend a suitable dimmer, other than their's, which is not a standard switch size in the USA. 1
