Well maybe not 100lbs but felt like it! Well the other light is on the ... Bought this for a dear neighbor who had an emergency light with a halogen bulb and a 100lb rechargeable Ni-Cd battery. Well maybe not 100lbs but felt like it! Well the other light is on the internet and has 0-star reviews because the old dim halogen burns out from poor design, they simply drop way too much current across the bulb and it burns out like an old flash bulb & then not even replaceable! This light is A) feather light, no kidding! B) CREE LED is super bright- brighter than most auto headlamps!, C) good simple strobe or red light options, and D) our neighbor was delighted to have a new dependable light after the other was properly disposed at household waste collection facility. 5Best value, works reliably, lightweight, good beam color, very useful compared to others. Works flawlessly out of box. Very versatile as has lantern light for area lighting and red blinking for emergency or roadside use. The spotlight is focused and not spread out so good to use in foggy or rain and the color of the beam is very good white not like lots of Surefire lights that have yellow or green and cost 20 times as much. Has 2 different levels for main beam but wish it had very low. It uses 2 18650 so should be able to replace, also recharges with usb cable. I wish it had provision to store the cable in the unit as you know how these things can get lost. But easy replacement as just double sided usb. I would say pretty close to 1000 lumens from what I can tell. The light is very light also so can take it back packing or can carry for long time without getting tired. No lantern for this price comes near the reliability and function of this. 5Battery doesn't last long! UPDATE:I changed my original rating from 5 to 1 because the battery is so bad! I charged it all night in an outlet at home and brought it camping with a full battery indication on the back, went for a late night walk with the light on full brightness. The flashlight lasted an hour at most then died. Our walk back in the pitch black dark woods was a little scary...honestly, I wasn't expecting much with this flashlight but it is super bright!! I could see all the way across the lake and up the mountain clearly! The light bar on the side is awesome as well and it perfect light for a tent or smaller space!! Definitely would recommend! 1Lightweight, BRIGHT, and Functional! Bought this on an Amazon flash sale for $27.71 after having looked at it for a few weeks but wasn't sure about the original price of $35.99. Upon unboxing my first thought was how light it was. Let me tell you, this light is BRIGHT. I love all the features that it has. Came out of the box fully charged. On a recent trip back home for Easter weekend I threw the light into the backseat just in case I needed it. Turns out that I passed a stray dog on the side of the highway and used the red blinking safety light to safely walk the shoulder of the highway toward the dog. I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this during the summer camping months and for future pupper rescues! For the price I paid, I can definitely recommend. 5Rechargable lantern with useful extra functions. Hits the mark but could be a little more thought out. This appears to be a common design marketed under several different distributors/brand names. I was able to grab one during a lightning deal at a reasonable price.Main function - Spotlight [5/5]. Modes: Bright and medium bright. Brightness intensity is really good, very bright and tight beam. Also, the two light levels are controlled by a rocker switch, excellent as you know immediately what the power level is. In comparison, flashlights & tactical lights you typically have to click a button multiple times to cycle through light modes, not so with this lantern.Secondary function - White LED panel [5/5]. Use - for area lighting. Two modes, bright and low. Very useful.Secondary function - Red LED panel [2/5]. Use - emergency beacon. Flashes on/off. Signaling emergency such as a stranded situation/warning. The red LED panel would be far more useful if there were a steady on mode as well as the flashing mode. A low output red LED light source is useful for reading/viewing during nighttime when you don't want a bright white LED. Of course since it only flashes, the use is very limited.Secondary function - Charging port [3.5/5]. It's got a 3800 mAh of battery power that operates all the light modes, and in addition, can be a source of re-charge for your electronic device via the single standard USB port. The good - it's a standard USB so it's easy to charge your device no matter the type. The not so good - you've got to have a USB to USB cord (included) to charge the lantern itself. USB/USB is not nearly as common as a USB/micro or USB/c type cord (which I have laying around by the dozen.). You'd be out of luck recharging the lantern if you lost or forgot to bring along the USB/USB cable.Ergonomics/General [4/5] - It's large full-sized lantern but far lighter than you'd expect especially if your used to the old 6V style lanterns. Handle is nice plenty of room to grip with a gloved hand, there are little feet on the bottom of the unit, and it's water resistant, I've left it out in the rain. Buttons are all large, operation is common sense. The main beam is fixed and cannot be adjusted for wide/focus. Four bright blue LEDs on rear indicate charge capacity remaining. There are four blue LEDs that indicate charge remaining. I've subtracted a star as this meter isn't very accurate. What usually happens is that it stays at 3 or 4 LEDs for 90% of the remaining life and then suddenly goes dead. Similarly when recharging it, it will jump 1, 2, 3 LEDs, then recharge the 4th LED for most of the charge cycle.Aside from the quirks and oddities, and the suggested improvements/changes, I'd buy this item again. Rechargeable is the way to go and it hits the mark with it's spotlight main function being super bright and the addition of a side white LED area light panel, a very useful secondary. I'd even pay a bit more for the same item if it packed a larger battery capacity, but improve the power remaining meter, please. 4Bulky but some nice features Product could easily be half the size without sacrificing any utility. Planning on opening and soldering in another set of rechargeable batteries in parallel to take advantage of all the empty space inside! Nice solid switches. Nice to have separate actuators for all the functions instead of having to cycle through modes like many flashlights. Seems water resistant enough for rain but not accidental immersion. Red emergency light is bright and probably useful when needed such as on the side of the road. The white two-level task light on the side is where this unit really shines . Very handy as a task light or reading lamp. The bright mode illuminates a room well for power outages. The battery level indicator is a nice feature. Uses USB input which can probably also be used as an output for powering / charging small devices like a phone. (Another reason that I will be modifying with additional internal batteries.) The choice of beam pattern is interesting. This is the most focused beam of any flashlight I ve ever used. It is nice to have such a collimated output for very distant viewing. However it is actually too narrow for the midrange within about 100 feet. This is accommodated at close range by using the dispersed side LEDs for a more ambient effect. Wish this unit was more waterproof, had magnets to attach to vehicle, and was about half the size without so much hollow space. However it is well built and works exactly as advertised. Good emergency light to have around the house or to take camping. Will have phenomenal battery life if I can fit more rechargeable cells inside! 4After I bought one, I had to have another! This lantern charges quickly and offers a beam light, that has a high and low feature. The high setting easily illuminated out to 175 yards. The lantern also has a side lamp that offers a high and low, giving a bright glow, that would be useful in a power outage or camping. There is a red flashing light feature for roadside emergencies and charging is done via a USB port, and bonus, you can also charge your device (phone, etc.) from the lantern battery! Surprisingly lightweight, and sturdy. 5Best Spotlight - Recommend over Fat Max Purchased this after returning the Stanley Fat Max I bought from Walmart 2 days prior that is falsely advertised as 2200 Lumens = 920 Lumens. Nonetheless, the Fat Max was nice, but it would not fully charge (even overnight). I am extremely happy with the LE, it came fully charged and ready to go. Super bright in comparison to the Fat Max. The side lantern is also a lot brighter than I expected on the higher setting. Flashing red LEDs are very cool as well. One thing that I did notice in the instructions was that the high and low setting indicated appear to be backwards in the illustration. It indicates that the Low is one dash mark (-), and the High is the double dash mark (=). I believe this is backwards, at least for mine, (-) is High , (=) is Low. Either a misprint or my switch is not installed correctly, more than likely a misprint. No matter the reason, this light is super awesome and I highly recommend. I almost forgot to mention the 4 blue indicator lights on the back that monitor the battery charge, very cool and useful. Great purchase. 56 stars! Designed for a second pair of batteries This lantern was designed for two pairs of batteries. If you live somewhere that power goes out for days, not hours, you can get 30+ hours on the low-power floodlight, or recharge your cellphone four times. The easiest way is to buy two lanterns and then the extra battery fits right in. The circuitboard has two pairs of connectors for batteries. You'll have to solder two wires. You could also buy a second pair of batteries but these cost around $33 so you might as well buy a second lantern and throw away everything except the battery. 5Very Nice I live in the PNW and light becomes an issue in the winter. So as I'm out working on my acreage I want a light that has several functions, and a long batter life. I've been using this for about 2 months daily (about 30 min a day) and the battery still says it's fully charged. WOW! The functions are nice and I primarily use the side light to just light up an area I'm working in or out with the dog in. Very Nice! 5
