Customer Reviews

Sleek, easy to operate - love the Real Steel! Thus faucet is fantastic! The pullout spray easily glides out yet retracts without any wrestling. I love the real steel finish, I've had the faucet installed for weeks and don't think it's water spotted even once. It doesn't feel cheap - definitely quality. I love the sleek design and the shape of the sprayer is comfortable in your hand and the sprayer switch is easy to operate with one hand. I happened to purchase when Amazon was having a 20% grohe promotion so saved even more money! I am getting used to the water pressure. It's definitely less than my previous faucet although I didn't not remove the low flow valve mentioned by others...I'm on the fence if it's necessary, going to give it a few more weeks. I am very pleased with this product. I had family who remodeled their kitchen nearly 10 years ago and selected Grohe and they haven't had one issue. It's definitely more pricey than some other brands but well worth it! 5One year later, leaked under the sink, costing me big $$$ We spent over $35,000 on a kitchen remodel. I thought, isn t it tome to step up to a Grohe faucet? We bought the faucet here on Amazon, and installed it a year ago. This morning i noticed our very expensive LVP floor buckling near the sink. Stepping on the floor squished water out of the seam! Water was everywhere under the sink!I troubleshot the problem to the plastic quick connect connector that connects the main nozzel hose to the valve body. This is not an issue of something coming loose, this is the failurew of the plastic Grohe quick connector. Now I am going to have to pull up my kitchen floor to make sure that black mold does not grow under it. This is going to cost me in materials, and my time.I thought Ghroe was the premier product. To be quite honest right now I wish I would have bought a cheaper faucet. At least if it failed I could say I got what I paid for. 1FLOW RESTRICTOR! FLOW RESTRICTOR! FLOW RESTRICTOR! THANK YOU Amazon Reviewer "Neitsche"!!!Your post saved me from the time, cost, inconvenience and trouble of having a brand new faucet removed and returned. We recently did a kitchen renovation which included installing the new Grohe Ladylux3 Cafe faucet. Once installed the faucet had almost no water pressure from the beginning. The contractor tried a few different procedures to improve the pressure, but nothing worked. He finally said the faucet was faulty and needed to be replaced. He even brought an old, but known good, faucet he had just replaced on another job to our apartment, connected it and showed me the water pressure was good with a different faucet. I was about to start making plans to replace the Grohe Ladylux3 faucet, but decided to take one last stab at finding a solution on the internet. That's when I happened upon Nietsche's instructions on replacing the flow restrictor. Turns out our faucet had the brown coupling 1.75 gpm flow restrictor. Once I ordered and received the yellow coupling (see Nietsche's instructions below) it couldn't have been easier to replace the original brown coupling. We now have perfect water pressure. Thanks again!I've copied Nietshce's post here for easy access:nietsche says:Took me a while to figure this out -- but have the solution. The "quick coupling" connector needs to be replaced. This connector is under the sink -- connecting the spray hose to the faucet water supply. If your connector ring color is black, gray, or brown then it is the connector which restricts water flow. The brown version is 1.75 GPM and black/gray is 1.5 GPM. The brown connector says "1.75 GPM" on the part -- zero ambiguity.Grohe moved the flow restrictor from the spray head to the "quick coupling" part in 2014. If you have a faucet made after 2014 then the fix for low water flow is to replace the "quick coupling" with a older version. The flow restrictor is *not* in the spray head or the cartridge for newer models. The "quick coupling" which has a yellow ring has unrestricted flow. These connectors are available on Amazon under part number 46138 000. Cost is $40.Grohe 46 138 000 Quick Coupling - YellowYou can also try to get one from Grohe -- your mileage may vary. 4great looking faucet but please read my comments Great faucet when you change coupling as shared by others to add Grohe 46 138 000, PLUS be sure to open the lever handle and tighten the two long screws (don't depend on factory to do this) since ours had this issue found. Knew it was issue after several tries to find out why faucet leaking at handle only at a certain position caused the underneath sink cabinet to be filled with water. This was all due to the factory NOT tightening these 2 long screws. Even our professional plumber installed it assuming the lever handle had been tightened by factory. There is a faucet filter in this lever handle which periodically must be changed, so good to know how to take this handle off and put back on. 4Grohe used to have a great German Made reputation but I am beginning to think ... Grohe used to have a great German Made reputation but I am beginning to think they may be cutting corners. I have ordered my 2 nd replacement due to a leak at the cold water connections up in the faucet. Grohe sent me a new valve to replace but said they would not cover the charges associated with the valve replacement. OK screw that now Grohe gets to provide my 2nd faucet replacement (3 total). I hope it works but I'll be done w/ Grohe after this process. 2Either a very expensive lemon or just poor quality manufacture - regret buying it We've had a horrible experience with this faucet. Either we got a lemon, or else the manufacturing quality has really dropped off at Grohe. Initially the handle cap came broken and we had to get a replacement. The replacement was clearly of a different design which leads me to believe that Grohe knows they have a bad part / design yet are still selling it that way to get rid of their existing inventory. If so, shame on them. Then two weeks after install it started leaking badly flooding our kitchen in the middle of the night. Another plumber bill later, we are told that the manufacturer did not properly install the cartridge and it worked itself loose. We are now hundreds of dollars lost in plumber costs and guess what, now the handle is making a horrible clicking sound every time we rotate the temperature. This has been a major and expensive hassle. Hopefully the floor / cabinetry hasn't been damaged as well. We had a LadyLux2 before for 15 years and loved it. We expected this to be a simple and easy replacement. Bummer for us. 1This is a keeper! After three faucets in 30 years (Delta x 2, Price Pfister) I finally broke down & bought a high quality faucet. So far I'm very impressed with the fit & finish and it works very well. At first I thought the flow was less than the most recent Delta it replaced; but it turns out it's just smoother & more controlled - I actually timed how long it took to fill a measured container & discovered it flows slightly better! The spray pattern is just right too & I like the spring-assisted hose return...no chance of this one flapping in the breeze! The only ding I'd give it is the assembly in Mexico - kind of expected German at this price. But nothing was missing & all pieces fit together well so I'll just have to get over that. 4Defective Cold Water Supply Line Attached to Faucet Caused Water Leak and Kitchen Floor Damage We had a professional plumber install this faucet to replace a previous Grohe faucet.. Unbeknownst to us there was a leak from a defective connector on the cold water supply line attached to the faucet. Long story short-we were away for several days and came back to a very wet kitchen throw rug, six feet of damaged laminate flooring near our kitchen sink and water leaking down through the hot and cold water lines under the sink into our basement. The plumber was summoned back and initially thought they failed to tighten the cold water line properly but they did it several times, with us watching and it still had a slow leak. Since we purchased the faucet, the loss is ours. The plumber installed a Moen faucet the same day and no issues. Our Shaw laminate flooring is 13 years old and they no longer make these planks so either we tear it out and try to color match it or replace the entire floor for about $3,000-$4,000. So much for German engineering... 1We bought 2 Grohe faucets on Jan. 17 2017 ... We bought 2 Grohe faucets on Jan. 17 2017.One leaked from inside the faucet right away. We contacted Grohe and they expressed a new cartridge for our plumber to install.Within the last month both the replacement cartridge and the cartridge of the faucet in our other sink began to leak from inside the faucet. This is a surprise for such an expensive faucet. We went to Lowes and bought Kohler faucets there to replace our leaky Grohe faucets. 1Do NOT buy this faucet. I love this faucet WHEN IT WORKS. It worked for 9 months and the I had to replace the filter. $300 later, I have a new filter but the plumber, who was recommended by Grohe did not properly install the cap and now they have to come back. Yes, Grohe guarantees their product but you have to call and be on hold for about 45 minutes and often the part is on back order so you have to wait for 1 month. I had to pay $50 for the piece on back order because I did not want to go 1 month without a kitchen faucet. I don't know if it's al Grohe products but it is far too complicated for a Grohe recommended plumber to repair.10 months later . . . it is leaking AGAIN. 5 plumber visits and I'm just going to consider this a 1K loss and buy a completely new faucet.Amazon customer service is amazing, though! 1
