Customer Reviews

Wow, excellent OK, so I am a novice when it comes to remodeling but I love to try anything. I recently purchased a couple rentals and needed to re do the ceilings. After watching some YouTube videos I decided to purchase this online to help with my task. To some up this review, I can't wait to use it again! I textured 3 large rooms and a hallway in about an hour and not including the prep time. Getting the correct consistency of mud for the ceiling is the key. Advice I had was to thin it down to the consistency of pancake batter. This worked perfect. The first two rooms and ceiling went absolutely great. I added a little more water to see if it would help spread the mud on the ceiling but in turn made it two thin and had a little more difficulty with the roller wanting to skim accros the ceiling instead of roll. Still, ended up looking great! Nothing better then trying something for the first time and not only does it take half as long as expected but the results are even better than anticipated! Thanks for a great product. 5Amazing tool!! We just bought an old house that needed texture added to the ceiling so my husband, with much hesitation, ordered this tool. He has never done any kind of remodeling, so he was very worried that this may not work or it would look horrific an boy was he wrong!! The Crow's Foot roller was very easy to use and our ceiling's look like a professional did them!! 5Not for novices I feel like I shouldn't be allowed to review this roller cover. It is exactly as advertised, and I've watched umpteen videos and tutorials of people doing beautiful things with this EXACT roller cover and another with a similar pattern I also bought..... but not me. If you get the technique down, and mix your texture of choice perfectly, get the right amount up, wait the right amount of time for the correct firmness.... etc etc, YOUR TEXTURE WILL LOOK AMAZING! I know it can be done, but not by me. I did clean it and save it and plan to try again when I texture and paint my master bathroom - that way I will have a much smaller area and if it doesn't turn out great, no one will be seeing it except my husband and kids.tl;dr - This roller is perfect - if your project isn't coming out well it's not the roller - it's you. Sorry. It's okay, don't feel too bad. 5this is one of my favorite designs. After use care it's important to rinse ... I'm a professional drywaller, this is one of my favorite designs. After use care it's important to rinse it off and put it back in the bag it came in. Be careful not to place the roller where it will get smashed. It will not roll properly. Any other questions feel free to ask. 5Recommend to match stippled ceiling texture Matches stippled ceilings. It is hard to get the mud compound to the right consistency for use with this roller though. Too thick and it clogs the recesses in the roller. Too thin and you don't get the stippled effect you're after. All in all though, it worked better than the stipple brush I had tried to use. I recommend that you practice first to get the right consistency. 4This made fixing our ceiling so easy! I rolled on a thin coat of joint compound and immediately followed behind with this brush. It was so easy. So easy, in fact, that I am using the same roller and process in my new house in our new bathroom. 5Do Not Twist This foam texture roller worked great. But here's the rub: 1) You have to clean out grooves halfway through an average room; 2) any time you clean it, DO NOT TWIST the roller to squeeze out the leftover compound. Squeeze ONLY. I twisted it, it broke and went to the trash. Don't be like me. 4Worked out pretty good. The surface I used it on was ... Worked out pretty good. The surface I used it on was in bad shape, made it look very nice. When using this tool make sure your mud mixture is not too thick, it will make a prettier pattern. Alway do a small section at a time and work your way out. 4Perfect design This works very well and does an excellent job making the right pattern. I had to replace some drywall on the ceiling, then mud and paint. This roller would have saved me a couple of hundred dollars. However, I didn t find out about it until I paid two other people to try. They failed miserably and I paid the price. 5It does work, but be patient. This works well so long as you get the mud consistency correct. Once the mud starts to dry and thicken, stop! Clean the roller with warm water immediately and mix a new batch of mud. If you let the mud dry to much and thicken you will no longer get the pattern, but will instead end up dragging the roller across the ceiling. Also, if you allow the mud to dry on the roller it will destroy it.I had good results, but understand that patience is key. If you aren't patient don't even attempt this. I was able to completer a 20x12 room in a couple of hours with two batches of mud and one roller cleaning in between batches. 4
