Customer Reviews

Have minimal purpose These headphones have okay quality. They aren't very sturdy. This is like the third pair I have had to buy, and if these break, I will probably not buy these again. I only use these for practicing on my piano keyboard. If you don't use these for a computer or an instrument, I do not suggest purchasing them. If you want great high quality headphones for other purposes such as listening to music, then I highly recommend the Beats Studio 2.0 Wireless headphones. 3These headphones are great. I had a set for probably 5 years ... These headphones are great. I had a set for probably 5 years and they just finally broke from shorting out a couple weeks ago. The new ones showed up two days later, and did not disappoint. Great quality for the price of them. 5EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD FOR THE PRICE! I HAVE A PREVIOUS PAIR THAT I WORE OUT THE EAR PADS AND WAS PLEASED TO FIND THE SAME HEADPHONES TO REPLACE THEM WITH. VERY NICE SOUND. 5Good sound but cheaply made They do have good sound quality and are comfortable to wear, but they feel rather cheap and brittle and very quickly one channel stopped working. 3Great sound cancellation and comfort I've used this model for years. Great sound cancellation and comfort. When my old ones broke due to my wife pulling them away from my head I ordered new ones. After several years' use, my old ones began to "flake" heavily by which I mean that the plastic covering the foam around the ear pieces and headband degraded and came off of the headphones entirely. It was a small annoyance compared to the years of great use I got from them. (Weirdo that I am, I kept the magnet inside of one of the earpieces of my old set for use as a fridge magnet.) 5Spend more for a great listening experience. Buy if $ is limited. Not uncomfortable but not as comfortable as my Bose. These Koss UR29 don t seal around my ears as well either. The sound isn t hi fidelity but works great for my purposes, listening to interviews. Sound is clear and good quality not spectacular. They are a good deal for the money. I would buy again for my purpose. I would not buy to enjoy music. I m spoiled by my Sennheisser and Bose over-ear sets. Ultimately it s a financial decision. If this set is your price range, go for it. 4I like it, but instructions mis-leading !!! I like the headphones and I bought them because of the Koss reputation, however the instructions were misleading so I called Koss and ended up sending them an email with a copy of the instructions. The instructions mention to fold the headphones in the direction of the arrows on the headphones. Guess what, no arrows on the headphones. Small problem and most people could probably figure out how to fold the headphones, but the instructions should be correct. These headphones were made in China (surprise, surprise) so I guess there was some discrepancy between the manufacturing process and the instruction writing process. 4koss ur29 headphones are sturdy plastic, sure you can break them but there ... koss ur29 headphones are sturdy plastic, sure you can break them but there headphones, not concrete. treat them right and they'll last awhile. they are comfortable and the sound is good, better than a $25 set of headphone should sound, they are very easy to put on and listen to for a few hours, the cord has a volume control at a good length on the cord, about chest level and the cord is about 2 times the thickness of a average headphone cable. it does not come out of the earcup.some specs as follows:18-20,000hz100 ohms103 db spl8 foot cable3.5 mm connectionat the amazon price you will come out a winner as they should cost around $55 5Love them, but mods are nessicary for longtime durability Like others have said, these do have pros and cons, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons.I have owned four pairs of these over the last eight years or so. It is actually five, as the first set was RadioShack brand but was still Koss built. Keep in mind, I write this review as a "stationary" user of these, meaning they never leave the desktop computer and are never folded up or transported.Anyways, the cons. Like everyone else, the rotating collapsible feature is mediocre, and three of mine all broke that way. The other two failed from the other reason, broken cords at the volume adjustment. The secret to making these last is simple, this pair I have now (number five) has lasted two and a half years, longer than any other because I took a hot glue gun to these brand new outta the box, and applied heavy beads of the glue to the folding and rotating components. Granted, this prevents them from folding ever again, but if you use these like I do just at home, this will strengthen them tremendously and they won't break again. As for the volume adjuster and cord, I used a product called Shoe Goo and applied a heavy application at the strain relief on each end, about an inch away from it down the cord and this stops the looseness in the wiring. I tried this on this set and has proven to work well. I did just order two more of these units as the one I am using now (no. 5) is now broken, but they fell off the desk and got under foot, breaking the left earphone off. They still work, but are taped for temporary use. Prior to this, they were still very secure and I'm sure would have lasted a couple more years without issue. As for the sound quality, I'm not a sound engineer or anything, but I do like to hear my music very clear and loud, and these have always delivered that without any complaint. I still recommend these to anyone and I love them myself, but as before, if you plan to use them without gluing them or using as portable, don't expect them to last longer than 6-8 months, the plastic is just too brittle. 5Koss makes pretty good cheap phones Koss makes pretty good cheap phones. These were for my wife, and she seems to be pleased with them. I have a 10 year old set of Bose noise cancelling ones that take a AAA battery, which is a huge pain in the ass. My next set will definitely NOT use batteries. 4
