USB is my life saver USB is my life saver. Even now, cloud is so popular but I do prefer USB since you can use it w/o internet. I always have several USB in my bag. When I saw this listing, I was surprised with the price, 5 USB 23 GB for just $25. It's freaking cheap comparing to others I bought. I did question about the quality and think of the possibility that they won't have full memory of 32 GB. However, I still bought it since I could return if they failed their advertise. When I got the package, I was really happy since all of them work perfectly. They all have capacity of 32 GB and the 3.0 connect port makes transferring document way faster. I can say this one is a good USB to use.5Bait and Switch These are sold as 16 GB. They are not. They are 4 GB formatted as 16 GB. When you put in the computer they report aas 16 GB because the FAT is doctored. If try to save more than 4 GB you will get an error that the disk is full. This is a common fraud being run on USB flash drives on Amazon right now. 1They are exactly what they are supposed to be; ... They are exactly what they are supposed to be; 16 gig flashdrives. Nothing fancy just storage for Go-Pro video for friends. 5Not good for videos - all else, OK I bought these items to transfer home videos and they did not work for me. They took a very long time to transfer and then when it finally does transfer the video skips and does not play smoothly.However, I did transfer documents/files and it does transfer those with no issues. The transfer process was quick and opening the files was no issue.Keep in mind that one died on me and now is not recognizable when I connect it to the computer.In conclusion, if you just need this for files/docs (did not test pictures) let's say for school or work, you'll be fine. I spent nearly 1.5 hours looking over the various 10-packs of USB Sticks. I have 4GB of photos that I'd like to give to the rest of the team. If you have used various USB Sticks, you may have noticed there can be a HUGE difference in speed between various models. I was looking at some 10-packs for around $35. Problem is, I have to use them - yet I am giving away for free. I don't want to spend more than I have to - nor do I want to wait 5 hours to copy photos (30min per stick). Many of the sticks here have speeds around 1-4 MB/s write.. that's very slow. I found these for $51 here at Amazon. They reviewed fairly well. Some reviewers posted promising benchmarks. Instead of the dirt cheap $35 8GB sticks, I purchased these 16GB ones for a bit more - though still in the cheap category.I am VERY pleased with these Kootion USB 3.0 sticks. I benchmarked at 20MB/s write and 100 MB/s read. These are not the fastest USB sticks - the last ones I purchased were 90 MB/s write and 170 MB/s read, but at just over $5 each?! Come on! Very pleased. I average about 3 minutes to copy 4GB (395 photos and some small video).Form factor is OK, pretty standard size. They have a rotating cover and grippy edges that make them easy to insert and remove.Bottom line: I rate these as an excellent value. 5I feel old...Boy do these things make me feel old. At my first job as a computer programmer in the mid-1980, we had a whole computer room with 17 big disk drives. Each drive was about 3 ft by 3 ft by 4 ft high and could hold a whopping 1 GB EACH - wow. Each drive also cost a fortune and had to have a large air conditioner to keep the room cool.Today, for $25 I can buy almost 10 times the amount of storage that used to cost a million.5Four out of five drives failed in under 24 hours I bought a five pack of these USB drives because I understand that USB flash drives just aren't very reliable by nature. But unfortunately four of these drives failed within 24 hours of use. One failed my initial read/write tests right out of the box. And three more passed initial tests but failed once they'd been reformatted and had files copied onto them. The fifth is going strong and has survived multiple reformats and uses. So, I suppose that means this review must be one star out of five. 1As advertisedBought the KOOTION 5 X 64GB USB Flash Drives. Opening up the overly-large padded envelope in my mailbox (did it really go from MN to CT and back to MN as the tracking page indicates?) revealed a small cardboard box containing my five flash drives. With many vendors offering similar-looking products, and based on previous experience, the first thing I did was verify the capacity of each drive. 64GB, as advertised. Drives came formatted as exFAT with identical UUIDs. Installed Fedora Linux to one of the drives. Installation was slow (these are USB 2.0 devices, so that was expected) but uneventful. Rebooted my computer off the newly-created Fedora flash drive, and up came Fedora. In other words, it just worked.Edit: Just wanted to comment that although the installation works, it is SLOW. I have a 64 GB USB3 flash drive with Ubuntu installed on my Celeron N2840-based laptop, which is slow (but nearly as fast as the internal eMMC), rather than SLOW. So, good for backing up an OS but not for running one.5Perfectly sized drives with helpful colorsThese drives were the perfect size for downloading some documents that I needed to share with others. The colors were helpful, too: I assigned colors to the people with whom I was sharing the various docs and could easily keep track of which docs I was loading and for whom. Very nice. One had a read error on the first test but tested good the second time.As with almost all usb drives, 32gb is actuallly 29999mb or 29.2gb.5Buy cheap, get cheap In about a year and a half, I am down to 1 of the 5 still in use. The very first one essentially burned up. It became too hot to handle forcing a full shut down of a laptop. Once both pc & thumb drive we cool, I pulled and destroyed that key. One-by-one 3 of the remaining ones failed. I do not have hope for the final thumb drive. There are others higher priced thumb drives in use for years without any hint of failure. Backing up info is my primary use for flash drives so ones that fail are basically useless. Cannot recommend Kootion. 2Slow, slow, full of read/write failuresBe careful, these are not stable and it took nearly 8 hours to wipe them before I could return them. Consider that; if you buy a cheap flash drive and it eats your file, you're sending that data to the vendor to return the product. These are AWFUL. SLOW. The Kingston was running 15 min to transfer 15.94G on this Mac. These 32G krap kootion drives transfer data at 4 Meg per second. It has taken over 4 hours to transfer 9.5G out of 19G. Clearly you get what you pay for. Have to look for something else because at this rate it will take 5 days to make 5 copies of my pics.
