Doesn t Fix Solidly to Wall This towel bar looks nice. The problem is that it doesn t fix solidly to the wall. So, it slides around every time you grab the towel, leaving marks on the wall. I can t figure out any way to secure it more tightly so it doesn t move. Unfortunately, I m going to have to replace it. 1One Tough Shower Caddy Clean, simple design. Tough, tough glass. Accidentally dropped my 16 ounce hammer above waist level directly on the glass and the product was still intact; no visible scratches or marks on the glass. The only thing damaged was the slightly dented stainless steel railing from the impact of the hammer handle.The two shelving units I ordered also managed to survive a minor 3.7 earthquake without shifting or dropping any of the potted plants on the shelving units. Good purchase. 5Great looks, strong and solid! Love this. Works just perfect for the Sonos speaker we had and plenty strong to hold it and glass is perfect and tempured. No instructions but really self-explanatory. Looks even better in person than we thought it would. 5Over a year: NO RUST ONE YEAR LATER REVIEW:Bought in June 2017.Unlike many products that claim to be rust proof stainless steel, this product has not shown ANY signs of rust.The glass has held up well, even with a fairly heavy potted orchid on top. Sadly, the orchid has not faired as well.Sometimes KES products can be more expensive than similar options, but it's worth avoiding the annoyance of rust. 5Perfect be sure to install it properly In my opinion the most commonly sold towel rings are one of the most poorly designed products ever, and yet they haven t changed since my grandmother s day. It seems everyone has one, either near their kitchen sink or for a hand towel in the bathroom. The vast majority of them are a thin ring of metal mounted on a swivel bracket that attaches to the wall. The idea is that they are meant to hold one small to medium sized towel using a minimum of wall space. But I have not found one yet that doesn t squeak, and make a clanging or crashing sound when you remove the towel and the ring hits the wall.Worse, when you put a wet towel in them and aren t all towels wet after you use them the towel lays right against your wall where it is unable to dry and the lack of circulation is a hotbed for mold growth.This design has all of the benefits of a typical towel ring in that it uses only a very small amount of wall space, it is easy to loop a small to medium sized towel in and out of it, and it allows you to wipe your hands without removing the towel from the ring. But what makes it special is that the ring doesn t swing, in fact it doesn t move at all. Instead it is mounted a couple of inches away from the wall, making it even easier to use one handed and especially important, where air can circulate and eliminate the possibility of mold growth.It s true that this product costs more than what you might find at the dollar store but I believe it is worth it. It is made of a heavy grade of metal and available in either bright shiny chrome, brushed stainless steel or a matte black finish. I first bought the chrome one but I thought it drew too much attention in the kitchen so I moved it to my bath where I have a lot of bright contemporary chrome. I liked the design so much I bought another, this time in bushed stainless, to put in the kitchen where it is the perfect complement to my appliances.Be aware that the product page describes the brushed stainless model as being brown. That is an odd choice of wording for them to use but I can assure you that it definitely is not brown. When I was choosing one for the kitchen I would have just as easily chosen the black, which would also go well with most kitchen designs.The mounting bracket is held in place with two fasteners which are included. They also include anchor for drywall and a small Allen wrench to attach the parts together. It holds very securely with no wiggle or tilting for one side to another. A few have commented that their bracket moves around. That would not be possible if it was properly installed. Be sure that you attach it either to a wall stud or that you use proper mounting anchors. Also be sure that the bracket is mounted vertically so the flanges are at the top and the bottom where the setscrew can tighten properly if the flanges are at either side you will not be able to fasten it securely and it will slide around. In other words, read the instructions. 5Pretty looking shelf Pretty looking shelf! Good quality. Easy to mount. Better than the ones I've seen at the Big Orange Hardware Store. And this one is made of stainless steel and tempered glass. I bought 2 different stainless steel shelves by KES. I'm happy with the both of them. 5Keeps snagging and causing tissue paper to tear The edges of this toilet paper holder keeps snagging causing the toilet paper to tear prematurely. The "rounded" version works much better. I need to find something to cover the sharp edges so the toilet paper can easily roll w/o snagging on the edges. It's either that or it's "too close to the wall" Causing the paper to rub against the wall and tearing. 3Why didn't I use this before? Perfect fit, easy installation, and looks ultra modern. No longer have to bother with the spring rod that held the toilet paper roll. The roll slides right on and off. And the single post fits on a stud instead of having to rely on two posts with one being supported by drywall alone. This works so well, I won't buy anything else.From the picture, the spackled hole shows where the previous two-post holder failed. 5Well made, great quality, better than expected. I was going to have my contractor build an inset into my new tile shower, but decided to go with this shelf instead. SO glad I did. Looks great...more modern than a built-in for shampoos and stuff. The glass is THICK. Great quality. Very happy. 5Pretty easy install I love the look of this. Matches the modern look I have going in my bathroom. As others have mentioned, its not level. The back is slightly tilted from the front. I just eyeballed it. I really wasn t overly concerned. It s not noticeable unless you re trying to notice it. It installed pretty easy. The last part of tightening the screw to hold the ring to the base was a bit tedious, being smashed up against the wall, but was worth it for the look! 5
