    Great replacement for the Baofeng UV-5R stock spkr/mic. Better, longer chord--better quality and better audio reports back.Replaced my Baofeng stock spkr/mic. This SMC-34 fits the UV-5R radio just fine and gets better audio reports than the stock one did. The stock spkr/mic works but it gets reviews that you sound muffled. This fixes that problem and also has a few extra buttons on it that I have not figured out how to use. I don't need the buttons so I'm just using it as a speaker mic, works great. The quality is better too. My baofeng spkr/mic rattled after about a month or two of banging around in the car. It still works even 5 or more years of use, but it felt cheaply built in your hand and also got muffled audio reports. The SMC-34 is a lot better quality and sound. The cord on this one is a little softer and a little longer, so it reaches from your waist to your collar to clip better. The clip on this one is better too. 5Picture doesn't show but this mic has three buttons for your TH-F6a radio... amazing mic.Much nicer than the baofeng mic, it cuts the lag down to zero when pressing the PTT. Love the buttons on top, I use one for switching between A and B and the other two for changing channels up/down. Really worth it. Highly recommended for any TH-F6a or Kenwood handheld radio. Buttons won't work with Baofeng radios, BTW.G. 5Nice speaker micI purchased this to use with my TYT MD380 handheld radio based on the recommendation of another ham radio operator. It works great with that radio and the volume knob on the mic is handy. 5Updated reviewOk. First review I wrote said it worked for two hours. Not the case. 7 months later this thing is still working like a charm. Very happy with this purchase. The mic is smaller than most mics offered for radios so it is ideal for a lower profile look. The clip works well. Keep in mind however this mic is grey, not black. So if you dress in all black it will stand out more than most other mics. All-in-all. Very happy with this purchase. 4Small and loud! Convenient to have the PF keys and adjustable volume.Quality speaker mic. Nice to have easily accessible volume control. The PF buttons are super handy. The speaker is loud!The clip is strong, and has grooves on the jaws, to prevent it from slipping too much.One thing to note, I ordered this with my new Kenwood TH-D72A, and the radio needed to have a factory reset performed before it would recognize the PF keys. I have heard that this is best practice with new radios anyway. 5Great external microphoneI am delighted with this external microphone by Kenwood (my preferred brand), providing good sound quality. The volume control is a welcome addition. My current radio does not support the mode change buttons on the top, but my next HT (a Kenwood) will. It also contains a jack for an earpiece, helpful to maintain privacy or for working in a quiet environment.GigaParts provided prompt service and a good price; very satisfied customer (I have already ordered additional products from them). 5Works better than OEM Baofeng which this replacedUsed on Baofeng UV-82 HT. Works better than OEM Baofeng which this replaced. Good upgrade. Kenwood plug pattern allowed this upgrade. Function buttons don't work, but I didn't expect them to. Speaker volume does, and the unit overall is much better. 4Works for baofangCheaper plastic and buttons aren t that great. Works with my baofang no problem and let s me control the volume so at least it did what I wanted. 4Works great and build quality is excellent!I am using this for a MD-380 DMR radio. Works great the buttons on the top don't do anything on this particular radio but the volume control works great. Set the radio at 75% and then use the volume control on the mic for that perfect listening volume.UPDATE: So after using this mic on a Baofeng UV5R I have multiple people tell me I sound as good as my ID-880H with a new Heil HM-12. Makes me wonder what kind of deal with the Devil that Kenwood made to make such an excellent mic!
