Customer Reviews

Happy with results Replaced Centrino N-2235 which was horrible with this new N-6235. The wi-fi on the N-2235 range was weak two rooms over from the router. The new N-6235 works great on the 5 Ghz band. It also works well on the 2.4 ghz band. Laptop I replaced the card on is a Ultrabook Toshiba Portege Z935 running Window10. To get to the card underneath the ribbon cable you have to remove two additional screws holding a small circuit card that one end of the ribbon cable is attached to. 5Bluetooth only worked for me with a hack: tape over pin no 51! I wanted to add bluetooth to my Acer E1-571 (Win10). I installed the chip, and wifi worked very well; but no bluetooth. It did not even show up in the device manager. I started the return process. Then, googling about online, I found some threads about this problem, and that covering pin no 51 (the last one on the right, if the pins are facing you) fixes the problem and allows Windows to see the bluetooth. It seems crazy: I had to remove the chip, put cellophane tape over the last pin (hint: use a big piece, and then cut away the excess). But it worked, now the bluetooth connects to a bluetooth speaker.Hope this may help those of you who have the same problem. 4First 5 Star? Ok after doing research.... Alot of testing went into it and troubleshooting went into it... This chip's wifi undoubtably works flawless, beautiful..ect... Bluetooth does work as well... Alot of people using this probably don't realize though, being a doubled up adaptor, it probably won't work in your laptop. Some laptop PCIe cards have a USB built in... kinda hard to explain, and thus most will have a switch of some kind... such as a physical switch or combination of keys on the kb. If your PCIe slot does not support this feature the BLuetooth will not work for you. In some cases there is also an option in the bios to activate this as well. I am using an Intel DH77DF mini itx board. This board does support this feature. When I disable the device via Device manager, I hear the duh dah noise as if a USB device was removed, and when I enable, same deal... I only have 1 issue w/ it...The bluetooth works great, all my devices pair up and work. The only thing that I couldn't get to work is... I have the Galaxy Note II, I want to use my computer's mic and speakers as a bluetooth device. I see that Hands Free device install when its paired up but I can't seem to activate it. I can do music... download PIM data and transfer files... I noticed that there really isn't any software for it as well (to control music or act as a bluetooth headset) not even the generic Microsoft driver does it. I am still looking into it I am sure at this point that the driver package software doesn't work with windows 7 as I read in a thread somewhere that another person had the same issue and they used an XP shell in windows 7 so it works in Windows XP. I wonder also if I am doing something wrong... I installed a cheap Broadcomm device in the mean time... 5Great idea. Wish it worked. So much for compatibility. After replacing card, boot hung PC. Destroyed HD boot sector.Removed card. Rebuilt boot sector. Tried again. Same results. Problem is probablyOLD PC BIOS and NEW, much improved card. Was a GREAT idea.Wish it worked. My WiFi is atrocious and Cheeeep Acer PC never had BT.Will try another card and keep fingers crossed. 3Excellent 5G connections now Bought this to upgrade a Dell Inspiron 15z 5523 that had a pathetically slow internet connection since the day we bought it 7 or 8 years ago, after installing an SSD hard drive and this wifi card it's like a new laptop. 5The Wifi and Bluetooth both work as advertised I got this for my Intel NUC that I built. The Bluetooth got detected on windows 7 but the WiFi needed a driver download. Once you have them, this product works like a charm. I gave it 5 stars because I've tried other Bluetooth dongles to no avail. I had used an ASUS USB Bluetooth which wouldn't find my Bluetooth remote, then I tried a Belkin which worked fine until I rebooted. This one keep the connection stable. I'm glad I went with this. Go for it. Hope this helps someone make their decision. 5Like many people when I installed the chip I too ... Massively improved my Wifi speed. 24 mbps to 68 mbps off of a new Google Wifi system which is feed 100 mbps. Like many people when I installed the chip I too did not get Bluetooth. After researching the Internet and trying things I went to my devices and deleted them on my Windows 10 and reconnected them with a system search. Wow, I got the Bluetooth and the strength is good for most the house for my Bluetooth headset. So far a happy camper. Watching the YouTube videos how to install is a must. When the chip arrived I had it hooked up in 5 minute since the new drivers from the Intel Website had already been loaded on my computer. Still need to play with it some to see if I can increase the speed some more but nice having dual band now. Such a cheap upgrade but an amazing addition! After doing a check in the room with the main router I was able to get 108 mbps! Double wow! 5Good price, easy to install, perfect upgrade for old PC I've had my HP Pavilion HPE for over 5 years and never had an issue until my WiFi suddenly died last week (it was completely gone from control panel, network settings, etc). I went through all the troubleshooting steps and nothing worked, which led to the only solution--I had a bad WiFi card. Fortunately, a better WiFi card was still being sold on Amazon. Installing the new card was easy (once I got over the difficult part of removing the internal bracket and other components blocking access to the old WiFi card). Once I plugged the PC back it and turned it on I immediately saw that the new card was working. So if you're in the same situation I was, this Intel WiFi card is the perfect solution and a good price and improvement of what you had before. 5Great upgrade, taught an old laptop some new tricks I Swapped this for the original WiFi card in a 8 year old laptop and couldn't be happier. Not only did I get much better performance on the 2.4GHz freq, I now can utilize the 5GHz band AND have Bluetooth. Installition was a snap with everything working perfectly on first boot. All this for a very modest price. 5It's great...if you don't care about ping On Windows, every 30-90 seconds there's a ~200ms ping spike for about 3 seconds. This wrecks a lot of online games. A few other Intel chips like the 7260 have this same issue, which is triggered by the normal roaming scanning. This is very well documented across various threads with dozens of replies on the Intel forums and the Battle.net forums. The only workaround is to disable roaming via a registry hack (set the "ScanWhenAssociated" key to 0), which is terrible because it prevents Windows from ever updating its network list or recognizing that a stronger signal is available.Bandwidth and range seems fine. Windows also already had drivers for it. But the ping spike is a major issue that Intel has ignored and probably will never fix, given that it's been known for like 6 years now and hasn't been addressed by any driver updates.Search for the following forum posts to see proof: "AC 7260 frequent ping spikes" and "Intel Centrino Advanced-N Adapters and Latency Spikes" 1
