    Read directions!! On this thermostat it has internal settings that have to be set correctly for your set-up! The directions go threw these setting with you. Take your time with these settings, if you do not understand and/or know what your equipment calls for call the hotline number. On my set up on my motor coach I set it to turn furnace on without the fan. Fan is set up only to come on when ceiling a/c units turn on. It is settings like this that are crucial in the set-up. 4Screen very small The screen is much smaller than the picture shows. The description is right that the screen is 1.5"X1.5", but that is not what the picture shows. See the comparison between pictured and reality 4Perfect for anyone requiring a simple but very effective thermostat. Perfect for my 80 year old mother. When she had her furnace replaced they put on a programmable thermostat. Her original was the old round mercury stat. Well, Too many phone calls " How do you turn the air on" "how do you make it colder" " I can't figure this thing out"Problem solved.10 minutes to remove the programmable, and install this. Super simple replacement.With the few controls, it's PERFECT !!If anyone needs your basic but digital thermostat this is the one!I was surprised that when the temp. was reached, and the outside unit turned off, the fan stayed on for a few minutes to get the most out of the cooling coils while they were still cold!! This is a problem with Amazon and not with the thermostat itself. Just be sure to order the correct model and ignore the picture. 3This unit worked properly for almost exactly 60 days. ... This unit worked properly for almost exactly 60 days. After that, the heater would not kick on no matter how cold the temperature got in the house unless I removed the unit from the wall and reinserted it to it's mounting bracket. Then it would work until the thermostat shut off after reaching the desired temperature. The "Heat On" indicator would light up, but it would not ignite the furnace unless I went through the whole process again that I previously mentioned. I tried changing the batteries but to no avail. I don't know if I just received a lemon or if the entire line of these thermostats are just junk. 1I installed it to replace my old dial thermostat that's ... I installed it to replace my old dial thermostat that's been in the home I recently purchased in August for probably longer than anyone knows. I noticed my air temp was off and energy bill was wonky, so I decided to replace the thermostat. I installed it within minutes with complete ease. After a system test to make sure everything was connected, the unit functioned exactly as it was meant to. I feel a huge difference in the air conditioning and this was a simple and quality replacement fix. 4Probably the best thermostat I have ever owned. After having several different 7-day programmable thermostats over the years and in several different climes, I concluded that in for my current home I needed a good, simple, accurate thermostat. The FocusPro 5000 is a good, simple, accurate thermostat. It is compact and neat: 'right-sized', as they say. The four controls are soft and simple: up, down, fan, and system. The display is large, clear, and bright. It backlights when you press any button and goes dark when you are done. It seems to control our temperatures more to our liking than previous thermostats. It takes two AAA batteries and can run off of your blue wire to save those batteries. It has a 'Replace Batteries' indicator that says 'Replace batteries' right there on the display. It has a built-in compressor protection to prevent your compressor from restarting too soon (and damaging it) after a blackout.I like this thermostat .. a lot. A little pricey but, so far, well worth it.One point of note: The FocusPro 5000 comes set up for an air conditioner with gas heat as the factory default. I have A/C with electric heater strips, typical of South Florida. You need to enter the Installer Setup function through the Fan and Up buttons to change the system to A/C with electric heat in Steps 3 through 7 (option 9 = electric heat). I installed this thermostat in spring and the A/C ran just fine throughout the summer. Come autumn and cooler temperatures and the heat turned on but the fan did not until I set the Fan setting from Auto to On to blow constantly. A little research and I fixed the problem; both heat and A/C work as they should, automatically. 5WORKS! The thing works fine and comes with a battery. For the last three days, I've been left out in the cold and only one room in our house had a heater of its own. So my parents said I could sleep in their room, specifically, on the floor and I did because it was just so cold. I got to sleep but then woken up by the noise on my dad's phone. He was watching videos on his phone and it was just so damn noisy. I got pissed off so I went back to my room and I was stuck in there with a small plug in heater and 3 blankets. At the fourth day, the package already came and my dad fixed it up. They deserve 5 stars for saving me this winter season. 5Good simple thermostat with a backlight. Have used this for 6 months or so and feel comfortable recommending it. some complain about a click when it trips the heat on and it does. If you have a boiler this may bother you as the heat cycle is otherwise silent. but with a forced air system you wont be as sensitive to this because the burners are probably louder when they kick on and then the fan kicks on, If you live/sleep with all this you wont be bothered by a click. Wiring is easy if you've done it before, otherwise watch some You Tube vids. I'm retired now so no need for a setback thermostat any more. source: (retired HVAC Professional) 5LCD Screen size Shown Misleading I ordered this FocusPro 5000 (TH5110D1006) for my home so that it would be easy to read and set/use by the wife and kids.What I liked most about it was the simplicity AND the screen size and brightness that is shown here on the product description page.I haven't installed the thermostat yet but I was immediately disappointed when I opened the box to see that the screen is very small, and not nearly as large as what the product image shown on the listing leads you to believe. In fact, I kept checking to see if they sent the right model.I will install it and use it anyway but I'm pissed at the misleading image of the product Expected a much larger and brighter screen.The ACTUAL SCREEN SIZE is approx. 1.5" x 1.2" and not very bright.I will update this review if there is anything else worthwhile adding after it's installed.I'm adding a photo of the thermostat as I have received.Update: Installed the batteries to see if the unit worked before I connect it to my heating system and it shows a room temperature of 45deg (Fahrenheit) when I know it is at least 72 deg in the room. I called Honeywell support and they instructed me to return it as it must be defective. Customer support seems to be ok. 3
