    Great, but do not update firmwareGreat, but do not update firmware. Everything was working fine until Google did not allow any emails to be sent. The only way to get the notifications was to upgrade the firmware. Only I saw too late that firmware shouldn't be upgraded. Right now it's bricked. 1Five StarsVery nice IP security camera. However, using it requires that you set a password for it. If you forget that password (or you purchase a previously-sold camera--a warehouse deal, for example--that has already had its password set) or it becomes invalid because of a problem with your installation (which can EASILY happen) you must request a password reset file from the manufacturer (HiKVision) to fix it. I requested a password reset for the camera I purchased from Amazon, and HiKVision refused to give me one (they replied with a sternly-worded warning about authorized dealers, specifically listing Amazon as not). HiKVision tracks sales by serial number, so there is no way around this--you can't say you purchased the camera from someone else. There used to be a way to reset the password with an online utility, but in early 2017 HiKVision modified the camera firmware to block this.So, very nice cameras, but you must purchase carefully (check out 'b and h p-v' for more info). Otherwise, you will be SOL when something goes wrong. 2Five StarsNice Hi-res and inexpensive. 5The picture quality is great and I like the turret style cameras better than ...These are not for people without networking experience. But if you understand networking and IP addresses you can make it work. It is necessary to use the software tool provided by the manufacturer to get the IP address to match up with your own network initially.
