    Have to admit that I hate that we need them Had to get this after our son attempted suicide. Have to admit that I hate that we need them, but glad to have found them through Amazon. They work well and seem to be very well made. The reality is, however, if someone is truly looking for drugs, they could find ways to get into these. The only thing that would be better would probably be an actual safe. 4Poor Quality, Needs better foam protection , Needs better cable. Inferior quality. Only one side has foam, not both top and bottom like every other personal safe on the market, This is just one aspect where they cut corners. Another aspect where they cut corners is the tether cable. The metal piece attached that goes on the inside of the safe is as cheap as it could possibly be. There are so many quality personal safes for sale on Amazon; this isn't one of them. 2Small But Fits A lot This is excellent for securing typical OTC bottles and prescription meds. This size is compact so you cannot fit large, oversized bottles (taller than 5 inches) I was able to fit normal Rx vials, 100- 250 count OTC pain med bottles i.e. Tylenol, Excedrin, Ibuprofen and small allergy bottles for a total of 16 bottles. There is also room to put blister packs on top of the bottles i.e., Benadryl, Tylenol cold, etc. This cabinet does not fit in my medicine cabinet because it is too deep but it fits perfectly in my nightstand drawer. It was just what we needed. The only things that don't fit are my large vitamin bottles.Things to note:It comes with 2 keysYou can mount it to a wall or inside of a cabinetIt opens two ways depending on how you position it, from top or bottomIt's just under 5 inches high so be sure to measure your large OTC bottles before you buy it. 5Great for short term usage, not for long term usage. This product worked well to begin with. After about 3 months of use the lock started to "jam" and would take some finesse to get it to unlock. We attributed this to the possibility that a medication bottle had shifted and might of been blocking the latch. We have now had this for 7 and a half months, and the lock has self destructed. I mean, to the point of the tumbler falling out out and all of the tiny pins and springs from within it going all over the place. So, if you are looking for a short term usage out of this product, it is a 5 star product. If you have a disabled family member who needs this for daily use for the long term, sadly this is not the item for you. 2Won t keep your meds safe. I purchased this box to protect medications in my household. Within 3-4 months the lock became loose, and every time I move it from the cabinet to countertop, the movement is enough for the lock to pop open. I am forced to put it into the cabinet and then lock it to make sure it is secure, but the slight vibration of putting it onto the countertop again is enough to open it.It may be fine in a house where children see a locked box as a deterrent and don t try to move it, or if it is stored on a shelf secured by the enclosed tether. But if you are looking for a box to protect from older teens, children on a class or scout trip, or family members with addictions, this box may as well be left unlocked.Lock issues aside, the box is spacious enough to hold all meds (I folded cardboard to make a shelf to double the amount it held). If I didn t have the lock issues it would be a 5-star review, but right now I might as well keep the medications out and just hope they don t get touched. 1Perfect for storing medications safely, lots of room. Perfect for storing medications safely...two keys. Locks and unlocks without problem. My only suggestion would be to fix the lid so it does not fall down on my hand so easily while taking my medications. 4Good safe for the price It's a good safe and works for what I need it for. I'm in a program where my prescription medication has to be in taken home in a lock box or they won't give it to you. I have not had any problems with it other than one of my meds comes in a glass bottle and I dropped it once and it broke the bottle and it liquid so I lost one whole dose of my medication. So I wish it came with foam padding on both sides to help with drops when there is fragile stuff inside. Other than that I have no complaints it does what it's supposed to do. 4Cheap and not secure This is built just well enough to keep honest people honest and nothing more. It really is amazing to see how many corners can be cut on something so simple. Though it has enough heft to feel sturdy and secure, it would be easy enough for a crafty/motivated person to circumvent. Most likely without any evidence of tampering. I would return this immediately if I was really worried about someone getting into this. Fortunately for me, I'm not keeping anything in it to worry about it getting in the wrong hands.Other than the poor quality and craftsmanship, I was terribly annoyed with the big nasty sticker on the box that advertises what this box is for."Look!, Here's my drugs!"This wouldn't be an issue if this sticker was easily removable. (Hint: I wouldn't be mentioning this if it was.) In fact, this was one of the more heinous types of stickers to remove. If the smell doesn't dissipate, I'm going to have to send it (and the 2nd one that I bought) back to Amazon.After opening one of them and noticing (You can't NOT notice the horrible chemical odor) I looked at others reviews and there's one from 2 years ago complaining about the horrible smell. It's a hunk of metal and some sponge cushioning material. There shouldn't be any odor at all but this is overpowering (and disgusting). 1
