Nice, I hate not knowing who is at the ... Nice, I hate not knowing who is at the door.Now I can avoid soliciting & unwanted visitors. I can tell them to go away or if I'm in the bathroom, I can let them know I'm on my way 5Doesn't work. Useless piece of garbage Garbage. Installed it as per instructions. Never notified on the app at all. Called manufacturer and they went through basic troubleshooting and then sent me a replacement. That one worked for exactly an hour before it stopped notifying me when the doorbell was rung. Useless. The whole point of this is to be able to get notified when someone rings your doorbell. This literally worked for one ring. Don't buy this. 1Barely deserves 3 stars... Clever gadget that makes use of the porch light socket to grab power for the camera and microphone.Works now and then. Not very stable in operation. It has 4 modes of (pitiful) operation.1. Won't work and has to be re-booted. About 20% of the time.2. Sound works but no video. About 10% of the time.3. Video works but no sound. About 25% of the time.4. Works as advertised with good performance. About 45% of the time.Light sometimes blinks. I don't mean it goes from dim to bright, I mean it "Blinks".Is my wi-fi modem in the house. Of course it is.Is this device outside the house. Yes, that's where it's supposed to be.Distance from modem to camera - 20 feet. No reason to lose the signal as often as it does.Hope you have better performance then I have experienced in the last 4 months. 3Great idea poor execution This product would be great if it worked properly. It has all the parts needed but the cable going from the light to the camera needs to be at least twice as long if not three times. The back end for the web services is extremely slow and buggy. Right now in order to add a second user to access the video doorbell it is impossible because the website that you get in the email is a blank page on every browser including mobile. Customer support hours are limited as well. 1Four Stars The doorbell is definitely not loud enough. 4Great video and audio when it works On my second one. Outstanding customer service but unit is not. Great video and audio when it works. Audio works about 25% of the time. Notification when some pushes door bell can take up to five minutes. Way to long to have any dialog, if the audio happen to be working. 2Very easy to install With all the problems reported in the news about people forcing there way in when you answer door gives you a huge piece of mind at a very affordable price. Very easy to install. 5Easy to set up video doorbell with one serious flaw and two minors ones The Notifi video doorbell system offers a clever design, which allows installation in almost any home or apartment, as long as you have a light fixture by your door. The straightforward setup involves screwing in the Notifi light bulb, which powers the built-in speaker and the small black video camera, which is attached by an 18-inch cord and easily fixed to the wall or light fixture via double-sided tape. Once setting up the app on your mobile device and connecting (via the app) the camera to your wifi, the feed and audio should come right up. This whole process went very smoothly for me and took about five minutes. The doorbell itself is a separate wireless button unit with a receiver chime, which plugs into any AC outlet within range of the button (about 50 feet).The doorbell itself is a significant disappointment. It sets up and connects easily and always works. However, the chime itself is a rather pathetic sounding thing, and it cannot be changed. Why on earth you would have a digital doorbell that does not have user-selectable chimes or even a volume control is utterly beyond me. We have found the chime to be not quite loud enough in several situations, and we generally feel like the chime itself to just sound kind of dumb. The best description of the sound would be to imagine a recording of an actual doorbell made with a cellphone and played back through a Bluetooth speaker. It just gets thin and raspy compared to the real thing.When a visitor presses the bell, I get a notification on my phone about three to four seconds later. Swiping this notification on my phone opens the app, which over the course of another three to four seconds, logs in automatically, goes to the "events" tab, and shows me a still photo of the front door. The quality of the photo is good, and I can easily tell who's there. But if I want to switch to the live feed, I have to hit the live feed button, and this calls up the live audio and video feed. Although this works well, by this point about 12-15 seconds has elapsed. I would prefer that the app automatically launched into the live video feed, and I wish it happened a few seconds faster. From the live video screen there is a push to talk button that allows you to speak to your visitor through a speaker in the light bulb. Although this can take people by surprise, it does work quite well. Yes, the speaker is tiny and the both the quality and volume are no better than you would expect from a speaker built into a light bulb,but it seems to get the job done.Although the camera is small and, in our case, it's black color matches our black light fixture, it still feels somewhat conspicuous and people do notice it there. Security-wise, this feels like a good thing. Aesthetically, it's not ideal. All in all, I would say the video half of this video doorbell is a four-star product, which works well if not a bit sluggishly, while the doorbell half is a rather pathetic two-star affair that won't be fixable through software updates. So you're stuck with it.A note on the optional subscription service: for $10/month you can add an automatic cloud service, which saves photo and video of your visitors automatically to the cloud when they are detected by the motion sensor. Although some people seem very upset about this, it is simply not required for any of the functionality that I've outlined in my review. While it seems very much like the app should be able to facilitate this same functionality for free by linking with an existing Dropbox account or other cloud-based service (and I agree completely that $10/month is an absurd amount of money to charge for such a service), it's important to remember that this is optional and not required if you want to simply know who's on your doorstep via your phone and be able to communicate with them. So don't be scared off by the subscription service. 3Works OK, but Motion Sensitivity Flaw I wanted a wifi-enabled video doorbell but my house was not wired for a doorbell (I've previously been using a battery operated doorbell with chime). The Notifi system uses power from an outside light socket to run the system, pretty clever. Installation is super easy: basically screw in the LED bulb, download and register the app, position and mount the camera, connect to your home wifi network, and start using. Once up and running, the sytem works fine and I haven't noticed a big lag like others... there is a short time lag (talking live to the person at the door, for example) but it's useable. Setting up another user to view the doorbell feed has been challenging, however. I can't get my wife's phone to connect and when I try, the system kicks me out and I need to reconnect also. I need to call the H/Z support for this one. The system works as designed and takes a short video when motion is detected (more later on that) and sends you an alert and/or email when the doorbell button is pressed. All these features work with the Premium subscription plan... only $50 per year (not $100 any more) so I paid up.On the motion detection: My system alerts and records constantly when the wind blows the bushes in the camera field of view. You can select/unselect areas for the camera to view but to see my sidewalk, some of said bushes have to be viewed also. This means the bulbs are constantly 'waking up' to full brightness all night long and a short video is recorded and saved for viewing thru the app. I'm not convinced bugs flying around the firxtures aren't setting off the motion sensor also. All this is happening with the motion control sensitivity set to low, so I guess I have to live with it.Another note: If you're like me and have a second outside light fixture, the matching LED accessory bulb is not available from Amazon. I found and ordered one directly from the manufacturer for $50 plus shipping 3Five Stars Gave this as a gift. this camera is of high quality. Thinking about getting one for myself. 5
