Do not buy these. 1Good Product Okay, but what can you say about a recessed light fixture?? 4Like most retrofit frame in kits it is a piece ... Like most retrofit frame in kits it is a piece of ..... the fasteners that are intended to hold it in the ceiling are lousy and you will need to figure out your own methods to complete the install... I bought these only because the trim I wanted only fits this housing... 1Worst Light Housing EVER This is the worst light kit I have ever installed. Great concept for installing without access to ceiling above, but poor design for the clips that are supposed to hold the fixture in place. I struggled with them for many hours trying to get them to hold firm against the drywall. They finally broke, and I had to install the more traditional Halo light housing that nails to the rafters. I was not happy at all about that because I had to crawl into a section of my attic that was nearly impossible to get to. And that was the whole point of trying this housing - so I wouldn't have to do that. Halo makes great products in general, but this item is a piece of junk. 1Hard to install then trims don't fit flush. Not built to the usual Halo 4" and 6" ease of installation standard. Difficult to install with poorly designed clips that are difficult to use. Then the 3001 pinhole style trim I used was difficult to install flush with ceiling - persistently dropping down 1/8 - 1/4" after being pressed in as far as it would go into frame. Only buy this product if you are in to frustration. 1... many different Halo Recessed Lights before and they installed easily. This one is so difficult to install you ... I have purchased many different Halo Recessed Lights before and they installed easily. This one is so difficult to install you have to wonder what idiot designed this fixture. Do NOT buy this fixture. There are too many other options available now. 1Not Great I just assumed the others reviewers weren't handy, and I could make it work. I was wrong. Poorly designed. I had to use the clip (which doesn't work all that well) in addition to drilling a screw through the drywall into the metal housing to install the can. You can make them work, but it will take about four times as long as it should. Outlet box is too small if you will be lighting in a series. Huge pain.
