    Quick read, feminist bent but mostly just trashyIt was what I expected! Sexploits and commentary on inequality between men and women. I'm pretty liberated but some of her PDAs grossed me out and seemed a bit far-fetched.A quick, juicy, entertaining read nonetheless! I will likely read the follow up book in future. 4Wow.Didn't know a book could be that hot of a read. This is one fantastically kinky book. 5Girl with a One Trick PonyNarcissism and nymphomania, or normal for nowadays? It'd be harsh to judge GWAOTM by the standards of 'proper' writing, as it's a blog that took off. So it's trashy, repetitive, very reminiscent by turns of 'The Happy Hooker' or much mainstream pr0n of the last fifty years. But, it's supposed to be authentic, as Abby Lee (since publicly identified) shags her way from one-night-stand to swinger spa, and that's only halfway through. Early on, Abby asks rhetorically 'why she keeps buying lingerie'. I would suggest it's something to do with the fact that it always seems to be getting moist, Abby. Any way, it might turn you on the think that your neighbourhood thirty-something single woman is actually thinking like this and never stops masturbating, so good luck. The actual author describes herself as a 'camera assistant in the film industry' - in fact she doesn't stop going on about it - but a check of IMDB reveals her as a floor runner, which is about as lowly as you can get. Ah, the internet. What did we do before it? 3A little boringThis very repetitious book is nowhere near as erotic as touted; nor is the author as much over the top in her sexual interests as she claims. The book is as much about her misadventures and lack of connection as it is about her one night stands. There is little continuity, as the book is constructed in a diary format for one year; it is a series of daily impressions and actions with little variation.The author seems to try too hard to include activities that she really has no inclination towards, such as BDSM, swinger clubs, etc. She is obsessed with self-pleasuring, even in awkward situations. But one would think that she would have concern about STDs and the like, however there is no evidence of that. Interspersed in the book are short pieces of advice for those similarly inclined. Basically, the book is both trashy and actually somewhat dull. 3Not so uncommonThis book was a wonderful and refreshing! Here I thought that I was the only woman in the world that felt like this! I of course suppress it more often then Ms. Abby does but, I have the thoughts and wettness all the same! She is great and NOT a freak. I think its awesome that a girl has finally had the "balls" to write about her true feelings! 4A fabulous insight into a woman's sexualityA fabulous insight into a woman's sexuality, and her ability to be open and honest with herself. Accepting that she is entitled to ask, and receive what she wants in the bedroom. 5She is not a typical woman!Abby Lee is obviously a woman who is sex-obsessed, and sexually driven more like a typical man than woman. Most women will not relate to her stories because,... Surprise! Most of us women do not think about sex like a man, nor enjoy sex without an emotional connection.Most women feel USED by casual sex. Very few women enjoy casual sex, except women with high testosterone (less than 20% of women).Is this book "liberating" or "empowering"??... Most women, like me, will in some ways resent this book, because we don't like, and don't relate to the notion that women can enjoy sex without emotional connection. We set our bar much higher than a shag with some random at a bar and the idea of being a call girl (without the pay) does not excite us in the slightest.In fact, Abby Lee's casual sex experiences sound like something I might have done when I was 18 or 19 (before I learned how to put myself first). I ended up feeling used and hurt by casual sex. But Abby Lee clearly wants MORE casual sex opportunities (which is why she feels frustrated by the prevailing view that women need an emotional connection to enjoy sex).Abby Lee works tirelessly to "liberate" society by promoting casual sex. She harps on and on, "Say yes to safe sex". But there is no such thing as "safe sex", many infections are present in the skin not covered by a condom and condoms do not prevent the spread of many of the most common and dangerous STD's. If that is not bad enough, women should also know that it is women who are most at risk of contracting an STD -- women are four times more likely to get gonnorhea and HIV through unprotected heterosexual sex than men are.It is interesting to hear such a candid recount of Abby's life, good on her for being so open and honest. But most women will find they are happier and healthier to live by a very different code of conduct than Abby Lee's i.e. waiting at least a month before having sex (otherwise you give away all your bargaining power too soon), and having healthy sexual boundaries will generally lead to happy and healthy lasting relationships.Is Abby Lee's book "liberating" or "pro-women"? In the majority of cases, the answer is NO. 3
