    Favorite Hammer.It's heavy, machined well, has a large smooth face, and is made in America. We already had a half dozen hammers in the truck, but I would select a different one for each task, a 22oz claw for setting nails, a 3 lb beast for driving rebar...... this hammer has solved all of those dilemmas. It's powerful enough to drive rebar through a tree root, yet gentle enough to tap a 60d nail into Ozarks clay. The claw is great when I run into a rock, and the narrow shaft between the grip and head discourages me from choking up on it. I can't imagine carrying any other hammer!!5Toughest Hammer on the MarketI reviewed this hammer and found that many concrete construction workers like this hammer. I specifically got this hammer for concrete. Never pound wood to metal. You need a metal-handled hammer to do concrete. The 30-ounce size and milled face is also great with this hammer. I am also thankful that this hammer is still Made in USA. I first tried to buy this hammer used. I could not find one used because for Estwing:: #1- You buy it for it to last and for it to be hand-me-downs to your children and grand-children; #2 - You only have to replace it if someone steals it. Best metal-handled hammer for framing and especially concrete work.5The only time you have to replace, is when an Estwing is Stolen.Clearly a fantastic tool. This particular hammer proved difficult to replace. Amazon was the only place I could locate an "identical" hammer with the same featured Ie: milled face, and weight. My Landlord was helping me on a big building project and the hammer "walked away" I know the value of a good hammer, particularly an Estwing. Felt awful for his loss, replacing was the least I could do for free help. Quit pleased with his new hammer!5Great hammer!Got this specifically for starting wedges for splitting wood. The 30oz and length is perfect for starting off, and the smooth face doesn't beat up the wedges.
