Customer Reviews

Excellent value, good qualityI have quite a few different 'hot shoe' flash adapters. Out of all I bought over the years these are my favorites. The are very solid. They won't break or bend unless serious force is used. The thread is long enough for the bolt. No danger of having the thread rip out. There is enough space under the flash contacts. The electronic contacts of the flash will not touch the adapter which causes some flashes to not work properly. The clamp mechanism works great and has a spring. The clamp moves out of the way when you open the screw. Makes putting a flash on and off much easier. The design of the clamp puts pressure on the entire length of the flash shoe. This is better than the single point screw of most other adapters. The flash sits very tight and secure. No wiggling at all.The price is very good considering the quality.I used four of them to build a custom 4 flash rig which turned out very nice. 5Holds like a champI use this to hold my SB-600 on my ball mount flash bracket and tripods. It feels very sturdy and well made. The flash isn't going anywhere once this is tightened down. No complaints, especially for the price. 5hey get the red knobgood produce, but i like the same product with the red knob.the jaws open wider on the red knob mount, on this oneif you open it too wide the screw comes outboth suppliers / shippers were great 4ePhoto Shoe Bracket/mountI don't know why ePhoto specifies this adapter for the SB 800 Nikon flash. This bracket will work with any standard hot shoe plate that I've ever seen and/or owned.I bought two of these one of which was from a different manufacturer. The other one was made of metal and this one is made of a very tough plastic. This one cost little more but I have to admit I like it better.First, because it's made of a plastic material it doesn't wear down or scratch the hot shoe plate itself. Second is the fact that it allows the hot shoe plate to glide easily into place and clamps down very securely. There is nothing cheap about this hot shoe bracket. It has a wider surface area than the metallic one I bought, will not have any rust problems, and is lighter than the metallic versions. I think it can take rough handling as good as if not better than a metal one as well.I do recommend this to anyone who wants a good quality bracket. 5Low quality.I use this item to attach my Nikon SB-600 Speedlight to a tripod for remote flash. When I received this item, the 1/4-20 threads used to thread the tripod were bad. Rather than returning it, I ran a tap through the threads and cleaned them out. Then I found that the tab was assembled upside down, and would not even work. After re-assembling it correctly, it is mis-aligned, but I suppose that is aesthetic more than functional. But it looks like it was drilled free-hand.I guess you get what you pay for, but it at should at least not look like it was made in 8th grade shop class. 2Awesome tripod mount!I bought a Vivitar 383 flash the other day and was rather disappointed by the lack of stand. So I went on here and decided to order the product being reviewed. I'm a prime user and the cost of the item plus 1 day shipping was only $10! It was totally worth it. The item is made of metal and I had no trouble screwing it to a cheap tripod I bought a couple years ago. I slid the flash in and tightened the screw and it was perfect! One cool thing about this adapter is it also can serve as a tripod adapter for a firearm with a picatinny rail (If you want to mount a rifle or pistol to a camera tripod lol). All in all, this is an awesome little adapter for your flash, it's only $7 and $10 if you are a prime member and don't like to wait like me. So buy it. 5ePhoto SB800 shoe mount flash adapterThe thread mount, for mounting on the stand, is deep enough and strong enough for a solid mount on the stand, and The flash mount is configured so that the flash contacts will not contact anything, so will not short. The clamp and thumb screw for mounting the flash are more than adequate. The flash mounts and releases easily, with a secure fit. 5Its a shoe for a flash. Nothing fancy, ...Its a shoe for a flash. Nothing fancy, holds the flash to the stand. Not sure how quality compares to others, but it accomplishes that job. 4Just get the StroboframeI figured I would give this slightly cheaper ePhoto brand adapter to pair with my Manfrotto 026 Swivel Lite-Tite Umbrella Adapter. Usually I use the Stroboframe Bracket Shoe Mount which is slightly more, but after I lost one I thought I would give this a go. After 2 weddings, I'm throwing it away. The screw that tightens the adapter is way too small and easily unscrews when you are barely wide enough to fit your flash onto the adapter. Two extra rotations after opening up to actually being usable to mount a 600EX and the screw is all the way off. I guess that's what you get to try to save a few bucks, cheaper components. I switched back to my Stroboframe and have had zero problems. Also, the knob for the screw is slightly smaller than the Stroboframe, I liked the slightly larger knob when needing to quickly set up lights as fast as possible. 2nice to haveI am using this item to mount strobes to tripods for the main light, hair light, green screen illumination, and to light flats. It is a well made, simple product that is exactly what I needed and it is nothing more or nothing less. It is what it is and that's it. It does the job for me. 5
