    Great Echo Light Housing Excellent light housings. Good material and good installation clips.Overall good quality housing much better than Halo. I have used Halo housing in the past but Halo lights were lower quality and were much harder to install. Hence, I spent a little more and got Echo lights. 5Great candidate for 5" IC shallow remodel box If you're looking at this product, you'll probably know by now that its very difficult to find an 5" IC shallow remodel box. This one fits the bill, isn't expensive and is relatively easy to install. I found it a little less than easy to get the clips to stay in place, but not especially difficult. I used this with a Juno LED trim (and a goof ring for a cutting error made 5y ago) and it looks great. 5Easy to install Easy to install, the clips went in better than most halo lights I have used in the past. They even have some spare sticker to cover the openings. I would say this is a much better quality than the B&M HD/Lowes lighting which sells for about the same or even more. I have done several Halos in the past and have had trouble getting the clips in especially for plaster ceilings...even with the suggested internet tips to open the clips before putting the fixture up the Halos always are a lot tougher to get in. I think I will go for these Elco in future since the clip quality is a lot better than the Halos and also they came with the quick connect push in connectors....only thing you need is a NM wire clamp when using romex. Also to say most of the retrofit LED kits like those sold in costco do fit this 5" one and its probably better to make smaller holes in the ceiling than the 6" ones since the trim/bulb from the kit will fit both the 5" and 6". 5Nice housing unit This was exactly as described and very easy to install. Good buy 5They're perfect with our 5" recessed LEDs I needed some cans for my bathroom remodel. This was the only set that I could find that were UL listed, damp rated, IC rated, and air tight. They're perfect with our 5" recessed LEDs. These have all the light mounting hardware you need since they're universal. I tried to contact the company that makes them with questions regarding the light mounts, but they never answered my call. Luckily they were just what I needed. 5Worked As Expected Needed these to retrofit my kitchen. Worked as expected. It's the only SHALLOW 5" Airtight IC ... I remodeled my kitchen and purchased a bunch of Halo 5" Airtight IC lighting from H'Depot at almost half the price of this Elco model. So why did I buy this and why do I love it? It's the only SHALLOW 5" Airtight IC recessed light that I can find anywhere and -- wouldn't you know it -- one of the openings I'd intended to use the Halos for was right beneath a strongback beam in my attic running perpendicular to my ceiling joists. I had initially jumped into engineering mode looking to see if I could relocate the strongback or somehow alter it and then I remembered that they make shallow recessed light housings! I go to the two usual big box suspects (and even check their websites) and can't find anything that's 5" shallow, airtight, and IC rated. It's either 6" or not airtight or not IC -- you get it. This Amazon order saved my day and like the other reviewers mentioned, it comes with extra foam seal (probably for use around the base of the light where it meets your ceiling) and the clips are 10x easier than the ones used in the Halos. Overall, a great experience even if my project only required one of these. If the price was right, I'd consider using these exclusively in future remodels. 5
