    Great, easy to use and dependableI have two of these ladders for over 10 years now and I am very content with them. This was the first time I had lived in a two story environment and my immediate alert was my son going over the balcony playing "Superman" or something like that. It was a dead drop to cement and I knew this was an immediate need. The biggest problem with these ladders is storage. They have to be ready to use at a seconds notice therefore it can't get kicked to the back of some closet or put in the garage where ladders usually belong. This one stacked neatly and was easy to fit behind a nightstand right by the sliding window to the upstairs patio. We had the normal "mock fire drills" so we actually used it and no one had any problems with gripping it and finding their footing including my then 5 year old son and my 75 year old mother. It feels very sturdy and substantial yet weights practically nothing. My only warning to someone looking at this type of ladder is to make sure it is long enough. My 2 story, 14 ft ladder was fine for the condo, but when we moved to a house it wasn't really long enough for me (5' 0"). I had to get loose from it and plopped down the remainder of the space. This time I am buying a 3 story one even though it will be bulkier and more to handle I don't see a choice. These ladders are a must have if you have any level you could be caught up during a fire or burglary. Don't put off purchasing one because you don't see how you could have a fire where you live or because it is winter... A bad fall can do a lot of personal injury and most insurance companies require that you have on the premises as well as a fire extinguisher. 5
