Customer Reviews

Built tough, stylish and a fantastic sunglass for driving I've had some expensive/brand-name sunglasses in the past in both gray and amber tinted lenses. The amber lens tends to be my favorite and really helps make hazy bright, overcast or rainy weather driving much easier for visibility since it improves contrast for those types of conditions. Many of the mid-range priced sunglasses I've owner had lightweight and so-so durability frames. Either the lens would scratch first in the worst place (right where you look straight ahead through the lens) or the frame would finally fatigue and break.I saw these glasses and since they were safety glasses w/ extra hardened lenses, amber in color and polarized as well, they looked like they were what I was searching for in "driving" sunglasses.WOW!....delighted with the fit (rubberized and feel light and perfectly contoured against the face for extended hours of use), the amber lenses are a perfect range of density; not too dark nor too light. They seem perfect for all-around use, even during sunny and bright days as well. For overcast and darker days, they were a blessing and worked superbly on a few long trips. They clearly do improve contrast where needed on those gray/overcast type days. For bright sun, they work well too. Polarization is excellent. They remove all glare from road, water and other reflective surfaces. The frames of these sunglasses seem built quite sturdy and do not look anything like a "safety glass" typically would. They are stylish, hold to the face well while providing plenty of grip so they do not move around on the nose yet offer no tight feeling that might give your a headache from too much tightness on/near the temples area if worn too long. You can wear these for hours and not have any discomfort at all.I was so delighted with my first pair that I ordered a second pair today just before posting this review.Regarding specifically driving, these really are "safety" glasses and will provide safer driving on the road.I don't dare use them as safety glasses since they will serve another purpose completely and remain in my car at all times. I'll pull out my other clunky old pair of safety-glasses when I just need eye protection.Highly recommended. Very satisfied with this purchase. 5Excellent ....Removing while logo from lensAs a former active duty Marine with tours over seas and now as a Swat officer I can speak for Experience this glasses are great for the price....Compared to Oaklyes, ESS, and the other top name brands.... The only difference. Is the price..... They work just as good....My only complaint was the white polarized logo painted on the right lense.....but I found a good way to get rid of them without damaging the lense.... Hope this help anyone with the same dilemma.grab a penny, and lightly scrape away the logo with the side of it. A penny is soft enough to not scratch the lens, but hard enough to remove the logo. Put this On does this with a pair of Ray Bans, which is what I also tested on, and it works great. That said, a penny should do the trick for just about any pair of glasses. Just make sure to only test it on a small area before you commit.5Awesome for work or personal use! I started getting these for free at my work, but have since bought many pairs because I wear them everywhere. I have also given away sets to family and friends...In addition to being Z87, they have the absolute best polarized lenses in the price range (obviously Costas and Maui Jims are in a different category). They will scratch eventually, but it seems that the raised frame protects them quite well and I am always impressed how long they hold up considering how much I abuse them. They fit my face better than any glasses I've owned, but I have worked with other people that don't like the fit at all and won't wear them. I would say I have a fairly lean and medium sized head. If you have fat cheeks or a flat nose, they might not work the best for you.I say try them. They are by far the best safety glasses I have seen, and for $25 they are a great pair of sunglasses in any category. 5First 10 minutes I hated them, now I love them and wear them everyday.Ok... So I read the reviews about them being small or tight and uncomfortable. I carefully took them out of the plastic bag just in case I had to return them and stuck them on my face. (Glasses, not the bag.) I was really sad and annoyed for like 10 minutes because they were a little tight, so I was convinced I was gonna have to send them back. But it was really bright out and I had to drive home in rush hour so I just left them on, tag, sticker and all. Fashion.Made it all the way home and forgot they were on. Including the tag and sticker. I love them now and wear them everyday. (Yes, I took off the tags...) They seem to have formed to my face and maybe stretched out a little?? Maybe the 110 degree weather helped, I dunno.. I got them in the summer. But seriously these are great sunglasses. They are very dark, which is what I need, and they really cut down the glare. Dark enough where people can't really see what I'm actually looking at, which is good. But not like too dark where I can't wear them early evening... idk how that even makes sense, but whatever. I've had these for about 3 months now and really happy. If they got lost I'd buy them again. They are comfortable and do offer enough side protection for my particular face and small flying objects.5My Kingdom for Scratch-Proof Lenses!I bought three pairs of sunglasses in anticipation of the joys of a summer in the Middle East, this pair, the 3m X2P and the Wiley X Slay. The Edge TSK216 were my (and my wife's) favorite aesthetically, were very comfortable and the polarization worked well. That being said, the lenses did sit a little close to my eyes, and would my eyelashes would occasionally rub against them. Not a big issue, but occasionally annoying. If there were no other issues these would easily be 5 stars! That being said, I was dismayed to find out that after a few weeks of use, the lenses began to show significant scratches. I am not particularly gentle with my sunglasses and they often end up in my cargo pockets with other items, so I suppose some scratches should be expected. Still, I was a little dismayed that my favorite pair of sunglasses were increasingly becoming more difficult to see out of. In my experience, only the 3m glasses have avoided any significant scratches. I may very well buy a replacement pair of these again soon, but try to baby them a little bit more. If they had a more resilient coating on the lenses these would quickly become my only pair of sunglasses!4What Sun?My husband has worn Edge sunglasses for years and loves them. We recently spent a month in a Mexican beach town where the sun is intense, and these sunglasses were amazing. My husband brought three pairs, just in case... By the end of the month, the ocean had claimed two pairs.( these fit tight and did ok in small to medium waves, but the big ones were too much) He ordered a replacement pair the day before we left so that they would be here when we arrived. So, for work or play, these are excellent. When getting crushed by a big wave, you should probably opt to leave them on the shore.5Durable, well made and perfect for everyday use.I understand the world we live on today, people pay more attention to brands than quality. I owned brand name sunglasses and Edge Eyewear sunglasses are equally as durable and protect my eyes just as good, if not better. I love this pair of sunglasses for driving and for when I go target practice to the range. This sunglasses make everything look clearer, but at the same time protects your eyes from light. I am always on the road and I would drive without this sunglasses.5Very Good eye protectionThis is arguably the best pair of dark eye protection I have used. I have a smaller-frame sized face and even at high speed, these manage to keep dust, debris and most importantly, WIND sealed out of my eyeballs.I wear them with hard-hats and bicycle helmets as well as other more comfortable headwear. I like the silicon/rubber bit that sort of eases abrasion on the ear. They are also VERY dark. Like on a shiny metal roof covered in shiny solar panels, in Nogales, AZ, in the winter with the sun at a low, but still very intense angle, for example, I was the only person who could still read a tape measure.I am very rough on certain elements of my PPE, glasses probably being the most dropped, abused, crammed and scratched item. Oh well, submitting order for my third pair.5These are the best glasses for bright light in places where there is ...I've been wearing Edge polarized glasses for years. I wore them in the desert during the war and ever since then. These are the best glasses for bright light in places where there is either snow or desert. They're my favorite for sitting next to the pool also. One pair of these with daily use will last rough handling about 1 year. If you only wear them when you drive, several years. To clean them use dish soap and warm water. At this price, I generally have 3 pair, one copper, one yellow and one mirror blue. The yellow is great for low light, the copper for extreme bright and the blue things like shopping where you are sometimes inside and sometimes outside.5From a very satisfied customer... Solid glasses. Arrived just as shown with no surprises. Have not observed any distortion due to unequal polarization angles or whatever that some reviewers have criticized in the past. I bought a few different models from Edge because I'm out in the field quite a bit under a variety of circumstances, at all hours day or night. One thing I really like about the Kazbek style frame is that the bottom strip along the temple/ear part of the frame is made of a durable, flexible rubber. I've worn all kinds of cheapo safety glasses that irritate the tops of my ears after hours of wearing them under a hat or hardhat, so the flexible rubber is a nice touch. Size-wise, all of the Edge models I purchased fit like a glove. By no means do I have a lean face, so I'd say the regular size should fit about 90% of people. If you have trouble with fitting most sunglasses found in gas stations, then you may be in that 10% or so. Check out their website, the dimensions are clearly shown so you can determine whether you need the XL or not. The lenses do what they promise and each style is designed for various light conditions and activities. Again, check out their website to determine which type of lens/frame will work best for you. These glasses here have easily replaced my crummy, 7-year old pair of driving sunglasses that were from a much more expensive breed. 5Why people buy designer sunglasses and treat them with kid ...Why people buy designer sunglasses and treat them with kid gloves is beyond me. I have 4 sets of Edge polarized safety glasses, they cost about $25 each, and I never have to worry about them breaking. They don't break. They get chipped, scuffed, scraped, chafed, melted, and abused and still work for me. Every time I buy new ones, my current pair becomes the "work pair" and the "work pair" gets reduced to the "really nasty work pair" for digging trenches, pouring concrete, and anything where looking at least half respectable while working isn't an issue.5My 5th pair, with one constant issueGreat polarized glasses for under $50. I constantly lose, scratch and sometime abuse my glasses. Can't help it. Glad I finally found a pair of sunglasses which are priced great that fit my large head well. The only drawback is the part of the glasses on the left and right side where the two materials come together (on the folding arms) always comes apart after about 4 months of use. I have had to superglue these pieces back together on all the pairs. The nose pieces also all come off after a while. Superglue fixes this issue as well. Not really a big deal because I realize in some cases you get what you pay for. These are not $150 high end sunglasses. These are great sunglasses for the money and I will continue to buy them.4Good fit, lens' are a little smallI have pretty bad light sensitivity and being outdoors during sunlight is uncomfortable. The lens' on this product aren't as good as some other sunglasses I have. The description says 14% of light, the other brand I tried claimed 11%, the difference is noticeable for me.I am a shooter, and like to stick to Mil rated glasses for that extra peace of mind and ability to use my daily sunglasses as safety glasses on the range. Several years back I had a pair of Smith's Lens' (not ANSI Z87) that were amazing but got scratched, and getting replacement lens' cost around $60+. For that price, I instead got WX Valor since those were all the rage online. Also a good pair, but overtime also got scratched, and replacement lens' are still the same price as just getting another pair.So I came across these Edge Eyewear glasses, and the Ergodyne Skullerz Dagr for ~$25 each, thought I'd give them a try. Between the two, I almost have the perfect pair of glasses, unfortunately as they are they are just mediocre. The two big issues with the Edge pair:1 - As I mentioned above, the lens' don't quite block enough light for me. If the sun is directly in my face it's still uncomfortable.2 - The lens' are a little small for my face. My wife noticed this on me while I was wearing them, she told me "Those are too small for you." I can see the bottom of the frames in my eyesight, but if you wear them long enough you stop noticing it.Overall they do work well, but I just liked the Smith's and WX better (at, of course, 2-3 times the cost), and the Ergodyne G15 lens' are amazing, but they're temples are too short and uncomfortable. I'll probably keep switching between these and the Ergodyne's for a while, but will likely be replacing them at some point sooner than I should have to.3
